Premier League title race: Are Aston Villa title contenders as Arsenal look vulnerable?

Unai Emery insists Aston Villa are not title contenders, despite his team's impressive form. The Villans have moved just three points behind Arsenal in the Premier League table after a 2-1 win over their rivals on Saturday.

However, with Manchester City also in the top three, Villa's chances of winning the league cannot be ruled out. They have won nine of their last ten games, including seven straight in all competitions, and have scored more goals than expected goals (xG) tally.

Danny Murphy, a former Tottenham midfielder, believes that Villa are not yet title contenders due to their lack of depth. However, he acknowledges that their best XI can beat any team.

The loss to Villa has weakened Arsenal's position at the top of the table, with just two wins from their past five Premier League games. The absences of key players such as William Saliba, Martin Odegaard, and Bukayo Saka have also taken a toll on the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta was asked if his team had become Arsenal's to lose after the loss to Villa, but he expects them to cope with the pressure over the next six months. The manager believes that the level of the Premier League requires teams to perform consistently, and that Arsenal will need to bounce back from their current shaky spell.

The question now is whether Arsenal can regain their momentum and stay ahead of the pack in the title race. With Villa's impressive form and the unpredictability of the league, anything can happen over the course of the remaining 38 games.

Aren't you guys being a bit harsh on Aston Villa? I mean, they're not doing badly at all πŸ€”. They've got some serious momentum going on right now, and their form is actually pretty impressive. Three points behind Arsenal? That's not so bad! And let's be real, Manchester City are always gonna be there to put a dent in everyone's hopes πŸ˜‚. It's like they're just waiting for someone to slip up. But Villa? They're the ones doing all the hard work. I don't think it's too much to say that they could give anyone a run for their money.

I'm tellin' ya, something fishy is goin' on at Emirates Stadium πŸ€”. Mikel Arteta's tryin' to spin this loss as a minor setback, but I think he's hidin' somethin'. Villa's form is too good to be just a coincidence, and the absences of those key players for Arsenal are just too convenient 😏. And don't even get me started on the xG tally - that's like tryin' to predict the weather 🌫️. But what I do know is that this league is full of twists and turns, and anyone can make a comeback if they play smart πŸ’‘. Still, you gotta wonder what's really goin' on behind the scenes... 🀐

I don’t usually comment but... I think it’s crazy how much pressure is on Mikel Arteta right now! They lost to Aston Villa which was a solid win for them, but Arsenal has had some major injuries and their form hasn't been great lately. If they can get some of their key players back from injury and get back to winning games consistently, I think they can still make a push for the title πŸ€”. The Premier League is so unpredictable, Villa's form right now is impressive but you never know what will happen when the season wraps up. It’s gonna be an exciting ride! πŸ˜„

I gotta disagree with Danny Murphy πŸ€”. Like, I get what he's saying about depth, but Villa's squad is actually pretty solid πŸ”’. They've been on a roll, and that's not gonna stop now. Plus, their xG tally is way up, so they're definitely scoring goals against the run of play. That's gotta count for something πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. And let's be real, Arsenal's had some major injuries lately ⚠️. If Villa can keep this momentum going and stay healthy, I think they've got a legit shot at that title πŸ†. And it's not like City's gonna give up their position easily... 😏

omg u gotta be kidding me πŸ˜‚, Aston Villa cant lose to anyone rn! Emery is just being cautious lol, theyre crushing it in the table and their form is insane!!! Villa vs Arsenal was literally the game of the season 🀩. i dont think Villa are underdogs anymore, theyre gonna take over the league if not already πŸ‘‘. Murphys saying they need depth but idk lol, Villa got this!! πŸ’ͺ

omg i cant believe villa are making a move in the table 🀯 theyve been doing so well lately and their team spirit is literally inspiring! but at the same time, its also true that they dont have that depth Danny murphy makes some valid points about them needing to shore up their squad before they can seriously challenge for the title. but still, 9 wins out of 10? that's incredible 🀩

I'm loving this Premier League drama 🀩! The fact that Aston Villa is still in the mix despite Emery saying they're not contenders is crazy talk πŸ˜‚. Those nine wins on the trot? No way, that's more like what City or Liverpool are doing right now πŸ’ͺ.

And can we talk about how much pressure Mikel Arteta is putting on his team? "You're our to lose"? That's a bold statement, especially when you've just lost to Villa! 😬 But for real, it's time for the Gunners to step up their game and get back on track. They've got a tough road ahead of them, but if they can bounce back from this shaky spell, watch out! πŸ”₯ The title race is heating up and I'm here for it πŸ’«
