10 Things We Liked About 'Stranger Things' Season 5 Vol. 1, and 4 Things We Didn't

Will's connection to the hive mind makes him this season's secret weapon, allowing Hawkins' heroes a man on the inside who can spot incoming threats. This newfound power also brings Will into his own with Robin's help, making for a sweet subplot that builds to an epic payoff.

The radio station run by Nancy, Steve, and Robin is another welcome addition to the show, adding a new layer of nostalgia for the days before music streaming and radio personalities. The way they use the radio to send covert messages to their team also feels very Star Wars-like, with Steve giving off Han Solo vibes as he drives the mobile station.

Nancy's transformation into an '80s heroine is also a highlight, with her becoming the brains behind the operation as she guides every player on the table to use their skills to defeat Vecna. Her character development is key in making this season work, particularly when it comes to her relationships with the other characters.

The friendships between the kids are still what make Stranger Things special, with Steve and Dustin's bond remaining unbreakable. The new additions, like Will and Robin, also feel relatable and critical to the story. The show does an excellent job of balancing action and humor, making it a joy to watch.

Eleven's training montage was sick, and seeing her really lean into her powers finally in the Upside Down was so cool. Her relationship with Hopper is especially strong, and his guidance helps Eleven grow into a powerful force against Vecna.

The return of Eight and her connection to the government's plan also adds an interesting layer to the story, as she uses her knowledge to help Eleven take down Vecna. The show does a great job of connecting these characters in meaningful ways, making for a satisfying storyline.

However, some aspects leave much to be desired. Jonathan's obsession with Steve is tiring and feels like a competition that Nancy deserves better than to deal with. His focus on being better than Steve rather than growing as an individual himself makes him lack emotional growth.

Additionally, the mysterious cave introduced in volume one doesn't help viewers understand its significance, feeling more like an increment of information that's not well-integrated into the story so far.

The show also didn't do enough with Dr. Kay, a character who was heavily anticipated due to her casting. Her role is minimal at this point, leaving many fans wanting more about what makes her tick and how she fits into the overall plot.

Overall, Stranger Things Season 5 Vol. 1 is off to a great start, showcasing the characters' growth and development while delivering plenty of nostalgic charm. While some plot points feel rushed or underdeveloped, the show's ability to balance action and humor keeps viewers engaged.

I'm loving this season so far ๐Ÿคฉ! The way Will's connection to the hive mind is handled is really cool, it adds a whole new layer to the story ๐Ÿ’ป. I also think Nancy's transformation into an '80s heroine is amazing, she's becoming more confident and in control which is great to see ๐Ÿ˜Ž.

The friendships between the kids are still so heartwarming ๐Ÿค—, especially Steve and Dustin's bond. And Eleven's training montage was insane ๐Ÿคฏ! Her relationship with Hopper is also super strong, it's nice to see them grow together ๐Ÿ’•.

I do think some of Jonathan's actions can be a bit frustrating though ๐Ÿ˜’, his obsession with Steve can be annoying at times. And I wish they'd explored Dr. Kay's character more ๐Ÿค”, she seemed like such an interesting person when she was cast but now her role feels kind of minimal.

Overall, though, the show is doing really well and it's awesome to see the characters grow ๐Ÿ’ช. The balance of action and humor is on point, it's a great way to keep viewers engaged ๐Ÿ“บ. Bring on the rest of the season! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

I'm loving the new season of Stranger Things ๐Ÿคฉ! The addition of Will's connection to the hive mind is genius, and it's so cool to see him develop his powers alongside Robin ๐Ÿ’ซ. I also appreciate how Nancy's character has evolved into a total boss, guiding her team to take down Vecna ๐Ÿ”ฅ. Her transformation is everything!

The friendships between Steve and Dustin are still my favorite part of the show ๐Ÿคœ๐Ÿค›, but it's awesome to see new relationships like Will and Robin's come together too ๐Ÿ’•. Eleven's training montage was epic, and her bond with Hopper is so strong โค๏ธ. The return of Eight adds an interesting layer to the story, and I love how she helps Eleven take down Vecna ๐Ÿ”ฎ.

However, Jonathan's obsession with Steve does feel like a drag ๐Ÿ™„, and his character could use more development. And can we please get more out of Dr. Kay? She was so hyped up before this season, and her role feels really underutilized ๐Ÿ˜. But overall, Stranger Things is off to a great start, and I'm excited to see where the rest of the season takes us ๐ŸŽ‰!

I'm loving this season so far ๐Ÿคฉ! I think Will's connection to the hive mind is a game-changer for him and the gang ๐Ÿ’ก. And omg Steve's mobile radio station is such a cool nod to the 80s ๐Ÿ“ป. It's like they're in their own little Star Wars universe ๐Ÿ”ซ. Nancy's transformation into a total boss lady is amazing, she's definitely got some awesome new skills ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ’ป. The friendships between the kids are still so heartwarming, it's like they're one big happy family ๐Ÿค—. And Eleven's training montage was INSANE ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ! Her relationship with Hopper is so strong, it gives me all the feels โค๏ธ. But yeah, some of the side plot points feel a bit rushed or underdeveloped, especially with Dr Kay and that mysterious cave thing... still not sure what's up with those ๐Ÿ˜. Overall though, I'm loving the nostalgic vibes and the way the characters are growing and developing ๐ŸŽ‰!

I'm loving how they're bringing back Steve as Han Solo lol ๐Ÿ˜‚. But seriously, I think Nancy's transformation is a highlight - she's really coming into her own as the leader of the group. The new additions like Will and Robin are cool too, they add some fresh perspectives to the show.

I do wish Jonathan would focus on growing himself instead of comparing to Steve all the time. It's not fair to Nancy or anyone else he cares about ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ.

The mysterious cave thing is a bit confusing though... can we get more info on what's going on in that world? ๐Ÿค”

I'm so down for Eleven's training montage, she's becoming such a powerful force against Vecna! ๐Ÿ’ช And I love how her relationship with Hopper is still strong - they're like the OG couple ๐Ÿ˜Š.

But what happened to Dr. Kay? She was supposed to be this big deal and now she's just... there ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Hope we get more of her story soon.

All in all, though, it's off to a great start! Can't wait for more ๐Ÿ’ฅ

I'm still trying to process this whole Vecna thing... it feels like we're just scratching the surface of what's going on in Hawkins, you know? And I love how Will is becoming this pivotal character, but also how he's struggling with his own power - it's like, are we really sure that's a good thing? Does having that kind of connection to the hive mind even feel empowering or just kinda suffocating?

And can we talk about Nancy for a sec? She's literally the glue holding everything together right now. I mean, she's the brains behind the operation and still managing to keep everyone grounded, even when it feels like the world is falling apart. Her relationships with the other characters are so important too - especially with Steve and Dustin, those kids have been through so much and yet they're still finding ways to connect with each other.

But anyway, I guess what I'm saying is that Stranger Things always does a great job of making me feel all these emotions... like this season is off to a pretty good start but it's also got some things that are leaving me feeling kinda meh. Like, what's the deal with Jonathan and Steve? Can't he just chill for once?

And don't even get me started on Dr. Kay... she's literally my spirit animal and I'm still waiting for her to come into her own in this season. Her story feels so underdeveloped right now, it's like, what are we supposed to be feeling about her?

I'm so down for Will becoming this season's secret weapon! ๐Ÿคฏ It's cool how they're using the radio station as a way to send covert messages - it feels like something straight out of Star Wars ๐Ÿš€. And Nancy's transformation into an '80s heroine is everything! She's the brains behind the operation and her relationships with the other characters are so important.

I'm loving the friendships between the kids, especially Steve and Dustin's bond ๐Ÿ’•. The new additions feel relatable too, like Will and Robin ๐Ÿค. But I wish Jonathan would focus on growing as an individual instead of trying to one-up Steve all the time ๐Ÿ˜’. And what's up with Dr. Kay? She was super hyped due to her casting, but her role is so minimal right now ๐Ÿค”.

The action scenes are still so epic, especially Eleven's training montage ๐Ÿ’ช! Her relationship with Hopper is so strong and it's amazing to see her grow into a powerful force against Vecna ๐Ÿ”ฅ. Overall, I'm excited for the season to keep going and find out what's in store for our favorite characters ๐ŸŽ‰.

I'm loving how they're balancing out the new characters like Will and Robin, it feels so natural and I love the dynamic between them and the rest of the gang ๐Ÿคฉ. But, gotta say, some plot points still feel a bit wonky, like what's up with Jonathan's obsession? It's like, come on dude, grow up already! ๐Ÿ˜’ And I'm still waiting for more from Dr. Kay, she seemed like such an interesting character. Can't wait to see where the season takes her ๐Ÿ“บ. Overall though, the radio station thing is genius and Steve Solo vibes are everything ๐Ÿ’ฅ.

๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ’ฅ I'm so stoked for Season 5! ๐Ÿ˜ The newbies like Will and Robin are ๐Ÿ”ฅ fresh additions, and their banter is on point ๐Ÿ“บ Nancy's transformation into an '80s heroine is totally tubular ๐Ÿ‘ธโ€โ™€๏ธ Steve's Han Solo vibes are everything ๐Ÿš€ Dustin and Steve's friendship is still the GOAT ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ’• Eleven's powers are so cool ๐Ÿ˜Ž and her bond with Hopper is ๐Ÿ’”โค๏ธ. I'm loving the radio station addition, it's like a blast from the past ๐Ÿ“ป๐ŸŽต The action scenes are ๐Ÿ”ฅ and the humor is on point ๐Ÿ˜‚. But omg, Jonathan's obsession is SO tired ๐Ÿ˜’ and Dr. Kay's role is still a mystery to me ๐Ÿค”. Can't wait for more! ๐Ÿ‘€

omg i'm so down for this season ๐Ÿ˜† it's like will becoming the hive mind is giving him a whole new level of cool ๐Ÿ’ฅ and steve driving the radio station with robin is literally star wars mode ๐Ÿš€ i love how nancy's become more than just the damsel in distress too, she's literally leading the charge ๐Ÿ’ช and eleven's training montage was insane ๐Ÿ”ฅ her bond with hopper is so strong too โค๏ธ but yeah jonathan's obsession with steve is kinda whiny ๐Ÿ™„ can we get some more dr kay please? ๐Ÿ˜‚
