omg, 20k for a robot that can open doors and adjust lighting? i think its worth it tho, think about all the time you'll save not having to do chores. plus, the fact that u can control it remotely is so cool! but, gotta ask, how are they gonna make sure our data is safe? like, what if someone hacks into ur system and steals ur personal info? thats a major concern. and, $499/month? that's like, way too much for me. tho, i can see why ppl would wanna splurge on this kinda tech
I gotta say, $20k for a robot that's just gonna sit there and look pretty ? I mean, I'm all for innovation and whatnot, but come on! And don't even get me started on the whole "data collection" thing ... I know 1X is trying to be smart about it, but $499 a month sounds like way too much to ask for a robot that's just gonna follow your orders . Plus, what's up with the "no-go zones"? Are they worried someone's gonna try and hack into their home? Security breaches are definitely something to consider, but I'm not sure 1X is doing enough to address it . Still, I gotta give 'em credit for trying... maybe in a few years we'll have robots that can do our laundry without us having to lift a finger !
I'm low-key obsessed with the idea of having a robot like the NEO in my home, but at the same time, I'm also super concerned about the whole data collection thing . I mean, $20k is a pretty penny upfront, and I don't know if I'm willing to give up that much control over my personal info just for the sake of having a sleek robot doing my household chores.
But at the same time, think about all the convenience it could bring! Being able to just schedule a task through an app and have it get done automatically is like, totally appealing . And I can see how the human teleoperation feature would be super useful for people who are busy or have mobility issues.
I'm gonna have to wait and see how this whole thing plays out before I make any decisions about whether or not I want to pre-order my NEO
I'm not convinced that $20k for a robot is justified just yet . I mean, what's the real-world benefit here? We already have smart speakers and voice assistants doing these tasks at a fraction of the cost . And what about those who can't afford it or don't want to commit to a monthly subscription? Not to mention the data collection concerns - how do we know 1X isn't selling our personal info on the dark web ? Need more transparency and evidence before I shell out my hard-earned cash .
