mpox is still a thing think we should be way more prepared for this kind of thing... all those people in shelters, sex workers too... need better access to healthcare & prevention methods
mpox is just another name for syphilis, right? like a minor thing that everyone knows about. people are making a big deal out of this because they're worried about the homeless population in Worcester, but it's not like mpox is going to wipe out humanity or anything .
the real problem here is that we're still using old vaccines from 2024, and now we've got a new strain emerging. when are we gonna catch up with the times? and what's with all these warnings about close contact and needles? like, come on, wear some gloves already .
i mean, i get it, the virus is spreading fast, but has anyone actually looked at the data to see if this is really a concern? or are we just perpetuating fear-mongering because it's more exciting than talking about actual health problems .
this is so worrying I mean, 51 confirmed cases in Massachusetts already? That's not good especially with the risk of transmission through close contact, skin-to-skin or even just touching . And it's not like we're talking about a huge outbreak just yet, but still... the fact that they've had to issue a clinical advisory for the homeless population and sex workers in Worcester is a major concern . I think it's super important that people get vaccinated and practice safe sex . We don't know much about this virus, so let's all just be extra careful .
