Quarterfinal Matchups Decide IHSA State Football Semifinalists in Class 8A, 7A, 6A, 5A, and Below
The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) state football quarterfinals have come to a close, with many highly seeded teams making their way to the semifinals. In Class 8A, top-ranked Mount Carmel dominated Lincoln-Way East 48-7, while Fremd edged out Bolingbrook 34-33. Lockport, meanwhile, secured a first-round win over Barrington 35-0.
In Class 7A, St. Rita cruised past Hersey 56-42 and will face off against Batavia in the semifinals. Downers Grove North also advanced to the next round with a convincing 28-10 victory over Lincoln-Way West.
Fenwick continued its impressive run in Class 6A, downing Burlington Central 49-21 and setting up a matchup against Nazareth in the semifinals. East St. Louis dominated Simeon 49-0, while St. Laurence edged out Dunlap 28-14 to reach the semifinals.
In Class 5A, St. Francis knocked off King 44-14 and will face Belvidere North in the next round. Oak Forest defeated Peoria 34-20 to advance to the semifinals. Providence also made a deep run, beating Washington, Ill. 39-6 to set up a matchup against Oak Forest.

In Class 3A, Richmond-Burton dispatched Monmouth-Roseville 31-6 and Byron beat IC Catholic 28-6 to reach the semifinals. Tolono Unity also advanced with a 42-7 win over Williamsville, while St. Joseph-Ogden defeated Vandalia 38-24.

Finally, in Class 1A, Stockton dominated Dwight 44-0 and Lena-Winslow beat Annawan-Wethersfield 42-20 to reach the semifinals. Brown County edged Carrollton 37-13 to advance to the next round, while Calhoun defeated Casey-Westfield 28-21.
