Philly's Winter Wonderland: What to Do This Weekend

Subzero wind chills are expected, but that won't stop Philadelphians from braving the cold for a day of fun and entertainment. The city has an array of events lined up for this weekend.

One event that promises to be particularly festive is the Mummers String Band Spectacular at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, January 31st. The show features 14 bands performing their mini musicals with costumes, props, and choreography. With ticket prices starting from $12.15 and going all the way up to $24.30, it's an affordable way to get into the holiday spirit.

On Main Street in Manayunk, Founders Philly Freeze-Out is taking over from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature over 20 ice sculptures, live carving demonstrations, and a winter market with food trucks and special beer offers from Founders Brewing. For those who want to indulge in some warm comfort, there's also a chowder crawl running from noon to 4 p.m., with advance tickets starting at $18.

For car enthusiasts, the Philadelphia Auto Show is back at the Pennsylvania Convention Center until February 8th. Visitors can test drive electric vehicles, tackle the Camp Jeep obstacle course, and check out custom builds in Custom Alley. Tickets start at just $20 for adults, making it an affordable outing for families or groups of friends.

On Saturday, January 31st, the Penn Museum is celebrating the Lunar New Year with CultureFest! Expect a packed day of dance performances, storytelling, Tai Chi demonstrations, and art activities, all included in the museum's admission price. The highlight of the event is a Lion Dance finale at 3:50 p.m.

Last but not least, Dry Vibes is an alternative to traditional nightlife that promises an evening of speakers, zero-proof drinks, wellness activities, and live entertainment at Billy Penn Studios from noon to 5 p.m. Tickets are available through Eventbrite, making it easy to score a spot at this unique event.

Whether you're in the mood for culture, cars, or just some comfort food, there's something for everyone in Philly this weekend.

I'm so over all these winter wonderland events... πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Like, who thought it was a good idea to charge $24.30 for a Mummers String Band show? That's just ridiculous! And don't even get me started on the Philly Freeze-Out, 20 ice sculptures is cool and all, but have you seen the prices of those chowders? $18? No thanks! 🍜

I'm actually kinda stoked about Dry Vibes though, zero-proof drinks and wellness activities sound like a total vibe for a night out. And can we talk about how weird it is that every event has to be included in their ticket price? Like, what's up with that? Can't they just make us pay separately or something? πŸ€‘

I swear, Philly's winter wonderland events are all about the money... πŸ’Έ

I'm so down to hit up that Mummers String Band Spectacular 🎢! I mean, who doesn't love a good parade with costumes and music? And $12.15 is a steal for an event like that. Plus, it's not every day you get to see some amazing talent on display in Philly 🌈. Founders Philly Freeze-Out looks pretty cool too... ice sculptures and chowder? yes please! πŸ˜‹

Plus, the Penn Museum's Lunar New Year event looks super cool 🎊 - who doesn't love a good Lion Dance? 🐯 Can't wait to check out the Philadelphia Auto Show too πŸš—, especially since they're offering free tickets for under 20 bucks! And lastly, Dry Vibes at Billy Penn Studios sounds like an amazing alternative to traditional nightlife πŸŒ™πŸ’«. Philly's got something for everyone this weekend! 😎

Omg, can't wait for the Mummers String Band Spectacular on Saturday! πŸŽΈπŸ’ƒ The costumes and choreography are always so colorful and fun to watch. I'm also super down for trying those zero-proof drinks at Dry Vibes 🍹, who needs booze when you can have wellness vibes? 😌 Founders Philly Freeze-Out sounds like an amazing way to spend the day too, especially with that chowder crawl πŸ²πŸ‘ And if my friends are into cars, we gotta check out the Philadelphia Auto Show! πŸš—πŸ’¨

You know I'm all about getting my kiddos out and about during the holidays πŸŽ„πŸ‘§ But if I'm being real, subzero wind chills can be a total bummer πŸ˜’. That being said, it sounds like there are some awesome events lined up this weekend that'll keep them entertained and warm (ish) 😊. The Mummers String Band Spectacular at Lincoln Financial Field looks like so much fun - I love how affordable the tickets are, too! And omg, a chowder crawl on Main Street in Manayunk? That's basically my idea of a winter wonderland πŸ²πŸ‘Œ. For the car enthusiasts out there (you know who you are 😜), the Philadelphia Auto Show is always a hit with my crew. We love checking out those electric vehicles and learning about sustainability πŸš€πŸ’š

🀩 I'm so over these events happening on the same day! Can't we have one festival per week? Mummers String Band Spectacular and Founders Philly Freeze-Out are gonna make my wallet cry with all those prices πŸ€‘. On the other hand, who cares about car shows when you can have a Lunar New Year celebration at the Penn Museum?! πŸŽ‰ CultureFest sounds like way more fun than driving around cars all day...

Ugh, another weekend in Philly and I'm sure it'll be freezing πŸ₯Ά. Like, who thought it was a good idea to have outdoor events when it's subzero wind chills outside? The Mummers String Band Spectacular is gonna be super crowded and expensive... 24.30 bucks for a show that's probably just a bunch of old guys strutting around in costumes πŸ€‘. And don't even get me started on the Founders Philly Freeze-Out, like who needs ice sculptures when it's freezing outside? Just give me a warm chowder and I'm good πŸ˜’. The Auto Show is alright, I guess, but it's just gonna be a bunch of old cars with fancy paint jobs πŸš—. At least CultureFest at the Penn Museum seems kinda cool, but I mean, who's really into Lion Dance performances? And Dry Vibes sounds like just another overpriced club night... yeah, I'll pass on that one too 😴.

πŸ’‘ I'm loving how Philly is pulling out all the stops to make Winter Wonderland happen despite the cold! That Mummers String Band Spectacular sounds like a blast (literally, with all that cheering) and I'm intrigued by the ice sculptures and chowder crawl in Manayunk... have you been to either of those events before? πŸ€” The Philly Auto Show looks like a fun way to spend the day, especially for families or car enthusiasts. And on the other end of the spectrum, the Dry Vibes event sounds like just what I need after a long week – all that wellness and zero-proof drinks have me sold! 😌

πŸ€” So Philly is gettin' all festive with subzero temps ❄️. Mummers String Band Spectacular sounds like a blast 🎸! Anyone up for ice sculptures and live carvin' demos? 🎨 Founders Philly Freeze-Out is the place to be!

But if you're feelin' warm & cozy, the chowder crawl 🍲 on Main Street in Manayunk is a great option. And for all you car enthusiasts πŸš— out there, the Philadelphia Auto Show has got electric vehicles to test drive and custom builds that'll blow your mind πŸ’₯!

Penn Museum's Lunar New Year celebration looks like a real cultural fest πŸŽ‰, with dance performances, storytelling, and art activities. Plus, who doesn't love a good Lion Dance finale? 🐯

Lastly, if you're lookin' for somethin' different, Dry Vibes is the way to go 🌸! Zero-proof drinks, wellness activities, and live entertainment - what's not to like? 😎

I'm so down for this winter wonderland vibe πŸŽ„β„οΈ! It's amazing how Philly can turn even subzero wind chills into a fun-filled adventure. I mean, who needs sunshine when you've got Mummers String Band Spectaculars, ice sculptures, and car shows? πŸ˜‚ For me, it's all about embracing the coziness of winter – whether that means warming up with some delicious chowder or getting your zen on at Dry Vibes πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ. What I love most is how Philly makes its residents (and visitors!) feel like they're part of something bigger than themselves. It's not just a weekend, it's an experience πŸŽ‰.
