Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce Hosts Webinar on Agriculture and Open Space
The Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority will be presenting an update on its Agricultural Strategic Plan at a webinar scheduled for January 20. The authority aims to define its role in supporting local agriculture, with the goal of promoting sustainable farming practices.
During the webinar, Anna Regalado, the authority's agricultural specialist, will outline the key objectives of the plan and explain how public input, as well as feedback from farmers, farmworkers, and ranchers, will shape its development. Separately, the Open Space Authority has also announced an application process for a vacant seat on its board. The appointment will take place on January 22, following the December 11 meeting where Vicki Alexander resigned as District 5 Director. The selected individual will complete the remainder of Alexander's term, which expires in December. The deadline to apply is Friday, January 16.
To be eligible for this position, applicants must be at least 18 years old and registered voters in Santa Clara County, with residency within the authority's District 5 boundaries. Application forms are available online through openspaceauthority.org/board-directors.

i mean its awesome that they're involving farmers and farmworkers in the planning process, cant wait to hear more about their agricultural strategic plan on jan 20

they're talkin bout sustainable farming practices n how to support local farmers n stuff... it sounds like a total game changer for our community! 
also, theres an open spot on the board of directors n i think we should totally get more people involved in decision makin' process... its all about representation & makin sure everyones voice is heard 
. Who needs to sit in front of a screen and listen to someone talk about their favorite topic? Can't we just meet up in person or video call each other instead? This whole webinar thing just seems like an excuse for people to procrastinate and avoid actual human interaction

it could be a power play, you know? Like, one entity gets all the benefits of promoting sustainable farming practices and the other one just gets to sit on the board and decide who's in charge. It feels like they're more interested in having someone to toe the line for them rather than actually listening to farmers and ranchers. Plus, what about the whole public input thing? Are we really gonna see some meaningful changes if it's all just a front for their own agenda?
