Three Marty McFlys Take Stage Together for Back to the Future 40th Anniversary Celebration
For one night only, fans of the iconic musical will witness a rare treat - three actors playing the role of Marty McFly. On December 3rd at London's Adelphi theatre, Olly Dobson and Ben Joyce, two of the original lead actors, will share the part with current star Caden Brauch in a special celebration marking the 40th anniversary of the film's release.
The show begins with Joyce as the teenage Marty before Brauch takes over for the middle section, and finally Dobson ends in the role. All three actors will come together to perform the final number, Back in Time, a thrilling conclusion to this unique performance.
"It's such a thrill to return to this production," said Dobson, who originally performed the part at the Manchester Opera House in 2020 and later at the Adelphi's West End premiere. "To be stepping back into Marty's shoes for one night only is super exciting." Dobson won an Olivier award nomination for best actor in a musical for his portrayal.
Similarly, Joyce expressed his enthusiasm for performing alongside Dobson and Brauch, saying, "I'm so excited to perform alongside both Olly and Caden β it's not often you get three Martys on one stage!" His performance earned him a WhatsOnStage award nomination for best takeover.
This unique guest appearance is part of the show's celebrations, which also included a cameo from fashion expert Gok Wan as Principal Strickland. The special event follows in the footsteps of other musicals, such as Les MisΓ©rables and Wicked, which have brought together stars to mark their anniversaries.
