Black Friday shoppers line up overnight waiting for deals at Bass Pro Shops in San Jose

Black Friday shopping frenzy hits San Jose, with thousands camping out overnight for deals.

In a show of dedication to snagging the best bargains, hundreds of bargain hunters waited patiently outside Bass Pro Shops in San Jose on the eve of Black Friday, some as early as 7:30 p.m. Thursday night. The store's management expects about 450 people to arrive by morning, which is an unusually high number for a shopping event.

Some shoppers took extreme measures to secure their spot, such as driving hours to get to the store or bundling up in blankets and sleeping bags while waiting in line. Two women, who traveled from Templeton, California, spent two and a half hours on the road just to be among the first 250 customers eligible for gift cards worth up to $500.

The store had offered various deals, including discounts of up to 80% off, making it an attractive destination for thrifty shoppers. To add to the excitement, some customers stood a chance to win gift cards with higher values while they waited in line.

As the crowds gathered outside Bass Pro Shops, the shopping event marked one of the biggest Black Friday experiences in recent years for the store, suggesting that shoppers are eager to capitalize on these once-a-year deals.

πŸ“Š I'm shocked by how many people are willing to spend hours camping out for some discounts 🀯! According to Google Trends, this year's Black Friday sales are expected to hit $729 billion in the US alone πŸ’Έ. That's a 3% increase from last year πŸ“ˆ. The number of online shoppers is also on the rise, with 66% of Americans planning to shop online on Black Friday πŸ›οΈ.

I've been checking out some stats on Reddit and it seems like people are willing to go above and beyond for those deals πŸ’Έ. Like, did you know that the average American adult has around $30,000 in holiday debt? πŸ€‘ Maybe we should be focusing on finding ways to reduce that number instead of just trying to snag a bargain πŸ’Έ.

Anyway, I'm impressed by the enthusiasm of these shoppers 😎. The store's social media is blowing up with updates and behind-the-scenes peeks πŸ‘€. It'll be interesting to see how this compares to past years' Black Friday events πŸ“Š.

Ugh I don’t usually comment but... I'm so done with this whole Black Friday thing 🀯. Thousands of people camping out overnight just to get some discounts? It's wild. Like, what's the point of having a family dinner or spending time with friends when you can be stuck in line for hours waiting for something that's probably going to break soon anyway πŸ˜’. And don't even get me started on the crazy measures these people took to secure their spot... driving for hours just to sleep on the sidewalk? Come on πŸ€ͺ. I'm all about saving money, but at what cost, you know?

idk what's so special about black friday anymore lol, people literally camping out overnight just for some discounts πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ it's like they're more excited about the thrill of waiting in line than the actual savings πŸ˜‚ and 2.5 hours on the road from templeton just to wait in line? that's just crazy talk! πŸš—πŸ’¨ and what's with all these people competing for a few hundred bucks? can't we just get by without this kind of hype? πŸ€‘

I'm low-key impressed by these crazy shoppers 🀯! 2.5 hours on the road just to get $500 gift cards? That's dedication πŸ’Έ! I guess some people really want those sweet discounts πŸ˜‚. On a more serious note, it's kinda sad that people would go through so much stress and discomfort for a shopping event. I mean, can't we all just chill and enjoy the savings without camping out in the cold ❄️? Anyway, I'm sure Bass Pro Shops is gonna make a killing on Black Friday πŸ˜…!

idk why ppl go thru so much trouble just 4 some discounts lol πŸ€‘πŸ˜΄ they're literally camping out like a bunch of nomads or smthn. and 2.5 hours drive from cali? bruv, that's mental πŸš—πŸ’¨ i mean, i get it if u really wanna save that dough, but at what cost? ur not even gettin the most important things in life like a good cuppa coffee or a decent night's sleep πŸ˜΄β˜•οΈ bass pro shops should probs just offer online shopping options 4 those who dont wanna go thru all this drama 🀣

People just want to feel like part of something big πŸ˜… I don't get why they gotta camp out overnight tho... can't it wait till morning? πŸ€” At least they got some awesome deals, I guess πŸ’Έ

man i love how people get so hyped about black friday 🀣! i mean, who needs sleep when you can score some crazy good deals? πŸ›οΈ those two ladies drove like 2 hours just for a chance at some gift cards lol what's not to love about that? πŸ˜‚ and the fact that people are willing to rough it by camping out overnight shows how excited they are to get their hands on those discounts. i'm actually kinda jealous, maybe next year i'll join the party! πŸŽ‰

omg, i'm shocked people would camp out overnight for black friday 🀯 like, don't they get tired or cold? i dont get why some ppl would drive hours just to wait in line for a sale... 80% off is pretty good, but is it really worth freezing urself solid? πŸ˜‚ and the fact that u can win more gift cards while waiting is just crazy πŸ€‘ its definitely a wild scene out there. i'm glad no one got hurt, thats the most important thing.

omg u gotta love ppl who can spend hrs waitin 4 some discounts πŸ˜‚πŸ›οΈ they're literally willin to rough it just 2 get those sweet deals πŸ’Έ i mean who needs sleep when u can score 80% off, rite? 🀣 and these two gals drove like 5hrs from Cali 2 set up shop in line, that's dedication level 10 πŸ’ͺ🏽. what's not 2 love about Black Friday shopping frenzy tho? πŸŽ‰ it's like a whole different world out there πŸ˜†

man, can you believe people will go to such lengths for a sale 🀯? 80% off is crazy and winning gift cards just adds to the thrill πŸ’Έ. it's like they're more excited about scoring a deal than actually spending time with their families on black friday... no hate, just observing the consumerist vibe πŸ˜’. i wonder what other countries do for their version of black friday πŸ€”. are there similar events or do people take things easy? πŸ‘€

OMG, LIKE I'M NOT SURPRISED THAT PEOPLE WOULD CAMP OUT FOR BLACK FRIDAY DEALS!!! IT'S LIKE THEY SAY, "A BARGAIN IS A BARGAIN" AND THESE GUYS ARE WILLING TO GO THE EXTRA MILE TO GET THEM!!! I MEAN, I'D TOTALLY DO THE SAME IF I KNEW ABOUT SOME AMAZING DEALS LIKE 80% OFF!!! IT'S JUST SO AWESOME TO SEE PEOPLE BEING PATIENT AND DEDICATED. I FEEL BAD FOR THE TWO GIRLS WHO TRAVELED FROM CALIFORNIA JUST TO GET A HEAD START, BUT AT THE SAME TIME, I GET IT, THEY WANT THOSE $500 GIFT CARDS!!! ANYWAY, I THINK THIS SHOWCASES HOW WELL-OFF OUR SHOPPING CULTURE IS IN THE US πŸ›οΈπŸ˜…

man this black friday thing is wild 🀯 think about it, people willing to camp out overnight just to get some discounts... it's like we're living in a world where material possessions have become our ultimate goal, where the value of a good deal is more important than human comfort and well-being. i mean, what's the real cost of these bargains? are we really saving money or just perpetuating this cycle of consumption? and what does it say about us as individuals that we're willing to go to such extreme lengths to get our hands on stuff we don't even need? πŸ€”
