Blackhawks send rookie Nick Lardis to AHL in forward-group shakeup amid scoring drought

Blackhawks Send Rookie Nick Lardis to AHL Amid Scoring Drought

In a bid to inject some life into their struggling offense, the Blackhawks have sent rookie forward Nick Lardis back to the American Hockey League (AHL). The 20-year-old, who had five goals and two assists in his first 21 games with the team, was reassigned to Rockford on Monday as part of a line-shuffling move.

Lardis's demotion comes after a scoring drought that has seen the Blackhawks go nine games without finding the back of the net. The team is in dire need of a spark, and coach Jeff Blashill is hoping that by giving Lardis more ice time and responsibility in Rockford, he can rediscover his form.

Lardis's departure from the NHL roster was not due to poor performance, but rather a decision made by general manager Kyle Davidson. The team has struggled with a surplus of forwards, which has forced them to make some tough decisions about player development.

"I thought [Lardis] got more confident early on," Blashill said. "He's done a good job of making a first impression to the coaching staff." However, the rookie has averaged only 12 minutes and 39 seconds of ice time per game, which is not enough for him to make an impact.

Meanwhile, Connor Bedard and Frank Nazar are set to join Teuvo Teravainen on the team's top line, while Jason Dickinson will slide down to the third line alongside Oliver Moore. Andre Burakovsky has been demoted to the third line due to his struggles with turnovers and miscues.

The Blackhawks' forward lines have been a source of frustration for the team, who are struggling to score goals consistently. However, Blashill remains optimistic that he can get the unit to gel and start producing more offense.

"We're fast not only because we can skate fast," Dickinson said. "But [also] because we can play fast together when we're connected and we understand our routes and we're predictable to one another."

The Blackhawks have a tough week ahead of them, with three games against the Wild, Penguins, and Blue Jackets on the horizon. They will need to find some consistency in their play if they hope to turn their season around.

In other news, Jason Dickinson has expressed his openness to being traded before the March 6 deadline. However, he remains committed to the team and wants to see them succeed.

"I love those kids," Dickinson said. "We've got a great group of guys here, and I'm excited to see what we can do this season."

Connor Bedard, on the other hand, is struggling to find his footing since returning from shoulder surgery. He has only four points in eight games and was held in check again Sunday in a 5-1 loss to the Panthers.

The Blackhawks' next game is against the Wild on Tuesday. They will need to find some consistency and come out swinging if they hope to turn their season around.

πŸ€” The Blackhawks are really struggling this season, I mean, who doesn't love watching a good hockey game? But seriously, it's like they're stuck in neutral and can't seem to get that spark they need. Sending Nick Lardis back to the AHL might just be the push they need, you know? Like, sometimes you gotta take a step back to move forward, right?

I mean, we all knew the team had depth issues with forwards, so it's not like this is completely out of left field. But still, it's frustrating for fans who are invested in watching these guys play. The fact that Connor Bedard is struggling since coming back from shoulder surgery just adds to the woes.

The thing is, though, hockey's a tough sport and injuries happen. And then there's the part where you gotta re-evaluate your strategy and figure out what's not working. Like, it sounds like coach Blashill thinks Lardis has potential, but we need to see him develop that confidence on the ice.

The trade rumors are always interesting, too. I mean, Jason Dickinson being open to being traded is definitely something to keep an eye on. But for now, it's all about getting these guys back on track and finding that consistency they're so desperate for.

Anyway, what do you think? Are you with the Blackhawks through thick and thin? 😊

I feel for Lardis, dude... he's got so much potential, but it's tough when you're getting scratched from the NHL roster after just a few games πŸ€•. It's not like he's underperforming or anything, he's just not getting enough ice time to make an impact. The team needs some fresh blood and a spark, and sending him down to the AHL might be just what they need πŸ”„.

And can you believe Dickinson is open to being traded? 🀯 I get that he's struggling, but trade him now? That's gonna hurt his confidence and reputation for sure πŸ˜”. And Bedard's shoulder surgery really seems to have set him back... he was so promising before that, and now he's just not getting it done πŸ’”.

The thing is, these players are in a tough spot, and it's not easy being in the NHL 🌟. One bad game can get you benched or even sent down to the AHL. But at the same time, they need to step up their game if they want to compete with these top teams πŸ’ͺ.

The team needs to figure out what's going on and fix it ASAP, because this losing streak is not gonna end itself 😩. They gotta get back on track and start playing some hockey πŸ’οΈ!

😐 So the Hawks are trying to fix their offense issues by sending Lardis back to the AHL πŸ€” I don't think it's a bad move, but it's hard to tell when the kid is only getting 12 minutes of ice time per game πŸ˜• The team needs some spark and if they can get him to score again, that'd be great πŸ’ͺ But maybe it's just a case of "too many cooks in the kitchen" 🍳 And what's with Dickinson wanting to be traded? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ He seems like a solid player, but I guess you never know... πŸ€‘

πŸ€” so yeah, I think it's pretty clear that Lardis wasn't really struggling enough to warrant being sent down. 12 minutes and 39 seconds of ice time per game is actually kinda decent for a rookie. And I don't think Blashill's whole "he got more confident early on" thing is entirely true. I mean, if he was doing so well, why would they need to send him back to the AHL? Plus, it seems like this line-shuffling move is just a bunch of random stuff that's not really gonna help their scoring drought... πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

so the blackhawks are trying to shake things up with nick lardis, but sending him down to the AHL might not be the answer... i mean, he's only 20 and had a decent start, but now it's like he's being benched because of a scoring drought πŸ€”. it's all about finding that spark, right? but what if it's just a matter of adjusting his role on the team? or is this just a case of too many forwards for one roster πŸ€‘. and what about connor bedard? should he be held accountable for not living up to expectations after coming back from shoulder surgery πŸ’ͺ.

πŸ€” so the blackhawks are having a rough time scoring goals... it's not like they're playing bad hockey or anything, but just can't seem to get things going in front of the net 🚫 and now they've sent one of their rookies back down to the AHL... i think that's a decent move tho? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ gotta give the kid some more time to develop his skills and work on his game before he gets thrust into a high-pressure situation 😬

anyway, it's not all bad news... they've got some promising young players like bedard and nazar who are trying to make an impact 🌟 and dickinson is still committed to the team πŸ™ so fingers crossed they can turn their season around 🀞

ugh, another rookie sent down to the minors because of a scoring drought πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. like, what's the point of having a top draft pick if you're just gonna dump him in the AHL? Lardis was doing okay at first but then things gotta change and now he's the one getting benched... poor kid πŸ€•. Blackhawks need to figure out this line thing before it's too late because 3 games against the Wild, Penguins, and Blue Jackets doesn't sound like a walk in the park 😬

πŸ€” the blackhawks are really struggling with their lines right now... i think coach blashill has made some good moves but it's not working yet πŸ’οΈ. lardis being sent down to the AHL might be a good move, he needs more ice time and responsibility to get his game going again βͺ. connor bedard is having a tough time since coming back from injury, hopefully he gets some more time on the ice and can find his rhythm πŸ€•. it's gonna be interesting to see how this all plays out, fingers crossed for the blackhawks! πŸ‘

omg, i'm so confused about this decision πŸ€”! sending nick lardis back to AHL feels like a waste of potential, u think he's just gonna be stuck in the minors forever? πŸ€• at least give him some more ice time and try to get his confidence back up. coach blashill said he got more confident early on, but still avg'd only 12 min of ice time per game... that's not enough! πŸ’” and what about connor bedard? he just came back from shoulder surgery and now he's struggling to find his footing πŸ€• can't they just give him a chance to get back in the zone? 😩

omg i'm literally dying rn lol why do u gotta demote Nick Lardis πŸ€” coach Jeff Blashill's decision 2 send him back 2 the AHL is just a lil weird tbh, like he was doin pretty ok at 1st... but idc lol, i still got faith in my Blackhawks πŸ¦πŸ’οΈ! they'll get it together, we'll see more goals from them soon πŸ’ͺ Connor Bedard & Frank Nazar r gonna save the day 😎 & Jason Dickinson's all like "i'm open 2 be trad" πŸ€‘ but idk lol, i think he's a keeper πŸ€—

πŸ€” I'm kinda feeling bad for Lardis, you know? He's got some potential but just hasn't been getting the ice time he needs. I get it, coach wants him to develop more in Rockford, and that makes sense. But still, it's tough to see a rookie get sent down when things aren't going so great up here πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. The Blackhawks need some life, and Lardis could've been the spark they needed πŸš€πŸ’₯. Guess only time will tell if he can turn it around in Rockford πŸ’ͺ

Ugh, it's like watching an old VHS tape that always skips at the worst parts... I mean, Nick Lardis gets sent down to the AHL after scoring drought, what's next? πŸ€” They gotta mix things up and bring back some of those young guns from the Rockford IceHogs. I remember when Patrick Kane was a rookie and he lit it up in his first season... now he's a pro... or so it seems πŸ˜’. Coach Blashill's trying to shake things up, but sometimes you gotta let guys develop before throwing them into the fray. And Jason Dickinson is like, "Hey, I'm open to being traded"... yeah, 'cause that never ends well πŸ’”. Connor Bedard's shoulder surgery was a bummer... hope he gets back on track soon 🀞. We'll see how it all plays out for the Hawks... fingers crossed they can turn their season around πŸ¦†

the blackhawks are really struggling right now πŸ€”, i mean they're basically trying everything to get their offense going again. sending a rookie back to the AHL is a big move, but you gotta wonder if it's gonna help them break out of this slump. i think coach blashill has his finger on the pulse though - giving lardis more ice time and responsibility in rockford might just be what he needs to find his form again πŸ’‘

on the other hand, the top line is looking pretty strong with bedard and nazar joining teravainen 🌟, but dickinson's struggles are a concern. i love that he's open to being traded if it means bettering the team's chances though - that shows a lot of class from him πŸ™

overall, the blackhawks have a tough week ahead of them, and they'll need to find consistency ASAP or risk falling further behind in the standings ⏰.

awww man, poor Nick Lardis πŸ˜”... it's not easy being demoted from the big leagues πŸ’”. I'm sure he was hoping to make a bigger impact on the team 🀞. But hey, Rockford is gonna be his chance to shine again πŸ”₯! and who knows maybe he'll rediscover that form coach Blashill is talking about πŸ’‘.

and omg, Jason Dickinson being open to trade? 😱... I hope it's not a sign of things to come for the team πŸ€•. He seems like such a cool guy too 😊. Fingers crossed they can turn their season around and show everyone what they're made of πŸ’ͺ!

I feel bad for Nick Lardis, he's only 20 and getting sent back to the AHL already πŸ€•. I get that the Blackhawks are struggling with forwards, but it's gotta be tough on a young kid like him who was having some great moments earlier in the season. Coach Blashill seems like a nice guy, hoping Lardis will figure things out in Rockford, maybe he just needs a little more time and ice time πŸ’οΈ. The team's gonna need to make some big changes if they wanna turn their season around, hopefully these line shuffles help them find some consistency πŸ”.

man i dont get it why they sent lardis back to AHL already he was scoring like 5 goals a game and now hes just gonna chill in rockford for weeks waiting for another chance πŸ€”πŸ˜’

ugh, Blackhawks are really struggling right now πŸ€•... just sent rookie Nick Lardis back to AHL after scoring drought of 9 games πŸ“‰ can't say I'm surprised though... team needs a spark and coach is trying different lines hoping it'll work out πŸ”„ meanwhile Connor Bedard's having a tough time coming back from shoulder surgery πŸ’” and Jason Dickinson is open to being traded before deadline 🀝 not sure if anyone will take him at this point 😐

OMG 😱, I'm like totally disappointed in this move by the Blackhawks πŸ€”! Lardis was doin great at first and now he's just sitin back in the AHL? πŸ“‰ It doesn't make sense, you know? He had some good games already and then just gets sent down? I feel bad for the kid, but Coach Blashill is probably right tho... or is he? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

I'm hyped about Connor Bedard though 🎯! He's got that fire in him and I know he's gonna make an impact on this team. And Teuvo Teravainen on the top line? πŸ”₯ That's gonna be some magic right there! My heart belongs to the Blackhawks, even when they're struggling πŸ’”
