Brighton 1-1 West Ham: Georginio Rutter scores in stoppage time to cancel out Jarrod Bowen strike

Brighton and West Ham United have shared the spoils in a thrilling 1-1 draw at the Amex Stadium. Jarrod Bowen's stunning solo effort seemed to seal the win for the Hammers, but Georginio Rutter struck late to earn Brighton a point.

Bowen's goal was an incredible individual performance that left the crowd and Brighton players stunned. The West Ham forward showed his pace and skill as he slalomed past several defenders before slotting the ball home in one swift motion.

However, Brighton were denied a second chance by a double save from goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen. But just when it seemed like the game was done for the Seagulls, Rutter popped up with a stoppage-time equalizer to send the crowd wild.

The result means that West Ham remain in the bottom three, but they have lost only one of their last six games. Brighton, meanwhile, have now gained 11 points from losing positions this season - more than Aston Villa and Sunderland.

Brighton boss Fabian Hürzeler was left disappointed by his side's performance, saying "we made it easy for West Ham" after failing to create chances in the first half. Meanwhile, Nuno Espirito Santo was baffled by the decision to award Brighton a goal from what he saw as a clear handball.

The draw is a significant result for both teams, with Brighton's new manager Hürzeler hoping that his side can build on this performance and create more scoring opportunities in the coming weeks. For West Ham, it's just another tough road to recovery after a string of disappointing results.

I gotta say, what a game! 🤯 Bowen's goal was insane, I mean who expects that kind of skill from an opponent? 😲 But Brighton just didn't seem to be able to create any chances in the first half and then Rutter pops up out of nowhere to equalize... it's like they were waiting for him to do something!

I'm not sure what Nuno was thinking with that handball call though, seems pretty clear cut. 🤔 But at the same time, Brighton's performance after that goal was so much better than in the first half, shows some good signs of improvement.

It's a tough road ahead for West Ham, they can't afford to lose again if they wanna stay up, but they've shown some fight lately... maybe this result will give them a bit of a boost? 🤞

omg what a game!!! Bowen's goal was insane!!!! 😍 I'm so hyped for Brighton now they're building momentum and getting those points from losing positions 🤩 11 points is huge! And West Ham are still in the mix despite that crazy equalizer 💪 Nuno Espirito Santo needs to review that handball call tho 🤷‍♂️

OMG, what a match!!! 🤯 I think Brighton were super lucky to get that point! 😅 They literally gave away free goals left and right... like, Nuno Espirito Santo was totally right about the handball. 😂 And that Bart Verbruggen is a lifesaver! 👏 The crowd must have been going wild at the end. 🌟 Brighton's new manager Fabian Hürzeler needs to sort out his team's defense ASAP or they're gonna get thrashed again. 💔

I'm still trying to wrap my head around Rutter's goal 🤯. I mean, was it really a handball? Nuno Espirito Santo seemed pretty convinced that it was out, but Brighton got the call 😕. And what's with this "we made it easy for West Ham" comment from Hürzeler? Is he not taking responsibility for his team's performance at all? 🤔 It seems like a pretty convenient excuse if you ask me...

I think the takeaway from this match is that even when things seem like they're going one way - in this case, Jarrod Bowen's goal seemed to seal the win for West Ham 🤯 - life has a way of surprising us. Brighton came from behind and got their point, just like we all do sometimes. It's easy to get discouraged and think "oh no, I've failed" 💔 but that's when we need to dig deep and find the strength to keep going. For West Ham, it's tough after a string of disappointing results 😬 but they can't give up hope - as Brighton showed, even with a new manager in charge, you can turn things around.

omg what a game!!! 😂 i mean i feel bad for west ham they're still stuck at the bottom but hey at least their fans have each other to vent about 🤣👍 bart verbruggen is like the real MVP tho he saved those two balls and basically won the game for brighton 💪. georginio rutter's goal was insane too i mean who needs a team when you can just run past everyone and score? 😂 meanwhile fabian hürzeler is just over here like "we made it easy for west ham" lol maybe he should've brought his a-game instead of bringing his b-team 👎🏼. anyhoo can't wait to see what these teams do next! 🤔

omg I'm loving this back and forth between Brighton & West Ham 😂🏆 the way Rutter scored that equalizer was insane! 🤯 bart verbruggen's double save was like wow what a goalkeeper 🙌 but at the same time fabian hürzeler is right we didn't create enough chances in that first half 😳 and nuno espirito santo got roasted on social media for saying it was a handball 💁‍♂️ anyway i'm hyped for brighton's new manager, lets see if he can get them into the top 6 🤞

I'm so over how some of these refs just make up their own rules 🙄. Like, Nuno Espirito Santo saying that was a handball? Come on! If it was that clear, why didn't the linesman spot it in time? 🤔 And what's with Brighton's defense just letting Bowen get past them like he was playing Mario Kart? 😂 Anyway, both teams played some decent footy, but gotta say, West Ham's results have been pretty rough lately... still can't believe they're stuck at the bottom 🚨.

I'm not sure what's going on at West Ham... that goal from Jarrod Bowen was insane! He totally outpaced everyone on the field 🤯. But you'd think they'd still be struggling if their goalkeeper wasn't having an off day . And Brighton getting a point like that in the last minute? Crazy! Those defenders are gonna sleepwalk into relegation 😂. I mean, what's with all these draws lately? Can't we get some actual wins instead of just settling for points?

I gotta say, I'm loving how Brighton is turning their season around 🤩🔥. They've been getting some major props for coming back from losing positions and now they're building momentum. It's not always pretty, but 11 points from those situations? That's a huge statement made by this team! 😂

But what's up with West Ham, tho? Losing only one of their last six games isn't a bad thing, but they still can't seem to put together a winning streak 🤷‍♂️. They need to figure out how to close out those games if they wanna make some noise in the league.

And btw, I'm kinda loving the controversy surrounding that handball call 🙄. Nuno Espirito Santo's got a point, but at the same time, Brighton did score a legit goal 😂. It's all part of the game, right?

🤯 That was one crazy match! 😱 Bowen's goal was pure magic 💫, but Rutter's equalizer at the end was just wild 🌪️. Brighton's new manager is gonna have to fix those first half blues ASAP ⏰, or they'll be stuck in neutral for a while 🚗.

omg what an insane game at the Amex Stadium 🤯! i'm loving jarrod bowen's skills, he's like a little superhero out there 🔥👏 but georginio rutter's equalizer was pure madness 😱!! how does that goal not get recognized as a handball by nuno? 🤔 anyway, it's defo good news for brighton fans that they're gaining points from losing positions - maybe this is the turning point for them? 🌟 and west ham are still struggling... gotta keep an eye on fabian hürzeler, could he be the spark his team needs? ⚡

I'm still trying to process how thrilling that game was 🤯! That solo effort from Jarrod Bowen is one for the ages - I mean, who else can make defenders look like statues with such ease? 😂 On the other hand, Brighton's Georginio Rutter is an absolute sniper, I love how he popped up at the right time to snatch that equalizer. 🎯

It's crazy to think that West Ham are still struggling after that draw, while Brighton have suddenly become a dark horse in the league 😲. I'm intrigued to see how this new manager Hürzeler will shape the team - they seem like they're building momentum now. 💪 What a game, and what a season it's shaping up to be! 🎉

omg did u catch that goal by jarrod bowen it was like wow what a skill 🤯🏟️ i mean i dont really get why they didnt count that as a handball tho like nuno espirito santo said 🙄 and isnt west ham having a bad run or something? 2 games in a row without a win lol 😅 anyway im glad brighton got a point cuz thats 11 points from losing positions now! 🤩

I dont get why Brighton got that point 🤔... i mean Bowen's goal was insane, but then Rutter just pops up out of nowhere like he's trying to be a superhero 🔥😂. But seriously, i think West Ham are due for a win at some point soon. They've been playing decent football lately and they need this sort of result to lift their morale. As for Brighton, its clear that Fabian Hürzeler needs to figure out how to create more chances... 11 points from losing positions is not bad, but its just not enough 🤷‍♂️. And i'm still confused about that handball decision 😂👀

I'm still reeling from that insane goal by Jarrod Bowen 🤯! I mean, who needs training sessions when you've got talent like that? 😂 And then for Brighton to come back and equalize in the last minute... what a rollercoaster ride of emotions for both sets of fans! 🎢

I feel bad for West Ham's manager Nuno Espirito Santo, he's gotta be wondering what went wrong with that handball call 🤔. But you can't take points away from Brighton, they deserved that equalizer.

It's been a wild few weeks in the Premier League, and both teams are showing some real grit and determination 💪. Can we see more of that kind of intensity from West Ham? I think so! 😊 And for Brighton, this is just the start of something special... watch out, guys! 🔜

omg u gotta see jarrod bowen's goal 🤯 it was like he conjured up magic outta thin air!!! i mean i know westerham are still in the bottom three but this is defo a momentum booster for them, and what a statement game from georginio rutter 🙌 those 11 points gained by brighton from losing positions? insane! fabian huerzeler's got some work to do tho 😅
