Bulls continue overhaul, trade Coby White to Hornets — and they're not done

The Chicago Bulls continued their overhaul, parting ways with Coby White to send him and fellow guard Mike Conley Jr. to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Collin Sexton, Ousmane Dieng, three second-round picks, and what is expected to be the return of a draft pick from the Thunder's 2025 first round draft selection that was already allocated.

The move comes just hours after Nikola Vucevic was traded to the Boston Celtics for Anfernee Simons and a swap of second-round picks. Kevin Huerter also went to the Pistons in another blockbuster deal, leaving the Bulls small and short-handed.

White, who had been with the Bulls since 2018-19, was vocal about his admiration for Hornets sharpshooter Kon Knueppel, describing him as "The Rook". However, it appears White's time in Chicago is coming to an end. He will be reunited with Knueppel on one of the NBA's hottest teams.

Coach Billy Donovan acknowledged that the Bulls' front office has been working tirelessly to make moves, saying that the deadline may only yield the first iteration of this roster rebuild.

Bulls executive vice president Arturas Karnisovas is believed to have done a solid job by sending Vucevic to an Eastern Conference contender. The Bulls are still looking at other players and have expressed interest in Zion Williamson's potential return from injury, among other targets.

For now, the Bulls will be looking to fill some glaring gaps on their roster while trying to navigate this fluid trade deadline period.

man i feel like the bulls are selling off all their good players 🤯 they gotta rebuild but its gonna take time... coby white was a solid player and mike conley too, so why let them go? 🤔 collin sexton is cool, but hes not that deep in the bench... i think arturas karnisovas did okay with trading vucevic tho, at least they got some young talent coming in... now its all about Zion williamson and how long is he gonna be out? 🙏

Man, I'm feeling a bit down about Coby White's departure 🤕. It's like, you get him for your team, and then he's just... gone 💔. And now he's gonna be part of that super talented Charlotte Hornets squad 🌃. I mean, it's not all bad, right? He'll have the chance to prove himself alongside some of the best players in the league. But at the same time, you can't help but think about what could've been for him here in Chicago 🤔. Was he really meant to be with us from the start? Did we just lose sight of what we wanted to build with him? I guess that's the thing about change and growth – it's all part of the journey, right? We'll just have to see how things play out for Coby now 🤞.

🤔 I'm low-key surprised they're moving on from Coby White so fast 🙃. He seemed like he was just getting settled in Chicago after that injury bug bit him. Guess the Bulls want to go all-in for Zion's return 💪? Meanwhile, this trade makes me think about how teams are always looking to upgrade their shooting game... Collin Sexton and Ousmane Dieng aren't bad pieces to add to the mix, but I'm curious to see how White fits in with Knueppel 🤔. The Bulls' front office seems like they're playing it smart, though - getting rid of Vucevic for a solid player like Anfernee Simons 👍

Man I'm so done with Coby White... thought he was a solid piece for the Bulls, but I guess that's not the case anymore 🤦‍♂️. Trading him away just hours after Nikola Vucevic went to Boston doesn't exactly fill me with hope for this season. They need some big names to make a real push for the playoffs. And what's up with this draft pick situation? So they're getting back some kind of compensation, but it's not like it makes up for losing White. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how the rest of the trade deadline shakes out 🤔💡

"Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it." The Bulls' trade situation is like that – they're not done yet! They've got big changes ahead, but with a solid front office, I think they'll get back on track soon 🤔💪

I'm kinda surprised by the Coby White trade tbh 🤔 it feels like they're clearing out space but also making a move for the future? The return of Collin Sexton is a good pick-up I guess, he's got some potential 🌟, and Ousmane Dieng could be a nice addition too 👍. But what about Zion Williamson? 🤷‍♂️ I think they need someone like him to really shake things up on that roster.

I'm also not sure if sending Vucevic away is the best move 🤔 it's one thing to get an upgrade, but another thing entirely to lose a big man who can make an impact. And what about Kevin Huerter? 😒 I don't see how trading him helps their short-term situation at all.

I think this trade deadline period is gonna be super interesting to watch 👀 the Bulls seem like they're trying to do everything at once, but it's hard to tell if that's gonna pay off 🤞

Ugh, I don't know about this latest move by the Bulls... Losing Coby White for Collin Sexton is a pretty big drop in my opinion 🤔. I mean, Sexton's got some potential, but he's still unproven and I'm not sure how well he'll mesh with their existing roster. And what's up with trading away so many picks? It feels like they're just getting rid of all the assets they built up over time 😒. I guess you can say they're trying to rebuild, but it just feels like they're making the same mistakes over and over again...

I'm intrigued by the Bulls' aggressive rebuilding efforts 🤔. It seems like they're prioritizing talent acquisition over short-term stability, which is a strategic move for a team looking to regain competitiveness in the East 🏀. By trading away some of their younger assets (Coby White), they're creating space to bring in more seasoned veterans and bolster their roster.

The trade with the Hornets, in particular, looks like a shrewd move - sending Coby White to reunite with Kon Knueppel is a win-win for both parties 🤝. As for Coach Donovan's comment about this being the "first iteration of this roster rebuild", I think he's right 👍. The Bulls' front office has been active, and it'll be interesting to see how their new roster shapes up in the coming months.

One thing that concerns me is the lack of clarity around Zion Williamson's potential return from injury 🤕. If they're serious about building a contender, they need to get him healthy and on the court ASAP. Until then, the Bulls will have to navigate this trade deadline period with some unknown variables ⚖️.

Man, Bulls are getting shook up 🤯! I think Coby White was always a long shot to make it work here, especially after all the drama he got into last season 😒. Now that he's off to Charlotte, we'll see how far they can take him and Kon Knueppel together 💪. The Bulls need some serious rebuilding, maybe Arturas Karnisovas' deal with Boston was a good step in the right direction? 🤔 Still got my eye on Zion Williamson, if that guy gets healthy, he's gonna be a game-changer 🔥

I'm low-key worried about our young guns in Chicago 🤔. They're making moves left and right, but are they building for the future or just playing defense? Coby White's departure is a big one, he had some great moments on that court 💪. I think Karnisovas was smart to move Vucevic to the Celtics, it shows he's thinking about the bigger picture 📈. But now they've got some holes to fill and I'm not sure if Zion will even be back this season ⏰. The Bulls need to focus on developing their talent before making more big moves 💻. Maybe this is a teachable moment for them? Can't have a rebuild without learning from your mistakes 🤦‍♂️.

Ugh I'm so frustrated for Coby White he had that much talent but just couldn't get it together... 😩 I mean I know all about rebuilding teams and it's never easy but you feel for the guy who's been with the Bulls since 2018-19 🤯. And now he's going to Charlotte where Kon Knueppel is killing it 💀! I guess some good will come out of this trade tho? The Bulls are trying to revamp their team and they just sent away Vucevic which was a big loss for them but the return looks solid 🔒. Fingers crossed they get some other key players in the mix 🤞

omg did u ever watch that new show "stranger things" with the kid who plays mila's bro? i was like totally binged it in one day 🤯📺 anyway, back to the bulls... what's up with collin sexton tho? seems like he's getting a pretty good deal going to charlotte... and ousmane dieng is a big dude! 🤪 but seriously, this trade deadline is crazy

I'm low-key surprised by how fast the Bulls are reshaping themselves 🤯. They're gonna miss Coby White for sure tho 👋... I mean, he was pretty vocal about being hyped for Kon Knueppel's skills 🙌. Now they'll be trying to plug some holes on their roster and figure out what's next - Zion's return from injury would be a huge boost, but idk how likely that is 💔. The moves so far seem like they're setting the Bulls up for a solid rebuild, with Arturas Karnisovas doing a great job, if you ask me 🙏.

🤔 I'm low-key shocked by how many changes are happening on the Bulls right now! Like, one day Vucevic is here and the next he's gone... it's like they're playing a game of NBA Twister, where everyone gets traded to a different team 🌀. And poor Coby White, who was like a fan fave for so long 💔. Guess you can't stay in one place forever. But hey, at least the Hornets are getting some exciting young talent from him and Mike Conley Jr. I'm still holding out hope that Zion comes back from his injury... can you imagine what this team would be like with him on it? 🤯 The Bulls front office is trying to piece together a roster, but man, this trade deadline is like a puzzle with missing pieces 🔪. Can't wait to see how they play out! 😂

im so done with these blockbuster trades 🤑💸 they're not even making sense anymore. who needs that many players and picks? its just gonna lead to more injuries and roster drama... and whats up with the bulls losing coby white already? dude was good 🤔 collin sexton is a major gamble on my part but ousmane dieng is def a solid pick... think arturas karnisovas got played here 🤑😒

Ugh I'm so confused about Coby White 🤯! He was literally a fan fave and just got shipped out like that 💔. But I guess you can't blame the Bulls for trying to make moves, they're stuck in rebuild mode and need all the help they can get 🚧. I feel bad for Billy Donovan, he's gotta deal with all this drama 😩. Arturas Karnisovas seems like a solid dude tho 👍, at least he made that sweet trade for Vucevic 💪. Can't wait to see what happens next, it's gonna be an interesting second half of the season 📺🔥!

I'm kinda surprised about Coby White leaving, but I guess it was a smart move for the Bulls. They needed some fresh blood and guys who can make an impact, especially with Sexton joining the team 🤔. Karnisovas did well trading Vucevic to Boston - that's gotta be a huge win for him! 😊 The trade deadline always brings excitement, but it's also nerve-wracking... hope they can get some of their key players back from injury soon 💪

Ugh, Bulls are really tanking hard now, right? They gotta make a move or they're stuck with that tiny lineup forever 🤣. Arturas Karnisovas did good for sending Vucevic to Celtics tho, but then they just gave him away to Hornets and Conley too... like what's next? 😂 They really need some serious talent or else we'll be watching them get demolished all season long 👀

Ugh, I'm so over these endless updates 🤯. Can't they just give us a simple summary of what's going on? The Bulls are trading away Coby White and Mike Conley Jr. for some players and picks... yay? 🎉 It's like they're trying to make it look all exciting with all the trades, but honestly, I'm just lost 🤔. I mean, who is Kon Knueppel again? And why do we need a whole lot of second-round picks? 🤑 Can't we just focus on one thing for once? The Bulls' front office is supposed to be working hard, but it feels like they're just making it up as they go along 😂. I guess it's too early to tell if this will actually work out...
