Can you solve it? Are you as smart as Spock?

Logic Day: The Puzzle That'll Test Your Cognitive Skills

Do you think you're as intelligent and analytical as Mr. Spock from Star Trek? Prove it! World Logic Day is a UNESCO-approved celebration that takes place every year, but this time around, we need your help to crack the code.

A group of friends - Andy, Bea, and Celine - have a jar of 10 cookies. They'll take turns pulling out as many cookies as they like, without communicating with each other or forming alliances. The rules are simple: no one wants to end up with the most or least number of cookies, but they also want to maximize their cookie intake.

The catch? Both conditions must be satisfied simultaneously. If we prioritize condition 1 (avoiding extremes), will they end up with a fair share? Or if we focus on condition 2 (getting as many cookies as possible)? It's a classic dilemma that requires logical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Can you solve this puzzle without any spoilers? Share your thoughts, and I'll be back with the solution at 5 pm UK. In the meantime, let's discuss some illogical arguments - because sometimes, it's fun to poke holes in our own reasoning.

World Logic Day is just around the corner, and there are numerous events planned across the globe. If you'd like to learn more about these celebrations, head over to the World Logic Day website.

If you're feeling confident, try your hand at a harder puzzle with this Christmas competition. And if you know of any great puzzles or brain teasers, send me an email - I'm always on the lookout for new challenges!

🤔 So like, the key to solving this cookie dilemma is not just about getting more cookies, but also making sure everyone gets a fair share too. That's kinda like life in general, right? We all wanna be happy and fulfilled, but we can't always get what we want when we want it. It's about finding that balance, you know? Like, if one person gets too many cookies, the others will just feel left out and unhappy. So, how do we make sure everyone feels good? That's where the magic of compromise comes in 🎩. We gotta be willing to listen to each other and find a solution that works for everyone, not just our own selfish interests. It's like my grandpa used to say, "The greatest reward is sharing what you have with others." 💕

I think its super lame that we gotta play some cookie game to prove our smarts 🍪😒. Like, what's wrong with just having a normal conversation and seeing who knows more about logic? Do we really need some cheesy puzzle to show off our problem-solving skills? I mean, I'm sure Andy, Bea, and Celine are all geniuses or whatever, but it feels like they're just trying to get a lot of likes on their social media posts 🤷‍♂️. Also, who thought it was a good idea to make a celebration out of this? Can't we just have a normal day without some forced logic-themed shenanigans?

Ugh, good luck trying to solve this stupid logic puzzle... like anyone's gonna figure it out... 🤷‍♂️ I mean, come on, who doesn't want to end up with the most or least number of cookies? It's a no-brainer - they'll just be taking turns being miserable or eating all the cookies... Either way, someone's gonna end up with nothing. And don't even get me started on trying to "maximize their cookie intake" without communicating... yeah right... like that's gonna happen...

I'm surprised they're even making this puzzle a thing - it's just a classic example of people trying to solve an impossible problem. I mean, who needs logic when you can just wing it and hope for the best? 🤦‍♂️ And what's with the "classic dilemma" nonsense... like it's some sort of badge of honor or something... Can't they just give us a simple answer already?

Oh wait, I forgot - this is World Logic Day... where people gather to celebrate their own inadequacy at solving logical problems... 🙄 Bring on the spoiler answers and let's all just enjoy our cookie-less lives 😂

omg u guys think ur intelligent just cuz u can solve a cookie jar problem lol what about the time u spent scrolling thru tiktok instead of studying 4 ur exams? that's probably more impressive tbh 🙄🍪

I think it's kinda funny how this puzzle is trying to test our cognitive skills. It's like, do we really want to solve a problem that's basically impossible to win? 🤔 But at the same time, who doesn't love a good brain teaser? The thing that's got me thinking is that this puzzle is all about balance - they don't want to end up with too many or too few cookies... it's like trying to find that perfect middle ground. I reckon it's gonna be interesting to see how people try to solve it without any spoilers 😄

I've got to say, this puzzle is pretty intriguing 🤔. If I had to think about it logically (no pun intended!), I'd say that Andy, Bea, and Celine have a tough time achieving both goals at the same time. Their goal of maximizing cookie intake seems to conflict with their desire for an equal share.

I'm not sure if there's a mathematically perfect solution, but maybe they could try dividing the cookies in thirds? That way, each person gets 3 cookies and no one has too many or too few. It wouldn't be a "fair" share in the classical sense, but it might satisfy both conditions.

One thing for sure is that this puzzle highlights the importance of balancing competing priorities 🤝. Can anyone come up with a better solution?

🤔 This one's gonna be tough... they're stuck in a kinda situation where both sides don't want to win, so nobody wins. It's like trying to have your cake and not wanting it at the same time lol, no way you can satisfy that, gotta think outside the jar for this one 🍪

OMG, I'm so down for some cookie logic 🍪🤔! I think it's super cool that they're trying to figure out how to divide those cookies fairly without talking to each other. I've had friends do something similar at parties and it always ends in drama 🤷‍♀️.

I personally think that if they focus on not having too many or too few cookies, they'll probably end up with a pretty good share. But it's also interesting to see how their individual choices affect the outcome 😏. Maybe I'm just a cookie nerd, but I love puzzles like this! Can't wait to see what others come up with 🤔
