just seen this article and it's really hitting me hard how Australia is dealing with domestic violence... it's like they're failing us all over again i mean, 13 11 14 is the crisis line but who even knows about it? we need more awareness and action on this ASAP it's not just about the victims, it's about their kids too can't we do better than this?
my heart goes out to all those affected by domestic violence in Australia... I mean, how many times do we have to see this happen before we take action? I'm getting so frustrated just thinking about it... the fact that 'systemic failures' allowed these tragedies to occur is just heartbreaking. we need change now and not some watered-down version of it either... my mum's friend was a victim of domestic abuse, she always told me how hard it was for her to get help, so frustrating that we can't make things easier for people like her.
It's so heartbreaking to see that Aussie cops & systems failed Gail & Kardell ... decades of inaction = lives lost. We need more brave whistleblowers like those behind Guardian Australia's series, & better support for survivors. Can't we do better than this?
