'Cannot believe it's still happening': readers respond to 'heartbreaking' domestic violence homicides

🤕 just seen this article and it's really hitting me hard how Australia is dealing with domestic violence... 🌪️ it's like they're failing us all over again 💔 i mean, 13 11 14 is the crisis line but who even knows about it? 📞 we need more awareness and action on this ASAP 🚨 it's not just about the victims, it's about their kids too 👶🏼 can't we do better than this? 😩

🤕 my heart goes out to all those affected by domestic violence in Australia... I mean, how many times do we have to see this happen before we take action? 🙄 I'm getting so frustrated just thinking about it... the fact that 'systemic failures' allowed these tragedies to occur is just heartbreaking. 🤕 we need change now and not some watered-down version of it either... my mum's friend was a victim of domestic abuse, she always told me how hard it was for her to get help, so frustrating that we can't make things easier for people like her. 💔

It's so heartbreaking to see that Aussie cops & systems failed Gail & Kardell 🤕😔... decades of inaction = lives lost. We need more brave whistleblowers like those behind Guardian Australia's series, & better support for survivors. Can't we do better than this? 💔
