CBP employee in Minnesota charged after reportedly being found 'covered in vomit' in car

CBP Employee Arrested for DWI Amid Immigration Crackdown in Minnesota

A US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) employee has been charged with drunken driving after being found unconscious and covered in vomit inside his car by state troopers. Alfredo Mancillas Jr, 31, is facing third- and fourth-degree driving while intoxicated (DWI) charges following his arrest on Tuesday morning.

Mancillas was pulled over by police for parking in a no-parking zone on a St Paul road when he slumped over in the vehicle, drawing attention from state troopers. The officers reported that Mancillas smelled of alcohol and had watery eyes and bloodshot pupils, prompting them to administer a field sobriety test. He failed the test and refused to take a breath test.

As news of the arrest emerged on Thursday, it came as the Trump administration's immigration crackdown in Minnesota continues to dominate headlines. The city has been hit hard by Operation Metro Surge, a mass deportation campaign that saw over 3,000 federal agents descend on St Paul and Minneapolis earlier this month.

The campaign led to widespread public backlash after two US citizens were fatally shot by border patrol agents: Renee Good and Alex Pretti. An ICE agent was involved in the shooting of Good, while another agent killed Pretti after disarming him.

In response to the criticism, Trump administration officials have made some high-profile changes to the Minnesota operation. Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino has been demoted and removed from Minneapolis, while new head Tom Homan acknowledged that "certain improvements could and should be made" but did not elaborate.

Meanwhile, CBP is also reviewing Mancillas' DWI arrest, with a spokesperson stating that the agency values honor and integrity in all aspects of its mission. However, the incident has raised questions about the personal conduct of CBP employees, particularly given the tumultuous period surrounding Operation Metro Surge.

omg what's going on in minnesota rn i was just reading about this crazy immigration stuff and now this is happening to some cbp guy? like, how does someone get caught driving drunk when they're supposed to be keeping people safe at the border? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜’ anyway, did you know that alfredo mancillas jr is only 31 tho? i feel bad for him but also kinda annoyed that he's getting in trouble while his coworkers are just doing their jobs... i wonder what would happen if a state trooper got arrested for something like this. ๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ man, it's like, can't even trust people who are supposed to be enforcing laws... I mean, I get it, everyone makes mistakes, but come on, a CBP employee getting caught for DUI? It's just embarrassing. And in the middle of this whole immigration crackdown drama too? Like, what's next? You're gonna arrest someone and then find out they can't even drive straight? ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ˜‚ It's just not looking good for these guys.

And you know what really gets me is that they're all trying to save face about Operation Metro Surge, but it's like, they need to focus on the bigger picture. Like, how many people have been deported or hurt by this operation? And now we got a CBP employee getting arrested for DUI... it's just more proof that there are consequences to their actions.

I guess what I'm saying is, let's keep it real, folks. If you're gonna be out here enforcing the law, you gotta be on your own stuff too. Can't have people making mistakes and then trying to cover it up. That's not how it works. ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿคฏ I mean, can't believe what's happening to these public servants? I know we need to be careful with our immigration policies and all, but this is just a really bad look for everyone involved. And poor Alfredo, passed out in his car like that... ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ˜ท DWI charges are serious, no question. It's not just about the law, it's about setting an example for others too.

On the other hand, I'm kinda glad some changes are happening at CBP. Like, demoting the border patrol commander is a good start, you know? ๐Ÿค And hopefully they'll take a closer look at their employee conduct policies. We need people in those roles to be able to do their jobs without personal stuff getting in the way.

I just wish we could have more transparency and accountability on all sides of this immigration thing. It's like, we're always hearing about how it's being "tough" or "strict," but what about when it affects regular people? That's what I want to see more of... ๐Ÿ’ก Maybe some more nuanced discussions about the human impact of these policies?

๐Ÿ™„ I mean, can you even imagine having to live up to the standards set by your parents or whatever? 'Hey kid, you're a CBP employee now, always keep it together and don't get caught drinking and driving'... meanwhile, adults are still figuring out how not to make idiots of themselves ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Seriously though, this is just another example of the whole "walk the walk" thing - if they can't even police their own employees, how do you expect them to deal with actual problems at the border? ๐Ÿ™ƒ

๐Ÿค” its pretty wild to think an actual cbp employee gets arrested for dwi, i mean we're talking about people on the frontlines with immigration enforcement all day every day... seems like you'd want them to be in good headspace, especially when they're interacting with ppl who might already be stressed or scared.

and can't help but wonder how this whole op metro surge thing is gonna shake out - i mean, it's one thing to make some policy changes, but what about actual reforms? are we just gonna keep swapping people around and hoping for the best?

anyways, glad they're reviewing this DWI incident - gotta hold folks in power accountable, right?

"Actions speak louder than words" ๐Ÿ’ญ - It's not just about making changes to operations or reassigning officials, but also about holding people accountable for their actions, especially when it comes to something as serious as a DWI arrest by a CBP employee. We need to see tangible proof that these changes are going to be implemented and enforced ๐Ÿ•’

๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ This is just wild how someone working at CBP can get caught doing something so reckless and impaired. I mean, what's more important - following through on your duties as an immigration officer or making it home to your family for dinner? ๐Ÿด It's like, we get the whole "honor and integrity" thing from them, but this is just a case of taking that too literally? ๐Ÿ™„

Man, another CBP employee caught doing something super unprofessional ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I'm not sure what's more concerning, though - that Mancillas was arrested for DWI or that it happened during this whole immigration crackdown thing in Minnesota ๐Ÿค”. Like, how many times have we seen government officials and agents get caught up in their own personal issues? It's just another example of how the line between work and personal life can get blurred.

On a related note, I'm still shaking my head over those two US citizens who got shot by border patrol agents ๐Ÿ’”. You'd think that with all these changes to Operation Metro Surge, we'd see some real progress on improving public safety and addressing concerns about police accountability ๐Ÿ™. But until then, incidents like Mancillas' DWI arrest just keep popping up, making us wonder if the priorities are really in order ๐Ÿ˜•.

What do you guys think? Should CBP employees be held to a higher standard of personal conduct, or is it just a case of one bad apple ๐ŸŽ?

This just shows what happens when people are too caught up in the drama to be themselves anymore... like a bad soap opera, but with DUIs and guns ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I mean, come on, Alfredo Jr, how hard is it to get out of the car if you're feeling queasy? And now we're all supposed to be outraged about this while our leaders are playing politics with people's lives... not cool, guys ๐Ÿ˜’. Operation Metro Surge needs to stop being a distraction for real issues like substance abuse and mental health support for CBP employees ๐Ÿค. Can't they just focus on doing their jobs without getting caught up in the limelight? ๐ŸŒŸ

Idk how you can link this drunk driver's arrest to the immigration thing going on rn...seems like two separate issues 2 me. I mean don't get me wrong, it's still super concerning that a cop (or in this case, CBP employee) gets arrested 4 DWI. But do we really need 2 bring up their occupation when they got caught? Can't we just focus on the fact that they made a bad choice & face the consequences? The immigration crackdown thing is already a hot mess, can we not mix it w/ this? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Ugh man I'm shocked ๐Ÿ˜ฑ like how can someone in law enforcement be so reckless?! ๐Ÿšจ Alfredo Mancillas Jr's situation is a total bummer too, got charged with DWI and all that... it's crazy how one mistake can ruin your life ๐Ÿ’”. And you know what the cherry on top is? He was working for CBP during Operation Metro Surge, which is already super contentious ๐Ÿคฏ. I mean, can't they just have one normal employee who doesn't get arrested for DUI while trying to enforce immigration laws ๐Ÿ˜‚?

Ugh ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ, I'm really disappointed to hear about this. A person in a position of power, like a CBP employee, making headlines for all the wrong reasons. It's not just about the DWI charges, it's about the potential impact on their colleagues and the public's trust in the agency. And let's be real, with Operation Metro Surge going on in Minnesota, this is just more ammo for critics to use against the administration. The agency needs to take a closer look at its own policies and procedures, not just focus on making sure everyone else follows the rules. We need to see some accountability from those in power ๐Ÿ˜’.

omg i cant even right now... like what is going on with the cops and the border patrol?? ๐Ÿคฏ they're supposed to be helping people but it sounds like some of them are just as messed up as regular ppl ๐Ÿ˜‚ anyway back to this cbp dude who got arrested for dwi... like isnt that kinda ironic considering his job is all about enforcing immigration rules? ๐Ÿค” also whats with the trump admin trying to cover their backsides after two americans got killed by border patrol agents?? ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ cant they just be honest for once?

OMG ๐Ÿคฏ I'm shocked to hear about Alfredo Mancillas Jr's arrest! As a fan of justice, I think it's awesome that he got caught and is facing charges for his actions. But, tbh, it's kinda weird that this is happening during the Operation Metro Surge thingy. Like, don't get me wrong, I'm all for enforcing immigration laws and all, but let's make sure our own people are being held to the same standards ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ.

I mean, CBP employees are like the front line of protecting our country, right? So, if they're not holding up themselves, how can we expect them to hold others accountable? It's like, have some personal integrity, guys! ๐Ÿ˜‚ But seriously, I hope Alfredo gets the help he needs and learns from this experience. We all make mistakes, but it's how we own up to 'em that matters ๐Ÿ’ช.

And omg, those shootings in Minnesota were TRAGIC ๐Ÿค•. Like, I totally get why people are upset and demanding changes. It's time for some accountability, for sure! ๐Ÿš”

Ugh, can you believe this?! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ A CBP employee getting arrested for DWI? Like, what's next?! ๐Ÿ˜ณ They're supposed to be protecting our country, not breaking the law! ๐Ÿ’” And it's especially weird considering the whole Operation Metro Surge thing is going on. I mean, those two US citizens who got shot by border patrol agents... that was totally unacceptable ๐Ÿคฏ. I just hope Mancillas' arrest doesn't get swept under the rug because of all the drama with CBP and the Trump admin ๐Ÿ’ธ. Anyway, it's a good reminder that no one is above the law, even if you're in law enforcement ๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ’ช.

omg i dont even know what to say lol like wth alfredo mancillas jr is 31 yrs old and hes already got dwi charges on him and ppl r like "oh no cbp employee did it again" but like seriously how many times can one person get drunk & not remember to drive or do a field sobriety test?? anyway back to the trump admin's immigration crackdown in minnesota i feel bad for the 2 ppl who got shot by border patrol agents their families deserve so much better than that and tbh its kinda messed up that they had to go thru all this drama because of immigration policy but like lets not get sidetracked from alfredo mancillas jr lol anyway im just glad hes okay i guess
