I don’t usually comment but... I think what’s crazy is how everyone is already expecting change . Charlotte Edwards said her job isn't a "quick fix" but like, come on, it's the World Cup! You're gonna get booed and hated just for showing up if you don't deliver . And yeah, dropping Kate Cross was a no-brainer, she hadn’t been performing all series .
But seriously though, I love how Edwards is already thinking about next year's T20 World Cup . It shows she’s not giving up and wants to learn from this experience. And Alex Hartley makes a good point about South Africa being the better team . It’s all about learning from your mistakes and moving forward, right?
omg I feel like edward's comments make total sense ...she's not trying to fix everything overnight, it takes time & effort to turn around a team's performance ...I think alex hartley made a good point too, they got destroyed by south africa but still made it to the final which is no joke
I'm so disappointed with how England's Women's Cricket Team performed this year! I mean, a group-stage exit at the 2024 T20 World Cup? And a drubbing in the Ashes... that's just heartbreaking . Charlotte Edwards should be held accountable for those losses though... I don't think bringing back Linsey Smith was a good idea . Emma Lamb struggling in the middle order is weird too... what's next, dropping Kate Cross again?
But you know who did okay? Alex Hartley! She defended Edwards' team pretty well and said they were outplayed by South Africa. That's so fair . And Edwards herself is learning from her mistakes... that's the right attitude . Still, I'm gonna be rooting for England to do better next year...
I think it's good that Edwards is not beating herself up over the tournament exit . It's true that you can't change everything overnight, especially when it comes to a big game like the World Cup final. I'm glad she's focusing on the T20 World Cup next year and working on getting her team more comfortable with pressure situations. Alex Hartley makes some good points about South Africa being just too strong for them . Edwards seems like a really down-to-earth coach who is willing to learn from her mistakes, which I think bodes well for England's future in cricket
omg I'm still reeling from england's world cup exit i mean charlotte edwards is being super real about it not being a quick fix, but idk if that's just an excuse... she brought back linsey smith and emma lamb, but dropped kate cross? like what was the thought process on that one? anyway, i think edwards has a point about focusing on the t20 world cup next year, we need to see some improvements from her team before we can even talk about getting to the final again
