Cinderella review – you shall go to the beach with this breezy seaside panto

"Seaside Shenanigans: Cinderella Review"

In a season marked by frosty weather and festive cheer, a refreshing panto has emerged to banish any thoughts of a white Christmas. Joe Tracini's script for "Cinderella" at Norwich Theatre Royal is a traditional treat that packs plenty of laughs, eye-catching costumes, and a dash of modern whimsy.

The story begins in the seaside town of Crabbington Sands, where Aimee Leigh's breezy choreography brings to life a colorful cast of characters. The infamous duo, Lou and Lav, are perfectly captured by Owen Evans and Kenny Moore as two outrageous sisters who could have stepped straight out of a tacky postcard. Their outrageous costumes – including a beach ball-shaped dress and wigs that resemble fishing netting – are sure to raise an eyebrow or two.

Georgia May Foote shines in the title role, bringing a relatable everygirl quality to Cinderella as she navigates her unhappy home life with her wicked stepmother and stepsisters. However, Foote's character is somewhat one-dimensional, leaving some moments feeling slightly underdeveloped. Her romance with Prince Buttons (played by Danny Hatchard) feels similarly lacking in depth, with the two struggling to ignite a spark.

The production boasts some genuine highlights, including a sidesplitting rendition of "Shoe Must Go On" that features Jeevan Braich's Dandini belting out a show-stopping number. Braich is undoubtedly the standout performer in this cast, with his rich voice and charisma commanding attention on stage. His big number after the interval is an instant crowd-pleaser.

Hannah-Jane Fox makes a pleasant appearance as the flailing fairy godmother, struggling to keep her magic intact amidst some awkward lyrical missteps. Meanwhile, Andrew Lynford's energetic performance as the director brings warmth and enthusiasm to every scene, making even the most basic jokes seem genuinely funny.

Overall, "Cinderella" is a festive treat that will leave you grinning from ear to ear. While it may not be the most complex or sophisticated panto, its sheer energy and joy make up for any shortcomings. With Braich's Dandini shining bright, this production is sure to delight audiences of all ages until January 4th at Norwich Theatre Royal.

lol gotta agree that Jeevan Braich's performance as Dandini was totally fire 🔥👏 he brought so much energy and charisma to the stage that it was hard not to get swept up in his magic ✨❤️

I just got back from the beach yesterday and I'm still dreaming about those beachy vibes 🏖️😴. Have you guys tried that new seaweed salad at the food truck near the pier? It's literally changed my life 🤯🌿. And speaking of weird things, have you seen those videos of cats playing piano online? My cat, Luna, can barely sit still for 5 seconds without bashing the keys... maybe I should start a YouTube channel 📹😸

I just saw Cinderella at Norwich Theatre Royal 🎭👠 and I gotta say, it was a real hoot! 😂 Owen Evans and Kenny Moore as the outrageous sisters Lou and Lav were like two peas in a pod - their energy was infectious! 🤣 The choreography was so colorful and lively, it felt like a summer day at the beach instead of winter ❄️. Georgia May Foote as Cinderella was lovely, but I wish her character had more depth. And can we talk about Jeevan Braich's Dandini? 😍 He stole the show! 💥 I loved how the production had so many funny moments, especially that rendition of "Shoe Must Go On" - my sides hurt! 🤣 The fairy godmother was a bit wonky, but Hannah-Jane Fox made it work. Andrew Lynford's energy as the director was just what this panto needed to get everyone laughing and smiling. It may not be the most complex story, but I had so much fun watching it - perfect for a winter's night out! 🎬

I'm not sure why they're still doing pantos 🤔. It feels like an outdated tradition that never really dies out. I mean, I went with friends and we had a good time, but it's just so... predictable. The special effects are all cheesy and over-the-top, and some of the jokes fell flat. But hey, you can't deny Georgia May Foote being pretty great as Cinderella 👏 - she's got that relatable everygirl vibe down pat. And Jeevan Braich's Dandini was literally the highlight of the show for me 🎤 - I loved how charismatic he is on stage! Overall, it's a fun night out with friends, but maybe not the most sophisticated entertainment experience 😊.

I think what I loved about this "Cinderella" review was how they broke down the good bits and the not-so-good bits. Like, I agree that Georgia May Foote's Cinderella felt a bit one-dimensional, but then again, she still manages to make it relatable! 😊 And can we talk about Jeevan Braich as Dandini? He's like the life of the party on stage! 🎉 His big number after the interval was infectious! I love how they said he was the standout performer - that just says it all. And let's be real, who doesn't love a good "Shoe Must Go On" moment? 🤣 But what really stood out to me was Andrew Lynford's energy as the director. He brings this warmth and enthusiasm to every scene that makes you want to join in on the fun! ❤️

I think the reviewer got a bit carried away with their praise 🤣. Don't get me wrong, Georgia May Foote's Cinderella performance was solid, but I didn't see her character being "relatable everygirl quality" all that much. And what's up with the production team not really developing her romance with Prince Buttons? 😐

On a more positive note, Jeevan Braich as Dandini absolutely stole the show 🤩! His energy and charisma on stage were infectious, and his singing voice was incredible. Andrew Lynford's enthusiasm as the director also added to the overall feel-good vibe of the production.

I did find some parts of the review to be a bit over-the-top, like the reviewer's glowing description of the "sidesplitting rendition" of "Shoe Must Go On". 🤣 While it was definitely funny, I think they might've been being a bit generous with their praise. Still, overall I'd say this production is worth checking out, especially if you're looking for a fun and lighthearted festive show 😊.

I'm kinda old-school when it comes to pantos, you know? I mean, I used to love watching them back in the day with my grandparents... they'd always have the best seats and we'd sing along to the songs. But, this Cinderella panto at Norwich Theatre Royal seems like a right ol' knees-up! The costumes are so fancy and colorful, it's like a old-school postcard come to life 💅🏻🎉 Owen Evans and Kenny Moore as Lou and Lav are absolute legends, I mean, who wouldn't want to be a beach ball-shaped dress-wearing fisherman 🤣. But, I do think Georgia May Foote's Cinderella could've been more fleshed out, you know? A bit more depth would've made her romance with Prince Buttons pop even more 💕. And Jeevan Braich as Dandini... wow, he's like a modern-day Meryl Streep up there 🎭! All in all, it's a rip-roaring good time that'll leave you feeling merry and bright ❄️🎊

I just watched Cinderella panto @ Norwich Theatre Royal and OMG 🤩 it was so much fun!!! 😂 The costumes were insane, especially Lou & Lav's outfits 🤣. Georgia May Foote as Cinderella was nice, but I felt like her romance with Prince Buttons needed more development, you know? 💔 But Jeevan Braich's Dandini performance tho?! 🙌 he killed it! 😂 The whole production had so much energy and the music was catchy, can't get that "Shoe Must Go On" song out of my head 😂. Andrew Lynford as the director added to the fun, making even the simplest jokes funny 😄. It's def a festive treat that'll leave you smiling 🌞 until Jan 4th! 👍

I'm not sold on these modern pantos 🤔. I mean, don't get me wrong, the costumes and choreography look fun, but it feels like they're more focused on being "on brand" for a panto than actually telling a good story. And Cinderella's character feels kinda... generic? 🙅‍♀️ She's just your typical "plucky girl with a dream" type, which doesn't exactly stand out in my book.

And what's up with these modern twists on classic stories? Sometimes I think they're more about making a quick buck than actually creating something new and interesting. I mean, who thought it was a good idea to put Prince Buttons in a panto? It just feels like they took every cliche from the original story and mashed them all together into one big mess 🤯.

Still, I guess it's not all bad... Braich's Dandini does look pretty great 👏. Maybe I'll check out this panto when it comes to my town... but I'm still skeptical 😐

omg i just watched cinderella panto at norwich theatre royal and it was SO much fun 🎭👠!!! georgia may foote as cinderella was pretty cool but i felt like she was missing a bit of depth, you know? 😐 but jeevan braich as dandini oh man he brought the house down with his vocals 🤩! and hannah-jane fox as fairy godmother was hilarious even if her singing wasn't always on point 🎶. i loved how it felt like a fun day out at the seaside, complete with beach ball dresses and wigs that looked like fishing nets 😂🌴. overall it was just what i needed to get into the festive spirit - cheerful, silly and full of laughter 💃🏼👏!

🤔 I'm telling ya, something fishy is going on with this panto review 🎭. Like, why is the reviewer focusing so much on the "traditional treat" vibe and not touching on the elephant in the room – the fact that Joe Tracini's script has been passed around like hot potato from director to director! Coincidence? I don't think so 😏. And what's up with Georgia May Foote's character being one-dimensional? Is she just a placeholder for the real star of the show, aka Jeevan Braich? 🤞
