Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon Set to Make Major Mark in the City

The Chevron Houston Marathon, which has officially sold out all races including charity entries, is set to make another major mark in Houston. The event will take place on January 9-11, with the marathon finish line located at Lamar and Crawford, one block up from the George R. Brown Convention Center.

Runners can begin to pick up their packets on Friday, and packet pick-up times are available here. The Houston Marathon Health and Fitness Expo presented by Houston Methodist will take place on January 9-10, with expo hours of 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

The marathon course will feature six corrals, with the first starting at 6:55 a.m. Corrals C, D, E, and F will follow A and B corral using a pulsed start method to reduce course congestion. Corral assignments are determined by the predicted finish time of each runner indicated during registration.

The course surface is a 50/50 mix of concrete and asphalt/blacktop, and runners can use their Chevron Houston Marathon Time to qualify for the Boston Marathon. The event will also feature the Aramco Houston Half Marathon, with a total highway closure announced on I-69.

For spectators, there are plenty of hotspots where they can cheer on the runners. Visit this page to see the full list and check out the map below.

In addition, runners can track their favorite runner live inside the marathon's mobile app or search for them through this tool on their browser.

omg u guys!! 🀩 i'm lowkey hyped about the chevron houston marathon this yr! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ i mean, who doesn't love a good ol marathon? lol. so like, i heard they've got some new changes to the course and corrals now. sounds kinda cool, but also kinda confusing if u ask me πŸ€”. but hey, at least it's gonna be super fun for spectators! πŸŽ‰ i'm planning on watching from the hotspots and cheering on my friends who are participating πŸ’–. and btw, anyone got tips on how to get into the expo without a packet? πŸ€‘

omg, i'm so excited for the Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘€ it's gonna be so lit at the marathon health and fitness expo on jan 9-10. i've been training for months now, and seeing all the runners preparing is really inspiring. 🀩 but i have to say, the pulsed start method is a bit confusing... like, how do they make sure everyone gets off the line at the same time? πŸ€” still, it's gonna be an epic event! i'm planning on spectating from the Lamar and Crawford spot, can't wait to cheer on my favorite runners πŸŽ‰

I'm thinkin' that marathon events like this are actually hurtin' the city's traffic. Like, all these people showin' up and parkin' everywhere? It's a real pain for locals tryin' to get around. And don't even get me started on the road closures... I-69 is gonna be a nightmare with the Aramco Houston Half Marathon comin' up πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. Can't we just have more public transportation options instead of dealin' with all this congestion? πŸš—πŸ˜’

I'm not sure how I feel about all these events taking over our city this time of year πŸ€”. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's great that people are enthusiastic about running and all, but have you seen the traffic jams on I-69? It's gonna be a nightmare for everyone else who doesn't want to run 26 miles or 13.1 miles πŸ’¨. And what's with all these closures? Can't they just find another route that's not gonna cause so much congestion? 🚧πŸ’₯

OMG, I'm so hyped for the Chevron Houston Marathon πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸŽ‰! I love how they've got that pulsed start method to reduce congestion on the course - it's gonna be a game-changer for runners. And can we talk about the expo? It's always so epic at the George R. Brown Convention Center 😍. I'm planning on checking out the health and fitness expo this year, maybe even picking up some new gear πŸ›οΈ. The Aramco Houston Half Marathon is also a bonus - love how they're incorporating tech to track runners live in the app πŸ“±. Anyone else got their packet picked up yet? πŸ˜„

omg, i'm so stoked that the marathon is coming up!!! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸŽ‰ i was thinking about my school's track team and how we should all participate in this... it'd be a great way to stay active and have some fun with friends. plus, our school's cheer squad could come out and support the runners - that would be so cool! 😊 anyway, i heard there are gonna be 6 corrals, which means some people might get stuck at the back... but overall, it looks like they've got everything planned out to make this event epic. did u know that you can use ur chevron houston marathon time to qualify for the boston marathon tho? πŸ”₯πŸ†

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ So, the Chevron Houston Marathon is gonna be huge this year! I mean, all the races are sold out already? That's crazy! 🀯 What's your take on that? Are you signed up to run or just cheering from the sidelines? πŸŽ‰ And can you believe it's been 50 years since the event started? Time flies! πŸ’¨ How do you think the Aramco Houston Half Marathon is gonna affect traffic around I-69? Should they've done a better job planning for that part? πŸ€”

I'm getting ready to watch all those runners go by on Jan 9-11 πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸŒΉ. I know my knees aren't what they used to be, but it's still fun to cheer people on! I think the organizers have done a great job with the expo and packet pick-up - makes it so much easier for everyone. Corral system can get a bit confusing though... hope runners don't get lost in the pack πŸ˜…. At least we've got plenty of spots to watch from, like the Riverwalk or on Lamar St. πŸŒ† I just wish I was a bit younger and could join in on the fun!

omg i just got my hands on those super rare vinyl records of my fave artist from back in the day πŸŽ΅πŸ“€ its so weird how music from the 90s still holds up today i mean have you heard that one song? πŸ€” anyway, i'm not saying the marathon won't be fun or anything, but i'd rather watch the runners on a big screen than stand out there in the cold and sweaty mess... πŸ˜… what's your favorite type of music btw?

omg u guys, i'm so hyped for this marathon!! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸŽ‰ the fact that it's sold out all races is insane! i mean, who doesn't love a good challenge? and can we talk about how cool the expo hours are? 10am-6pm? that gives me plenty of time to get my packet and shop some new running gear πŸ›οΈπŸ’ƒ i've been training for this thing for months and i cant wait to crush it on january 9th! the course looks so good too, 50/50 mix of concrete and asphalt... i'm imagining the views of houston along the route will be straight fire πŸ”₯πŸ‘

πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ "The only way to do great work is to love what you do." 🌟 Can't believe the Chevron Houston Marathon has officially sold out all races! It's going to be a wild ride with thousands of runners taking over the streets. I'm not surprised they're using pulsed start methods to reduce congestion - safety first, right? πŸ’―

Ugh, another big event coming to H-Town πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. I mean, I'm all for some people pounding the pavement for charity and whatnot, but have you seen the crowds they're gonna bring? It's gonna be a nightmare trying to get around town on Jan 9-11 πŸš—πŸ˜’.

And don't even get me started on the packet pick-up times πŸ•°οΈ. Who has time to show up at the expo on Friday? Can't they just mail us our packets like normal people do? πŸ“¨

The course surface is a bit of a bummer too, 50/50 mix of concrete and asphalt... sounds like a recipe for headaches 🀯. And I don't really care about the pulsed start method either... more congestion = more stress 😬.

And why do they have to close off I-69? It's not like it's a major artery or anything, but I guess that's just progress right? πŸš—πŸ’¨
