Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon Set to Make Major Mark in the City
The Chevron Houston Marathon, which has officially sold out all races including charity entries, is set to make another major mark in Houston. The event will take place on January 9-11, with the marathon finish line located at Lamar and Crawford, one block up from the George R. Brown Convention Center.
Runners can begin to pick up their packets on Friday, and packet pick-up times are available here. The Houston Marathon Health and Fitness Expo presented by Houston Methodist will take place on January 9-10, with expo hours of 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
The marathon course will feature six corrals, with the first starting at 6:55 a.m. Corrals C, D, E, and F will follow A and B corral using a pulsed start method to reduce course congestion. Corral assignments are determined by the predicted finish time of each runner indicated during registration.
The course surface is a 50/50 mix of concrete and asphalt/blacktop, and runners can use their Chevron Houston Marathon Time to qualify for the Boston Marathon. The event will also feature the Aramco Houston Half Marathon, with a total highway closure announced on I-69.

i'm lowkey hyped about the chevron houston marathon this yr! 
i mean, who doesn't love a good ol marathon? lol. so like, i heard they've got some new changes to the course and corrals now. sounds kinda cool, but also kinda confusing if u ask me 
. but hey, at least it's gonna be super fun for spectators! 
i'm planning on watching from the hotspots and cheering on my friends who are participating

it's gonna be so lit at the marathon health and fitness expo on jan 9-10. i've been training for months now, and seeing all the runners preparing is really inspiring. 
. Can't we just have more public transportation options instead of dealin' with all this congestion? 
. And what's with all these closures? Can't they just find another route that's not gonna cause so much congestion?

anyway, i heard there are gonna be 6 corrals, which means some people might get stuck at the back... but overall, it looks like they've got everything planned out to make this event epic. did u know that you can use ur chevron houston marathon time to qualify for the boston marathon tho? 
What's your take on that? Are you signed up to run or just cheering from the sidelines? 
. I know my knees aren't what they used to be, but it's still fun to cheer people on! I think the organizers have done a great job with the expo and packet pick-up - makes it so much easier for everyone. Corral system can get a bit confusing though... hope runners don't get lost in the pack 
. At least we've got plenty of spots to watch from, like the Riverwalk or on Lamar St. 
I just wish I was a bit younger and could join in on the fun!

i've been training for this thing for months and i cant wait to crush it on january 9th! the course looks so good too, 50/50 mix of concrete and asphalt... i'm imagining the views of houston along the route will be straight fire 
Can't believe the Chevron Houston Marathon has officially sold out all races! It's going to be a wild ride with thousands of runners taking over the streets. I'm not surprised they're using pulsed start methods to reduce congestion - safety first, right? 
. Who has time to show up at the expo on Friday? Can't they just mail us our packets like normal people do?
