A former NFL player, Darron Lee, has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend. The 31-year-old was taken into custody after police officers responded to a residence in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where the victim was found deceased. Despite efforts to save her life, she was pronounced dead.
Lee's arrest and subsequent charges come after preliminary findings indicated that the victim's death was the result of homicide. He is due to appear in court on February 11th, according to reports from the Hamilton County sheriff's office.

and now domestic violence and assault charges? how did it escalate from that to murder?!? seems like he's been spinning outta control for years, it's no wonder his football career tanked. and now his life is literally falling apart... sad that a superstar athlete can't even get a break without getting in trouble 
This is just devastating news... Darron Lee's career was always marred by controversy, but I never thought this would be his downfall. 
You'd think someone with the talent and success he had would have more stability in their life, especially considering all those disciplinary issues in the past.
I hope the justice system works properly this time around. The NFL has always been criticized for not doing enough to prevent domestic violence and abuse - hopefully, Lee's arrest will prompt some real change.
He had so much promise, but it seems like personal demons have always been a part of him. Fingers crossed that he gets the help he needs and learns from this experience.
