Local Youth Invited to Shine in National Anthem Spotlight at Orange Bowl Game
For the first time ever, residents of South Florida will have an opportunity to showcase their singing talents on a national stage. The Deco Drive team has partnered with the Orange Bowl Committee to host a competition for individuals aged 10-22 from the SoFlo area, with the goal of selecting the next national anthem singer.
The winning performer will have the chance to belt out "The Star-Spangled Banner" live at the College Football Playoff game on January 1st. However, it's not all about singing β organizers want participants to be confident and composed in front of a massive audience, with Bob Lafferty stating, "We'd love them to know what they're doing, right of course, because it's gonna be in front of 80,000 at the stadium, and all those watching at home."
To enter, potential contestants need to record themselves singing the national anthem and upload it to YouTube or Vimeo via a Google form on the Orange Bowl website. The deadline for submissions is midnight on December 16th.
This unique opportunity provides young musicians from South Florida with a chance to shine in front of a global audience, making it an exciting event for music lovers and sports fans alike.
