Did Egg get a Michelin star? Did Super Hans make it to Macedonia? The TV shows that most need a comeback

The TV Shows That Most Need a Comeback: A Plea from Fans

In the world of television, some shows have left an indelible mark on our hearts and minds. Among them are Peep Show, Green Wing, Sapphire & Steel, Deadwood, Foyle's War, Top Gear, Firefly, The Peripheral, and This Life. These popular series were either cancelled or concluded far too soon, leaving fans yearning for more.

Peep Show, the beloved sitcom, left audiences wondering about the lives of Mark, Jeremy, Sophie, and Super Hans. Did they finally get their act together? Did Mark and Jez's living arrangement change? And what about Super Hans' ill-fated moped rental business in Macedonia?

Green Wing, a pioneering comedy that showcased clever writing and physical humor, is still sorely missed. Fans request another series without the "sad" ending of later seasons. The show's creator, Joanna Clore, stole the spotlight with her cart-wheeling antics.

Sapphire & Steel, a lesser-known but critically acclaimed sci-fi series, sparked controversy with its portrayal of mature themes. Ian Crook advocates for a revival, suggesting that David McCallum and Joanna Lumley would still be great in their roles.

Deadwood, a western drama set in the 1870s, captivated audiences with its complex characters and gritty storylines. Judith Witts reminisces about her favorite actors, including Seth Bullock, Trixie, and Al Swearengen.

Foyle's War, a historical detective series, remains one of the finest period dramas ever made. Lesley Johnson regrets that the show never got to explore more of its lead character's early experiences during World War II.

Top Gear, a motoring magazine show turned into a comedy extravaganza, has left fans craving for its unique blend of humor and automotive expertise. Luci Bassindale proposes Jack Scarlett, Alex from Everything Electric, and Richard Hammond's daughter as new presenters.

Firefly, a groundbreaking sci-fi series about cowboys in space, continues to inspire with its memorable characters and captivating world-building. Kevin Brown yearns for more of the series' original run.

The Peripheral, a dystopian thriller set in a post-apocalyptic America, has garnered attention for its unique premise. Ian Simmons advocates for a return of the show, citing William Gibson's involvement and the fascinating world-building.

Finally, This Life, a gritty drama about young adulthood, is still cherished by many for its tight script and strong characters. Jeanette reminisces about the series' original run and ponders how student loans, job markets, AI, social media toxicity, and the drinking culture have changed the storylines.

As these fans continue to yearn for more of their favorite shows, a revival is long overdue. Will we see Peep Show's gang reunited? Will Green Wing return with its signature physical comedy? Can Sapphire & Steel's mature themes be explored further? The possibilities are endless, and it's time to bring back the TV shows that most need a comeback.

I'm like totally obsessed with revisiting old fave shows 🀩! Peep Show was just so relatable with those lovable but messed up characters πŸ˜‚. I wish they'd had more seasons to see Mark and Jez's antics continue - Super Hans' moped business in Macedonia, lol! Green Wing is still making me laugh just thinking about Joanna Clore's cart-wheeling skills πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈ. It's crazy how much we loved those shows back then, but it seems like too little, too late for revivals... or are they worth giving another chance? Firefly is still a major inspiration, and I'd totally ship Malcolm and River Reardon in real life πŸ’˜. What do you think - would any of these shows come back if we wanted them to? πŸ€”

it's crazy how many great tv shows got cut short 🀯 i mean what happened to peep show - who finished mark and jez's life saga?! green wing was literally too good for its own good πŸ˜‚ it would've been amazing to see more of joanna clore's antics and the cast reunite. sapphire & steel is underrated, imo - its dark themes were so ahead of their time πŸ•°οΈ and deadwood is still a masterclass in storytelling. foyle's war is an institution πŸ™Œ but even that show would've benefited from more WWII backstory. top gear's unique humor was the perfect blend of comedy and cars πŸš— firefly, on the other hand, left us with so much unfinished business πŸš€ and this life is still relatable today - student loans, job markets, social media toxicity... it's all still relevant 🀯

I'm dying over here for Firefly!!! πŸ˜‚ I mean what even is the point of having a spaceship with a crew as awesome as Mal, Zoe, Kaylee, Jayne, and Simon if we can't have more episodes? πŸš€πŸ˜© The world-building was so intricate and the characters were all so well-developed. It's like Joss Whedon just upped and left us in space (no pun intended). I'm not sure what it would take to get a revival, but I'd be down for anything at this point! πŸŽ‰

πŸ“Ί I'm all for bringing back some of these classic shows! Peep Show was just getting good, you know? Like, what happened to Mark and Jez's relationship after they moved out together? πŸ€” It's like, they left us hanging for no reason.

And don't even get me started on Firefly! I mean, it's one of the best sci-fi shows ever made. The characters were so well-developed and the world-building was incredible. It's such a shame that it only lasted one season. πŸš€

I also think it would be awesome to see Green Wing come back. The show was just so clever and funny, and Joanna Clore was hilarious as Dr. Fiona Allen. Can you imagine her doing more physical comedy? πŸ˜‚

It's crazy how some shows can just leave us wanting more. Like, I'm still thinking about what happened to the characters in This Life all these years later. 🀯

Man 🀯 I'm still thinking about Firefly all these years later... can you believe how short-lived that show was? 14 episodes and they just cut it off like that! It would be amazing to see more of Mal's banter with Kaylee, or River's wild adventures. And don't even get me started on the villains - I mean, who didn't love The Operative? πŸ€– It would be so cool if someone picked up where Firefly left off and continued the story in a way that stayed true to the original. Fingers crossed!

πŸ˜‚ I'm totally down for more of Firefly πŸš€πŸ’«, like, can you imagine what would happen if they revived it with some new characters? And omg, who wouldn't want to see Top Gear come back as a comedy show again 🀣🏎️

I think it's so sick that these shows have been cancelled after being so iconic 🀯. I mean, can you imagine what would happen if Peep Show got a reboot? Like, Mark and Jeremy are finally getting their act together, living in a sweet pad with no more dodgy flatmates πŸ˜‚. And Green Wing without the sad ending? I'd freak out too! The physical comedy was always on point, and Joanna Clore's cart-wheeling antics would still be hilarious πŸ€Ήβ€β™€οΈ.

I'm totally down for a Sapphire & Steel revival too πŸ’–. David McCallum and Joanna Lumley as Sapphire and Steel? That would be amazing, I'd watch it all day! And Deadwood? Come on, the writers couldn't have left us with those cliffhangers 🀯. It's been years since the show ended, but it still feels like yesterday.

You know who else deserves a comeback? Firefly πŸš€. The world-building and characters were so complex and captivating. I'm all for another series or even just a movie. Let's bring back Serenity and the crew, pronto! πŸ”₯

I'm so tired of rewatching all these classic shows on Netflix because they've finally made them available πŸ™„. Like, can't we just get new content already?! I mean, I love Peep Show and Green Wing as much as the next person, but 10 years after they ended is a bit excessive. Can't we just have some original series that don't suck...I mean, excel? Firefly fans will be thrilled to know that it's still widely popular, btw πŸš€. The Peripheral seems cool, though - dystopian thrillers are always a win. And can someone please bring back This Life? It was so good at capturing the angst of young adulthood πŸ’”. Oh, and I'm so down for a Top Gear revival...as long as they don't get rid of Richard Hammond's wife πŸ˜‚.

I'd love to see Peep Show revived! 🀣 I always wondered what happened to Mark and Jez after they finally got their act together... or not πŸ˜‚ It was such an iconic show that still makes me laugh. And can we please bring back Green Wing? Joanna Clore's cart-wheeling antics are still the best thing I've seen on TV πŸŽ‰ The sci-fi series Sapphire & Steel was so underrated and I loved how mature it tackled complex themes. Firefly is another one, I miss the characters and world-building... it would be amazing to see more of Serenity's adventures πŸš€ And what about This Life? The original storylines were so relatable and tight, I'd love to see a revival that updates the issues with modern society πŸ‘

You guys still miss Peep Show so much lol 🀣 I was rewatching some of the old episodes recently and I'm like "what happened to Mark and Jez after the show ended?" πŸ˜‚ It'd be awesome if they did another series, even if it's just a few more episodes. The cast is still so great together!

I agree with you about Green Wing too! Joanna Clore was such an amazing comedic actress and I loved her physical comedy skills πŸ€Ήβ€β™€οΈ. A new series without the sad ending would be perfect for me.

Sapphire & Steel has a really dedicated fanbase, it's cool to see people like Ian Crook advocating for a revival. David McCallum and Joanna Lumley were definitely great in their roles, so I think it could work well if done right πŸš€

Deadwood is still one of my fave western dramas, there's something about the characters that just draws you in πŸ’₯ And I'm with Lesley Johnson on Foyle's War - the period drama genre can be really underappreciated sometimes.

Top Gear was always so much fun to watch, especially when they first started out 🏎️. A new series with some fresh faces could work well, maybe something like a revival of the original format?

Firefly is another show that still has such a dedicated fanbase, it's amazing how many people are still passionate about the series after all these years πŸ’« And The Peripheral... I'm intrigued by the premise, so let's see if we can get some more of it πŸ€”

man this is like so frustrating lol can't even post something without getting emotional about it 🀯 i mean come on can't we just get another season of firefly or peep show already? all these old shows have such iconic characters and storylines its not fair that they got cut short πŸ˜” top gear too i loved watching richard hammond and james may back in the day, thats when the show was actually funny πŸš— meanwhile now its just some boring car reviews with a few celebrities trying to be funny πŸ’β€β™€οΈ
