Eagles-Bears Week 13 injury report, with analysis

Philadelphia Eagles face injury concerns as Chicago Bears look poised to be severely depleted at linebacker.

The Philadelphia Eagles are set to take on the Chicago Bears in Week 13, and with their own secondary concerns, they'll need all hands on deck to prepare for this matchup. However, one area of concern appears to be a lack of depth at linebacker, as the Bears are facing significant injuries to their unit.

Tremaine Edmunds, the team's leader at this position, has been ruled out due to a groin injury suffered against the Vikings in Week 11. T.J. Edwards, another key linebacker, missed six games earlier in the season and will also be unavailable. Noah Sewell is expected to fill Edwards' spot but his own status is uncertain. The Bears' linebacking corps, which was supposed to provide depth for Edmunds and Edwards, has been severely depleted.

Edmunds, a Pro Bowl selection last year, leads the team with 89 tackles and four interceptions while also recording nine pass breakups. Edwards, another starter, has missed six games this season and will be replaced by Sewell. While Sewell played well against the Steelers in Week 12, he'll face his first test against the Eagles.

Their absence could significantly impact Chicago's ability to cover the Eagles' high-powered offense. The Bears will likely start D'Marco Jackson and Amen Ogbongbemiga at linebacker but this won't be ideal for a team that was already struggling to contain opponents through the air.

The Philadelphia Eagles, meanwhile, are dealing with their own injury concerns, particularly in their secondary. Lane Johnson's Lisfranc injury doesn't appear to be too serious, but he will not play against the Bears due to his status as an out player. DeVonta Smith is also dealing with a shoulder issue that may impact his ability to play on Wednesday.

The Chicago Bears' linebacker situation could have significant implications for this week's matchup and beyond, as Chicago looks poised to be severely depleted at this position.

idk how the bears are gonna keep up w/ the eagles offense 🤯 i mean we all know mvp potential is there but injuries are just piling up, not sure if teddy ginn can carry them on his back alone... also gotta wonder how lane johnson's lil injury is gonna affect devonta smith, think he's one of the most clutch receivers in the league rn 🤔

man... think bears are gonna get destroyed by eagles defense 🤦‍♂️💥 they got like 2 good linebackers now and eagles offense is straight fire 🔥💪 need to see how eagles secondary plays out with lane johnson out tho 👀🤕

I'm really loving the fall season right now 🍁🎃️... I mean, have you guys ever noticed how amazing the smell of bonfires is? Like, it's this perfect blend of smoky and sweet that just makes you want to cozy up with a warm cup of apple cider. And don't even get me started on the aesthetics of fall decorations - there's just something so charming about string lights and pumpkins and... wait, what were we talking about again? 😂

Oh yeah, the Eagles vs Bears game! I'm actually thinking of heading to a football party this weekend, but now that I think about it, have you guys tried those new sourdough pretzels at the ballpark? They're literally the perfect combination of salty and buttery...

Dude the Eagles are still gonna crush it even without Lane Johnson 🤹‍♂️, their offense is too lit! But seriously though, this Bears linebacker situation is a major concern, T.J. Edwards was a key player and now they gotta rely on Noah Sewell who's got potential but hasn't played that much yet... maybe the Eagles can exploit this? The Eagles' secondary issues are still a worry tho, DeVonta Smith's shoulder issue could be game-changer... what do u think tho? 🤔

I gotta say, this Chicago Bears linebacking corps is in some serious trouble 🤯. With Edmunds out and Edwards missing six games already, it's gonna be a tough road ahead for them. I mean, Noah Sewell stepping in seems like a good plan but can he fill the void? And don't even get me started on their depth issues - it's like they're playing with one hand tied behind their backs 🤦‍♂️.

The Eagles' secondary woes are always a concern, but I'm more worried about how this Bears defense will hold up against Philly's high-powered offense. It's gonna be interesting to see how this all plays out...

this bears linebacking unit is so thin right now 🤯, i mean tremaine edmunds was a key guy but he went down with an injury and TJ edwards has been out for like 6 games already 🤦‍♂️, that's not ideal especially when you're facing the eagles' offense. i think they were gonna rely on their depth to hold it together but now it looks like they'll be starting some newbies, that could get ugly ⚽️. and it's not just about this week either, if they keep losing guys at linebacker it's gonna hurt their season in the long run 📉
