Emile Heskey: 'Gone are the times when you just ignore abuse. No. Why should we?'

OMG did u know that Emile Heskey played in the prem? 🤯 like i dont no much about footy but i heard he's been through some rite bad stuff on the pitch 😔 and now he's making an app to help stop people from being racist to other players 🙌 i think thats so cool cuz i hate it when ppl are mean online too 😡

btw has anyone else noticed how many footy games have a " penalty shootout" 🏀 its like every single game has one lol what is that even supposed to be? 🤷‍♀️

idk what's wrong with some ppl, they still think its okay 2 shout racist abuse at ppl playing footy 🤦‍♂️👎 it wasnt always like this, i remember growing up watching emile heskey play & he never got treated bad. now theres apps like his new one to report abuse but u feel me, its not enough ppl need 2 be held accountable for their actions 💯 and btw female commentators gettin abused is a whole nother level of messed up 🚫

Racism in football is still a massive problem 🤕. Emile Heskey's story about getting chased from the stadium as a 14-year-old is just horrific. It highlights how far we still have to go in terms of creating a safe space for players, fans, and even their families.

I think social media is a big part of the issue here 📱. It's like everyone thinks they're above the law when it comes to spreading hate. And because of that, stadiums can be breeding grounds for racism too 🏟️. Heskey's idea of creating an app that allows fans to report abuse and provides a central hub for security professionals is genius 💡.

But what really gets me is how women in football are disproportionately affected by this kind of abuse 👀. It's not just about racism, it's also about sexism and misogyny. And because they're successful on the pitch, they get even more scrutiny 🔒. It's like they're under a microscope 24/7.

I think Heskey is onto something when he says that football can be a safe space for everyone 🌈. We just need to make sure we're creating an environment where people feel valued and respected. And if we don't, then we'll never get there 🚫.

🤔 Emile Heskey's experiences with racism in football are super sobering and it makes you wanna roll your eyes at the same time because how can this still be happening in 2025? 🙄 It's crazy that he had to deal with abuse at just 14 years old. I mean, what's wrong with some people, right? And now they're making these apps to report abuse, which is a good start, but it feels like we're all just scratching the surface here...
