Entre Nous - Paris Photo 2025: World's biggest photography fair opens in French capital

The world's biggest photography fair, Paris Photo 2025, officially opened in the French capital last weekend. The four-day event at the Grand Palais will feature over 350 exhibitors showcasing an incredible array of photography styles and techniques.

Among those exhibiting is Anna Planas, the artistic director of Paris Photo 2025, who spoke with France24 about what visitors can expect from this year's exhibition.

One exhibit to watch out for is "The Village on the Highway" by Indian artist Gauri Gill, whose work focuses on rural India and the 2021 farmers' protest.

I'm telling you, there's something fishy going on at Paris Photo 2025 ๐Ÿค”... like, have you seen the lineup of exhibitors? 350 is a lot, man. It's like they're trying to distract us from something. And Anna Planas, the artistic director, seems way too chill about what's really going down. I mean, her comments on social media were super vague, just talking about "exploring the human condition" and all that jazz ๐Ÿ™„... sounds like corporate-speak to me.

And then there's Gauri Gill's exhibit on rural India and the farmers' protest... now we're getting somewhere ๐Ÿ˜’. I bet the powers that be want us to focus on some feel-good story about art and social justice, while they're really hiding something in plain sight ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Mark my words, this exhibition is gonna be more than just a showcase of pretty pictures... it's gonna be a smokescreen for something bigger ๐Ÿšจ.

I'm kinda skeptical about these high-end photography fairs ๐Ÿค”. Like, isn't it just a bunch of rich people showing off their fancy cameras and pretending to be "art"? Don't get me wrong, I love a good pic as much as the next person, but can't we just have some street photography or something instead of all this over-the-top stuff? And what's with the emphasis on famous artists like Gauri Gill? Like, who even is she and how did she become so popular so fast? It feels like they're more interested in selling you a lifestyle than actually showcasing any real talent. And don't even get me started on the price tags on some of these prints... I mean, come on! You can buy a whole new camera for what they're charging for one picture ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ˜’

๐Ÿค— I'm so excited for all the amazing photography works being showcased at Paris Photo this year! It's incredible that the event has grown to feature over 350 exhibitors - it's like a love letter to photography! ๐Ÿ“ธ I love how Anna Planas described the exhibition as an "incredible array of photography styles and techniques" - it's clear she's passionate about bringing these talented artists together. And omg, Gauri Gill's exhibit sounds so powerful, highlighting the struggles of rural India and the 2021 farmers' protest... it's like a punch to the heart but in the best way possible ๐Ÿคฏ. I'm sure it'll be a really moving experience for everyone who gets to see it. Can't wait to hear all about it after the event! ๐Ÿ˜Š

lol the world's biggest photography fair... just what we all needed, another excuse to go to Paris ๐Ÿ—ผ๏ธ and spend a fortune on art prints ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ’ธ. but hey, if you're into that sorta thing, it sounds like they've got some pretty interesting exhibits lined up, from rural India to whatever else Gauri Gill's work is about ๐Ÿค”. and I'm sure the Grand Palais is just buzzing with excitement over the usual crowd of photography snobs ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ‘ฅ... anyway, good luck getting tickets ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ, because i'm sure they'll sell out in 2 seconds ๐Ÿ‘€.

idk about all these photography fairs that seem to pop up every few years... i mean, whats so special about them? are we really gonna be blown away by more of the same old pics on a big wall? seems like everyone's just trying to make some cash off their artistic "talents". anyway, gotta give credit to india's gauri gill tho, her work does sound interesting... all that rural india stuff and farmers' protests... thats a topic worth explorin'. but idk if it'll be enough to save the whole event from feelin like just another pointless art fair ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ“ธ

๐Ÿ“ธ๐ŸŽ‰ I'm so stoked that Paris Photo 2025 is back in town! I mean, a four-day fest with over 350 exhibitors? That's like a dream come true for photography lovers like me ๐Ÿคฉ. And Anna Planas as the artistic director? She must be totally passionate about the art form to take on such a big role ๐Ÿ˜Š.

I'm really intrigued by Gauri Gill's exhibit, "The Village on the Highway". The theme of rural India and the farmers' protest is so important, you know? I think it's awesome that she's using her platform to raise awareness about these issues ๐ŸŒŽ. As someone who loves taking pictures with my phone, I'm all for exploring new ways to capture life's moments and tell stories through photography ๐Ÿ“ธ. Can't wait to check out the exhibit and see what other amazing work is on display this year! ๐Ÿ’ก

I'm telling ya, there's gotta be more to this photography fair than meets the eye ๐Ÿค”. I mean, think about it, 350 exhibitors and they're all just gonna be showcasing their snaps? No way! There's some kinda hidden agenda at play here. Maybe it's a government-funded op to control the narrative on rural India or something. And what's with this "Village on the Highway" exhibit by Gauri Gill? It sounds like propaganda to me ๐Ÿ“ธ. I'm not saying she's not a talented artist, but is her work just being used as a tool for social commentary? I don't know about you guys, but I'll be keeping an eye out for any suspicious activity at Paris Photo 2025 ๐Ÿ‘€.
