Europa League draw: Celtic v Stuttgart, Nottingham Forest v Fenerbahce

Celtic, the Scottish club, will face Stuttgart in a Europa League play-off tie after being drawn against them. The Hoops booked their spot in the competition with a 4-2 win against Utrecht in the final round of qualifying, securing 21st place in the league phase table. Martin O'Neill's side could have been drawn against Hungarian club Ferencvaros, managed by Robbie Keane, but will instead face the Bundesliga club.

The first leg at Celtic Park will be a crucial moment for Celtic as they seek to overcome their German opponents and progress to the last 16 of the competition. They beat Stuttgart in that run to the final four years ago and assistant coach Shaun Maloney scored the winning goal in a 5-4 aggregate win.

"It's going to be tough, but it's a great game," said Maloney. "It'll be brilliant for our supporters."

Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, will face Fenerbahce in their Europa League play-off tie after being drawn against them. The Trammps earned a home tie in the second leg of the play-off against Greek side Panathinaikos.

The play-off games will take place on 19 and 26 February, with Celtic and Stuttgart set to face off first. If Forest can overcome Fenerbahce, they will face Midtjylland or Real Betis in the next round.

The top eight teams from the league phase have already qualified for the last 16 of the competition, including Lyon, Aston Villa, Midtjylland, Real Betis, Porto, Braga, Freiburg, and Roma.

I think it's gonna be a real nail-biter between Celtic and Stuttgart! 🤯 Those German teams can be pretty tough to beat, especially on their home turf. I'm still hyped about the Hoops' win over Utrecht tho, 4-2 is no joke! 😎 Now they gotta bring that momentum into the play-off against Stuttgart... fingers crossed for Martin O'Neill and the lads 🤞

I'm not sure how I feel about Celtic getting drawn against Stuttgart again 😐. Like, don't get me wrong, it's gonna be a great game for the fans and all that 🎉, but it's also a tough draw, right? They beat them last time around, but that was four years ago... what makes this time different? 🤔 Can someone provide some stats or analysis on why Celtic should be confident about beating Stuttgart again? 💡

🤔 i'm low-key worried about celtic's chances against stuttgart. they got lucky last time around and it wasnt exactly a stellar performance from them either. and stuttgart are lookin fierce this season 🚀 martin o'nello's side might be overconfident after makin the final four years ago 🤷‍♂️ we should see how they handle the pressure this time round 👊

I'm not sure what's more intriguing about this Europa League play-off tie - Celtic's prospects or the fact that we're witnessing a beautiful symmetry in the lives of two men 🤔. Martin O'Neill, the manager, has navigated his team through qualifying with finesse, while Robbie Keane, now managing Ferencvaros, had previously triumphed over Celtic four years ago... and Shaun Maloney, Celtic's assistant coach, scored that winning goal back then 💪. It's like life's trying to tell us a story about perseverance and redemption. Will this be the turning point for Celtic? Can they overcome the odds and write their own narrative? The universe is full of possibilities 🔮

🤔 u think celtic has a good chance of beating Stuttgart in this play-off tie? they were really close to gettin that spot last season but got knocked out 🙅‍♂️ still gotta give it to ems tho, 4-2 win against Utrecht was no joke 😎
