Aston Villa Came From Behind to Beat Red Bull Salzburg 3-2
Aston Villa were on the brink of elimination from the Europa League before Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba scored a dramatic late winner in a thrilling comeback victory over Red Bull Salzburg.
The Villans trailed by two goals at halftime, but they staged an incredible fightback with three minutes to spare. Jimoh-Aloba's strike sealed a 3-2 win for Aston Villa and ensured their qualification for the knockout phase of the competition.
Salzburg took control in the first half through Tyrone Mings' error and Karim Konaté's own goal, before doubling their lead on the restart through Moussa Yeo. However, Villa reduced the deficit with Morgan Rogers scoring from close range.
The Villans then levelled when Ashley Young crossed for Mings to head home at the near post. Just minutes later, Jimoh-Aloba popped up with a late winner after Kadan Young had created the chance with a low cross.
Unai Emery's side now finish second in Group E behind Lyon, who secured top spot following their 4-2 win over PAOK.
