FA Cup highlights: Liverpool 4-1 Barnsley

Liverpool Seals Third Round FA Cup Win with Late Show

The Reds continued their FA Cup campaign in style as they thrashed League One side Barnsley 4-1 at Anfield. The late goals, scored within a six-minute span in the second half, were enough to separate two vastly different teams.

Barnsley started brightly, taking the lead through an early strike from Alfie May. However, Liverpool soon found their footing and leveled the scores through Sadio Mané's goal on 35 minutes. The Merseysiders went ahead at the break through a clever free-kick from Jordan Henderson, sending his teammates into raptures.

The visitors equalized just before halftime, but that was as close as Barnsley came to level terms. Liverpool responded in the second half with three goals in quick succession, courtesy of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, and again Mané. The final scoreline stood at 4-1 in favor of the hosts.

Manager Jürgen Klopp praised his side's resilience, saying "We showed a lot of character and togetherness." Liverpool's victory sets them up for a fifth-round FA Cup match against Middlesbrough next week, while Barnsley will face Stevenage.

OMG what's with all these late goals 🤯 Liverpool is like on fire right now 💨 I mean, 4 goals in 6 minutes? That's insane! Sadio Mané is like a goal-scoring machine 🔥 And why did Barnsley start so brightly then just went downhill 🤔 Did they get tired or was it like their strategy didn't work out 🤷‍♂️ Jürgen Klopp seems really proud of his team, but what's the secret to their success? Is it just the squad chemistry or is there something more to it 🔮

I was just thinking about the new season of that great Netflix show I've been binging, you know, the one with the super cool time-traveling characters 🕰️? Anyway, what really got me is how the plot twists keep you on the edge of your seat... reminds me of when Liverpool took on Manchester United in the League Cup back in 2017 and that last-minute winner was just crazy 🔥! Do you think the FA Cup is more exciting this year than the Premier League?

omg u guys lfp is on fire!! 🚀 they're crushing it in the fa cup too! i was at anfield when they played newcastle and mané scored like 3 goals lol what can u say about klopp he's a genius coach!!! 🤩 his tactics are so smart always adapting to the game. and btw lfp is gonna smash middlesbrough next week 😏 i'm already hyped for it! ⚽

It's crazy how one team can have so much momentum in just 6 minutes 🤯! I mean, Barnsley was totally on fire at first, but then Liverpool adjusted their strategy and it was like night and day. It's a great lesson in perseverance, you know? We all go through ups and downs in life, and sometimes we need to adjust our approach to get back on track. And that's exactly what Klopp did – he made the necessary adjustments and his team responded with some incredible performances! 🙌

idk why ppl still bother watchin this FA cup stuff 😒, its all just a bunch of teams kickin the ball around, like who cares? Liverpool got lucky with those late goals 🤦‍♂️, could've easily been 4-2 if they didnt have so much time to kill. Barnsley played decent 4 mins and thats it 💥, rest is history. Klopp's all proud of his team but honestly its just cos he wants the trophy for his ego 🙄

omg what a wild game 🤯Liverpool totally deserved that win after coming from behind like 3 times 🙌Sadio Mané is on fire right now 🔥 and that late show was insane 3 goals in 6 minutes is just crazy ⏱️I'm so happy for the Reds they've shown their character and togetherness as Jürgen Klopp said 🙏anyway Barnsley put up a great fight but Liverpool's squad depth paid off 💪can't wait for the next round against Middlesbrough 🤞

I'm hyped for Liverpool's win 🤩 but at the same time, I'm worried about their mental health 🤕 playing all these matches in a short span of time. They're gonna need to pace themselves or risk burnout ⏰. It's great that they showed resilience and teamwork, but let's not forget they're still human beings 😴. Also, Barnsley got destroyed lol what happened to them? 🤷‍♂️ anyway, 5th round against Middlesbrough should be a good test for the Reds 🔥

😂 Liverpool's squad depth is insane! They can come back from behind like it's nothing 🤯 Anyone can see that Firmino and Salah were on fire tonight 🔥 Mané's goalscoring record is just ridiculous 📊 Jürgen Klopp must be getting the best out of his players now 👏

I don’t usually comment but I think it’s kinda weird that Liverpool got away with scoring 4 goals in like what, 6 minutes? 🤯 It felt like they just dominated the whole game and Barnsley wasn’t even giving them a chance. Like, fair play to them for winning big, but it didn't really feel like a normal FA Cup match. 😅 The final score was sweet tho!

I'm still trying to wrap my head around how different the game was back in 99 when we had our first FA Cup win with Robbie Fowler... I mean, it's just not the same rush of adrenaline, you know? These new-age players like Mané and Salah are so fast! 🏃‍♂️ I love it though. They're giving us hope that maybe we can finally catch up to those Premier League teams. And Klopp's got them playing some slick stuff... reminds me of a certain Fergie, back when United used to dominate the competition... anyway, 4-1 is a decent scoreline, but it was more like 3-1 in our favor with a few dubious penalties called against Barnsley 🤔

OMG, didn't see that coming! I was expecting a normal win for the Reds, but those three late goals were pure magic 💫🔥. And I gotta agree with Jürgen Klopp, they did show some serious character and togetherness on the pitch today 🤝. Barnsley just got outplayed and outgunned, no shame in that 😊. By the way, 4-1 is a pretty easy scoreline for Liverpool, I mean, Sadio Mané has been on fire lately 🔥!

omg i'm so glad liverpool could pull off that win 🤩 i mean they really showed their squad depth and man é was on fire 🔥 4 goals from the guy? i know jürgen klopp is always hyping his team but this time he's not wrong 😂 barnsley just couldn't keep up with liverpool's pace and intensity. what a way to celebrate their 3rd round fa cup win 🎉 now they're one step closer to that elusive trophy 💪

I'm loving how the Reds are really getting into the zone right now 😊! I mean, they've been on fire all season and it's amazing to see them dominate teams like Barnsley in such a big game. The thing is, though, you can tell that Klopp's squad has so much depth - I mean, who else could replace their star players with a bunch of benchwarmers and still win 4-1? 🤯 It's like they have this special magic that just makes the opposition look silly. Anyway, can't wait to see how they take on Middlesbrough next week! Fingers crossed for another win 💪

Wow 🤩 the way Liverpool came from behind was insane! I mean, 3 goals in 6 minutes is just ridiculous ⏱️, especially with Sadio Mané scoring twice 🎯. Jürgen Klopp's comment about character and togetherness is spot on too 💪, shows he really knows his team. Can't wait for the next round of FA Cup match against Middlesbrough! 😃

🏆 just watched this game and what a show 🤩 lfc is on fire rn 🚀 can't wait to see them take on middlesbrough next round 🎉 4-1 was the scoreline and it felt like 10-0 lol barnsley gave it their all though 👏

I'm so glad my kids can watch live football games like this! It's amazing how much excitement it brings to the whole house 🏠🔴⚽️. I mean, I've seen some tough losses at their sports events too, but you know what? They always bounce back and learn from those experiences 😊. Liverpool's manager seems really proud of his team's resilience - that's something my kids can definitely get on board with! 👏. And who knows, maybe they'll grow up to be football stars like these guys 🤞. By the way, has anyone else noticed how many amazing things Jürgen Klopp is doing for his team and his players? He really seems to care about their well-being beyond just winning games 💕.
