Five years after Jan. 6, Capitol attack continues to divide America

I dont get why some people still have issues with what happened on Jan 6 ๐Ÿค”. It's been five years now and we should be over it by now... I mean, most people remember the violence and the dead bodies left outside the Capitol building ๐Ÿ’€. But for some Trump supporters, he's still trying to shift the blame onto others instead of taking responsibility for his own words that might have incited the riot ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. It just seems like a big mess to me ๐Ÿ˜ฉ.

And can we talk about how some people are still pushing for officials who investigated the riot to be fired? That's not gonna help anything and just creates more divisions ๐Ÿšซ. I mean, we should be working together as a country, not trying to tear each other down ๐Ÿ”ฅ. We need unity and accountability, like Winston Pingeon said ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

I also dont understand why some Republicans are still questioning the delay in hanging a plaque honoring the police at the Capitol ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. I mean, come on, we just had five people die because of the riot... shouldn't that be enough of an honor for them? ๐Ÿ’”

I'm still shook thinking about what happened on Jan 6th ๐Ÿค•. I mean, five years later and it's like America is still trying to figure out how to deal with the aftermath. I was glued to my TV watching all the chaos unfold. The thought of those rioters storming the Capitol and causing so much harm is just mind-blowing ๐Ÿ˜ฑ.

I think it's crazy that Trump is still trying to shift the blame onto the people who were actually hurt by his actions. It's like he's trying to rewrite history ๐Ÿ“š. And the fact that some Republicans are still questioning the delay in hanging a plaque honoring the police at the Capitol? It just shows how divided America is right now ๐Ÿ’”.

But what really gets me is the lack of accountability for those who were involved. I mean, Trump has been indicted on four counts and there's still so much uncertainty around it all ๐Ÿคฏ. And as Winston Pingeon said, "We need to remember what happened" - we need to make sure that we learn from our mistakes and do better in the future ๐Ÿ’ช.

It's like, America is this crazy, beautiful mess of a country and sometimes I feel like we're still trying to figure out how to put all the pieces together ๐ŸŒˆ. But I'm hopeful that one day we'll get there - where we can come together as a nation and truly celebrate our differences ๐Ÿ’–.

The scars on the Capitol building are more than just physical... they're also emotional ๐Ÿ’”. Five years have passed since the traumatic event, but it's clear that the wounds still linger. What's interesting to me is how we've come to accept this divide in our country ๐Ÿคฏ. We can't just point fingers at one person or party; it's a complex issue that requires us to look inward and confront our own biases and fears ๐Ÿ”.

I think about what Winston Pingeon, the former US Capitol Police officer, said โ€“ that we need unity and common ground ๐ŸŒˆ. It's easy to say this from the comfort of our homes, but when it comes down to it, we have to be willing to put in the work to bridge those gaps ๐Ÿ’ช.

It's not just about remembering what happened on January 6; it's also about learning from it and growing as individuals ๐Ÿ“š. We can't just continue to repeat the same patterns of behavior that led to this event. We need to take responsibility for our actions and hold ourselves accountable ๐Ÿ”’.

The Proud Boys gathering outside the Capitol, honoring Ashli Babbitt and those who died in the siege... it's a stark reminder of how quickly hate and extremism can spread ๐Ÿšจ. But we can't just focus on the negative; we have to work towards creating a more compassionate and inclusive society โค๏ธ.

๐Ÿค” I think it's super rich that Trump is trying to shift blame onto his own supporters when we all know he was egging them on from behind the scenes ๐Ÿคฏ. Like, if he really meant for things to go down peacefully, why did he keep saying "fight like hell" and whatnot? ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ And now Democrats are right to call him out on it... but at the same time, I think some of the other Republicans who weren't as vocal about Trump's incitement need to step up and own their role in this too ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. It's not just about Trump, it's about the whole party's complicity in enabling his rhetoric ๐Ÿšซ.

i was just thinking about how we need more trees in our cities ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ’š like, urban forestry is super important for air quality and mental health... have you guys ever been to a city with really nice parks? ๐Ÿž๏ธ i think it's crazy that some people are still fighting over stuff that happened 5 years ago... can't we all just get along? ๐Ÿ˜Š
