Frequent food truck patron killed, suspect outstanding in Spring Branch shooting, HPD says

Tragedy Strikes Food Truck Owner After Regular Customer Found Shot to Death

A quiet Friday night turned into a nightmare for food truck owner Raquel Osorio when her regular customer, Gerardo Villalobos Salgado, was found shot dead in his vehicle parked near her business. The victim, 50, was a frequent patron who had become like family to Osorio over the past two months.

Osorio described Salgado as someone who would always stay and talk, making everyone laugh with his jokes and jokes around him. She recalled that on the night of the shooting, she saw Salgado's vehicle pull up, but when she stepped away from the window, shots were fired. The incident has left Osorio feeling sad and shaken.

Police say they are now looking for 41-year-old Edwin Leonel Caal Gill, who is already charged with murder. According to court documents, Caal has a history of misdemeanor charges. Authorities have not released a motive in the murder, leaving many questions unanswered.

Osorio's business owner community is also seeking answers. They knew Salgado and are eager to understand what led up to this senseless tragedy. The Houston Police Department is conducting an investigation into the homicide, but so far, no motive has been revealed.

The incident highlights the sense of safety concerns in a bustling neighborhood like Spring Branch, where food trucks often operate late at night. As Osorio struggles to come to terms with her loss, she can't help but wonder what would have happened if only someone had intervened or alerted authorities sooner.

Ugh, this is so senseless ๐Ÿคฏ. I mean, think about it, a food truck owner gets her regular customer killed and no one's doing squat about it? The police are like "oh, we're looking for the guy" but come on, get a move on! Edwin Caal Gill already got charged with murder, what took you guys so long? ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ And what's up with this motive thing, do they really not know who killed Gerardo Villalobos Salgado? It's like he just vanished into thin air ๐Ÿ’€. I'm so sorry for Raquel Osorio and her community, but someone needs to get some answers in here ASAP ๐Ÿ“.

man this is so sad ๐Ÿค•, I keep thinking about that poor guy who just got murdered in broad daylight... 41 years old and already a history of misdemeanor charges... you'd think he'd get some help before things escalated like this ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I feel for Raquel Osorio, she must be devastated... it's not just the loss of her friend but also the fact that she can't even feel safe having her food truck in a busy area like Spring Branch ๐Ÿšจ. And what really gets me is that we're still living in a society where someone can get shot over a crime and we don't know why or how it happened ๐Ÿค”.

๐Ÿ˜ฑ this is so sad! i'm all about supporting our local business owners like Raquel ๐Ÿš€, but something like this just hits you right in the gut โค๏ธ it's crazy that Edwin Caal Gill thought he could just kill Gerardo and not get caught yet ๐Ÿคฏ hopefully justice will be served ASAP ๐Ÿ’ฅ and we can get back to enjoying good food and safe vibes in Spring Branch ๐ŸŒฎ๐Ÿ’•

aww man, this is so sad ๐Ÿค• my heart goes out to Raquel and the community, i feel like we need to be super supportive of each other right now ๐Ÿ’• its just crazy how one minute ur life can change forever, and the next u r tryna make sense of it all. i hope Edwin gets the help he needs, but at the same time, i dont wanna wish anything on anyone, u know? ๐Ÿคž the thing is, we cant let fear take over, we need to be proactive about keeping each other safe ๐Ÿšจ so, yeah, lets just take a deep breath and support one another through this tough time ๐Ÿ’—

ugh I'm so sorry for Raquel and the community ๐Ÿค•... but at the same time, how could this guy just walk into a food truck uninvited? like, isn't that a pretty big red flag? ๐Ÿšจ i mean, i get that Salgado was a regular and all, but you can't just waltz in wherever you want, you know?... or is that what we should be saying to the killer? ๐Ÿค” that he's guilty as sin? no way, maybe Edwin didn't even do it... maybe he's being framed?! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

omg this is such a tragedy ๐Ÿค•... i feel so bad for Raquel and the community ๐Ÿค—... it's just heartbreaking to think that some1 u trusted with ur life & business got taken away ๐Ÿ˜ญ... Edwin Caal might have a history of misdemeanor charges, but 41 yrs old is still young & full of life ๐Ÿคฏ... maybe there's more 2 this story than meets the eye ๐Ÿ‘€... authorities say no motive yet, but i think we're all wonderin what if? ๐Ÿค”... wut kinda world r we livin in wen u cant even walk down the street without gettin shot at? ๐ŸŒช๏ธ... food trucks are meant 2 bring ppl together, not separate them ๐Ÿ’•... hope Raquel gets thru this & finds a way 2 heal ๐Ÿ’ซ

sad thing this ๐Ÿค•
so some guy gets shot in his car and now a whole food truck business is hurting because of it
i feel bad for raquel, she knew him like family
police got someone who did it, but dont know motive yet
community is all like "what happened?"
should be safe to park ur food truck late at night ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ
idk what woulda happen if some1 noticed something weird and told cops sooner ๐Ÿšจ

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this ๐Ÿ˜•. It's just heartbreaking to think about Raquel Osorio and the whole community going through this. I mean, who wouldn't want to help a guy who was basically a regular part of their lives? ๐Ÿค” The fact that it happened in broad daylight is already so scary, and now they're left wondering what could've been done differently. It's like, we should all be looking out for each other, you know? ๐Ÿค

And to think about Edwin Caal being charged with murder but no motive... it's just so frustrating ๐Ÿ˜ก. The police need to dig deeper and find out what happened. This isn't right at all ๐Ÿ’”. We can only hope that justice is served and the community can start healing soon. Thoughts are with Raquel Osorio and everyone who knew Gerardo Salgado ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’•

๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ’” Can't believe this happened to Raquel and her community ๐Ÿค•. I mean, Edwin Caal Gill already got charged with murder, but still no motive? That's so messed up ๐Ÿ’ฅ. Anyone who's a regular customer at food trucks knows how much it means to have a connection with the owners, you know? Salgado was like family to Raquel and that's what makes this tragedy even more heartbreaking ๐Ÿค—. Food truck owners need to feel safe too, especially when they're working late hours ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ. Hopefully, the police find some answers soon and justice is served for Gerardo ๐Ÿ’ฏ. My heart goes out to Raquel and her business, I hope she gets the support she needs during this tough time ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿ˜” I just can't believe this is happening in our community. I've been a regular customer of Raquel's food truck too, and the thought of Gerardo being taken from us like that is just devastating ๐Ÿคฏ. It makes me think about how we should be more aware of our surroundings when we're out at night, especially with all these food trucks around. Maybe someone saw or heard something suspicious that night? ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ We need to come together as a community to support Raquel and her business during this tough time ๐Ÿ’•.

I've been thinking, why do we always hear about the bad guys getting caught, but what about the regular people who get hurt in these senseless tragedies? ๐Ÿค” It's not like Edwin Caal was some kind of mastermind or anything... just a guy with a history of mistakes ๐Ÿ˜. Anyways, I'm just gonna loop back to my previous comment... we need to make sure our food truck owners have the support they need, especially after something like this happens ๐Ÿšจ.
