Friday's high school basketball scores

High School Basketball Scores Roll On, But Weather Takes Center Stage as Games Get Postponed.

Friday's slate of high school basketball games saw a mix of thrilling victories and frustrating postponements due to inclement weather. As the final buzzer sounded on last night's matchups, officials scrambled to re-schedule several contests that had been pushed back from their originally scheduled dates.

In one of the more memorable upsets of the day, De La Salle edged out rival Fenwick 53-26 in a Chicago Catholic Blue showdown. Brother Rice's game against St. Francis was also cancelled due to weather, while Loyola struggled with similar issues on the court.

In a Chicago Catholic White matchup, Marmion took down St. Rita 58-52 in an intense battle that left fans on the edge of their seats. But for several teams, including Holy Trinity and Aurora Central, Friday's games were simply too wet to play.

On the Independent side of town, Latin was unable to get its game against U-High off the ground due to weather conditions. Meanwhile, Sycamore took down Rochelle 94-82 in an Interstate Eight showdown that left a lasting impression on the crowd.

Beacon scored a crucial win over Wolcott 57-50 in a Lake Shore matchup, while Providence-St. Mel and IC Catholic also saw their games cancelled due to inclement weather.

As for the Metro Prep division, Lombard CPSA emerged victorious against Islamic Foundation. However, not all teams were so lucky, as the Dupage Valley division saw several postponements due to bad weather.

In a North Suburban matchup, Waukegan bested Lake Zurich 66-50 in a closely contested game that had fans on the edge of their seats. However, Zion-Benton struggled with similar issues on the court.

On the Northern Lake County side of town, Grant took down Grayslake North 82-75 in an intense battle that left a lasting impression on the crowd.

As the weather continues to wreak havoc on high school sports, one thing is certain: Friday's games may be over, but the excitement won't stop anytime soon.

omg i dont get why cant they just play when its not raining lol πŸ˜‚πŸ€ weather is so annoying!!

i wasnt able to watch many of these games cuz my wifi has been super slow all day 🀯😩

anyway i heard that De La Salle played a sick game against Fenwick and scored a lot of points πŸ“ˆπŸ’ͺ

also, Marmion's win over St. Rita sounded like it was super intense πŸ˜…πŸ‘Š

waukegan beating lake zurich 66-50 is like a major upset lol what happened?! πŸ€”

ugh I dont get why they cant just play indoor basketball πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ like in the cities or something... these teams are so close to home and the weather is always a problem. I feel for the kids who got their game postponed, all that excitement and now its ruined because of rain β›ˆοΈ. some teams like Beacon and Sycamore did okay but I guess others just got screwed πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. cant they just move to a different venue or something?

Weather got in the way of some epic hoops battles πŸŒ‚πŸ˜”

Imagine a big diagram with 2 sides:
Left side has teams like De La Salle, Marmion, Beacon, Waukegan & Grant
Right side has teams that had games postponed or cancelled like Fenwick, Brother Rice, Loyola, Latin & Holy Trinity
πŸ“š the key is, some teams are rocking their court skills πŸ€ while others are waiting for sunnier days to shine πŸ’›

🀯 So I just checked the stats and it looks like De La Salle had an insane 3-point shooting night with 22 makes! πŸš€ That's a new school record by the way 😲. And on the other hand, Marmion's win over St. Rita was pretty close, only 6 points difference... πŸ‘€. Also, looking at the overall standings for the Chicago Catholic Blue division, it seems like De La Salle is taking the lead with an impressive 10-0 record πŸ“ˆ. But what I find really interesting is the distribution of teams in the Independent side of town - 7 out of 9 games were cancelled due to weather... ❄️ That's crazy! 😲

Ugh, those poor basketball teams getting their games postponed because of bad weather πŸ€•πŸ˜’ But on a more positive note, I love how some of these upsets and closely contested games are making the sports scene so exciting! De La Salle vs Fenwick was insane 😲 and Marmion's win over St. Rita was super intense πŸ’₯ And I'm glad to see Sycamore killing it against Rochelle πŸš€ Beacon scoring that crucial win over Wolcott is also a big deal πŸ†

And can we talk about how some of these teams are handling the weather like pros? Like, Lombard CPSA coming out on top against Islamic Foundation despite the conditions is totally inspiring πŸ’ͺ And Grant taking down Grayslake North in that intense battle? That's what sports are all about! ⚑️ The fact that they're making the most of their time and still having a blast (even if it means rescheduling) says so much about the spirit of these teams πŸ€—

ugh, can you believe this? like, i love basketball as much as the next person πŸ€, but do we really need all these games postponed because of a lil rain ☁️? it's not like it's the end of the world or anything. and now teams are gonna have to re-schedule and reschedule again... ugh. and can't they just play on weekends like normal people πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ? i mean, i know weather is unpredictable, but come on! some teams got cancelled out completely 😑. anyway, glad De La Salle won that game tho πŸ‘

omg I'm so done with these weather delays!!! can't they just play when it's sunny for once? I swear I've been waiting all week to watch some good hoops and now I have to wait even longer πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ€ anyway, that De La Salle win was crazy! Fenwick got destroyed πŸ˜‚ and I feel bad for Brother Rice, their game against St. Francis was gonna be lit too πŸ‘€

man i feel so bad for those teams who had their games cancelled due to the weather lol like they were all hyped up to play and now they gotta reschedule everything πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ it's just not fair πŸ˜” especially with marmion and st rita having that crazy close game on friday, 58-52? that was insane! and ugh dupage valley division is having a major weather meltdown rn ❄️ anyway, i guess the good news is that some teams like sycamore and lombard cpsa are still killing it πŸ€πŸ’₯ can't wait to see how the rest of the season plays out πŸ€”

ugh, cant believe w8in for those sports highlights πŸ€πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. think it's crazy how weather can just ruin everything like that! anyway, marmion's 58-52 win was SO sick πŸ”₯. and sycamore's 94-82 victory over rochelle? mind blown 😲. cant wait to see more matches & hopefully they get rescheduled 🀞. waukegan's win over lake zurich tho? nice move πŸ‘πŸ‘

ugh man can u believe this?! 🀯 first it's the scores, then it's the postponements and now the weather is getting all the attention lol like what even is a game without the actual playing part?? πŸ™„ i mean i get that safety first and all but come on sports teams can't we just make some accommodations for bad weather? πŸ˜’ and another thing what's with all these delays? it's like the games are never gonna happen. πŸ•°οΈ anyway gotta give props to De La Salle tho, 53-26 is no joke πŸ€‘

Ugh, this is just like our politicians - all talk and no action! They can't even get the weather right for these basketball games πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. I mean, come on, can't they prioritize something other than just saving face? The teams are getting frustrated, fans are getting disappointed... it's a real mess.

And you know what really gets my goat? The constant postponements. It's like they're trying to prolong the drama for their own sake. Newsflash: we don't need more games rescheduled! We need solutions, not just delays πŸ•°οΈ.

I swear, if our politicians took some lessons from these basketball coaches on managing risk and uncertainty... well, maybe things wouldn't be so messed up around here πŸ˜‚.

I'm so sick of these weather delays πŸ™„πŸŒ¨οΈ. Can't they just play in the rain or something? I mean, it's not like it's going to ruin anyone's life if a game gets postponed by a day. And what's with all the cancellations? It's not like the teams are going to get any points for showing up and playing in the snow β˜•οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ. And btw, De La Salle beating Fenwick 53-26 is basically just an excuse to say they're better than their rival πŸ˜‚. But seriously, can we just have a standard schedule already? It's getting so frustrating 🀯

"Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans."

the weather is just being its unpredictable self again, always causing a ruckus in our favorite high school basketball games. hopefully the rescheduled dates bring us more thrilling matchups to look forward to πŸ€β›ˆοΈ

I'm so over how much we're relying on technology for everything 🀯. I mean, sure, it's convenient and all that jazz, but can't we just enjoy a good ol' fashioned basketball game without having to worry about bad weather? And another thing, why do teams always have to postpone games instead of just playing them when they can? It's like, come on guys, be flexible or something! πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ I swear, some days I feel like we're more worried about the scoreboard than actual gameplay. Anyway, it was cool to see some upsets happen, but can't we just get back to normal without all this drama?

Ugh, can't even play hoops when it's raining πŸŒ‚πŸ˜’. Games getting postponed left and right... how's that gonna affect rankings? And what's with all these upsets? 53-26 is a huge swing 😳. Shoulda been prepared for rain. Anyway, guess the weather's the real MVP this week ⚑️.
