Grand Slam of Darts: Luke Littler one win away from usurping Luk Humphries as world number one

Luke Littler is just one win away from surpassing Luke Humphries as the world number one in darts after he came back from 9-6 down to beat Josh Rock in a thrilling match at the Grand Slam of Darts. The 18-year-old's incredible comeback saw him average 105.18, securing a 16-12 victory.

Littler, who is currently defending his title, had trailed by three legs but ultimately won seven consecutive legs to turn the game around. His impressive form has put him in line to face Danny Noppert in the last four on Sunday.

This win marks another milestone for Littler as he continues to rise through the darts ranks. With this victory, he is now just one step away from usurping Humphries at the top of the rankings.

In contrast, Humphries, who is currently holding onto his spot at number one, will face off against Gerwyn Price in the other semi-final.

🤔 what's up with these young players? Luke Littler was down 9-6 but still managed to come back and take the win! That's insane averaging 105.18 in a game like that... 🎯 his focus must be on mental strength, you know? He's only 18 and already he's giving these older guys a run for their money 🤑

I'm not really following darts that much, but this Luke Littler kid is on fire 🤯! I mean, he was down 9-6 and then just turned it around like nothing's wrong. That's some crazy stuff! He must be playing like a man possessed or something. 105.18 average? That sounds like a lot of points to me... I'm glad he won, but I don't know much about the rankings so I'm not sure why this is such a big deal. Is it because he's going to be number one now if he wins on Sunday? And what's with all these other guys like Danny Noppert and Gerwyn Price? They're all playing each other in the semis... seems like they're all pretty good 🤔

omg i love watching darts matches they're so intense 😱 luke littler's comeback is insane like he was down and out but then just went on a roll 🤯 105.18 is crazy what's the point of averages tho? can you really track that in the game or is it just for stats? anyway congrats to littler i hope he crushes danny noppert sunday 💪

👍 so i think its crazy to see how far luke littler has come! he was literally down 9-6 and then just went on a tear 🔄 average of 105.18 is insane. it's like he had nothing to lose at that point, you know? anyway, this win puts him in an amazing position to take down humphries for the number one spot. i'm not sure what to expect from the semis tho... gerwyn price vs humphries looks intense 🔥

OMG 🤯 I'm literally hyped for Luke Littler!!! He's been on fire lately and I think he's gonna take over the world 🌎! One win away from beating Humphries is a big deal, but like, he's already showing us what he's capable of. That comeback against Josh Rock was insane 💥 I mean, 105.18 average is crazy talk 😲! I'm totally rooting for him to take down Noppert on Sunday and become the new number one 🏆 Can't wait to see what he does next 👀

I'm low-key impressed with Luke Littler's comeback skills 🤯... wait, no, I mean how can he recover from 9-6 down? That's crazy! 🙄 But seriously, his form is insane and it's hard to deny him a chance at the top spot. I guess this is one of those situations where you gotta give credit when credit is due... unless Luke Humphries was just resting on his laurels? 😏 Still, Littler's got the momentum going for him, so we'll see how it all plays out in the semis 🤔... and if he wins, can I say I didn't bet against him? 😉
