Investigators say doomed UPS plane had cracks in engine mount, release dramatic photos of moments before deadly crash

Tragedy Strikes in Kentucky as UPS Cargo Plane Crashes, Claiming 14 Lives

A devastating crash on November 4th at the Louisville International Airport claimed the lives of 14 people when a UPS MD-11 cargo plane took off with a critical engine issue. Investigators have now released dramatic photos and video footage showing an engine flying off the plane's left wing moments before it crashed.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the MD-11 only reached a height of 30 feet, indicating the severity of the problem. The flight data recorder revealed that cracks were present in the left wing's engine mount, which could have been a contributing factor to the disaster.

Witnesses report that three pilots and numerous people on the ground near Muhammad Ali International Airport lost their lives in the tragedy. The NTSB has stated that the plane was not scheduled for an inspection of key engine mount parts, despite being nearing its due date.

Aviation safety expert Jeff Guzzetti warned that the FAA may need to reevaluate the timeframe for maintenance inspections, citing concerns over the adequacy of current regulations. UPS Airlines is working with investigators to determine the "root cause" of the crash, promising a comprehensive inspection plan and eventual return to service once repairs are complete.

Photos from the NTSB show an alarming sequence of events as the left engine detaches from the plane's wing during takeoff, flying high into the air before crashing back down. Unfortunately, some images depict the plane with its left wing ablaze.

As investigators continue their inquiry, the UPS community is mourning the loss of lives and offering support to those affected by the tragedy.

This is a perfect example of how our country's reliance on private companies like UPS can put innocent lives at risk. I mean, think about it, when was the last time you heard of a government agency taking responsibility for something that ultimately results in 14 deaths? It's all about the bottom line, folks! The FAA needs to step up their game and reevaluate those maintenance inspection regulations ASAP. We can't afford to wait until another tragedy strikes. And what about the fact that UPS was not scheduled for an inspection of key engine mount parts despite being due for it? That's a red flag if I've ever seen one! It's time for some accountability and transparency in our aviation safety protocols.

"Life has no rewards save what it exacts from us for every sorrow, pain, or loss we endure."

It's heartbreaking to think about the 14 people who lost their lives in this tragic accident. The thought of a critical engine issue going unaddressed and ultimately causing such devastation is just devastating 🚨💔

Ugh this is just terrible 🤕 my heart goes out to all the families of the victims I feel so bad for the pilots who lost control of the plane at 30 feet in the air, that's just not safe. The FAA needs to do a thorough review of their maintenance inspection timeline ASAP. I mean, it's one thing to be near due date but not having a scheduled inspection is just not right 🚨. And those photos of the engine flying off are just...wow. It's amazing how quickly things can go wrong in an instant 😱. I hope UPS gets to the bottom of this and takes necessary steps to prevent something like this from happening again 💯

💔😱 this is so sad 🤕 14 people lost their lives 💀🙏 the thought of that engine flying off mid air 😲 is just horrific 😨 how could it have happened? 🤔 plane should have been checked before takeoff 📝 maintenance inspections need to be tighter ⚠️ FAA needs to take a closer look 👮‍♂️ at their regulations 📜 can't let lives be lost because of bureaucratic red tape 🤦‍♀️ UPS Airlines is doing the right thing by investigating and promising repairs 💯 but 14 people will never come back 🙏

omg this is soooo tragic 🤯 14 people lost their lives in an accident like that's just not right my heart goes out to all the families of the victims 😔 i dont think its right that the plane wasnt due for an inspection yet, thats a big red flag 🚨 im sure aviation safety expert Jeff Guzzetti is being super careful about this one, hopefully the FAA takes his concerns seriously and makes some changes 💡 maybe we should all just take a moment to appreciate how lucky we are to make it through our school days in one piece 😅
