Jeremy Corbyn and Zara Sultana's Your Party reveals shortlist for official name

Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana's party, 'Your Party', is set to unveil its new name ahead of its first conference in Liverpool this weekend. The left-wing outfit, formed by the former Labour leader and Labour MP, has faced a tumultuous run-up to the event, with internal power struggles and disagreements over funding.

The 50,000-strong membership will get to vote on one of four options: 'Your Party', 'Our Party', 'Popular Alliance', or 'For The Many'. The decision is set to be announced by Corbyn himself on Sunday. Despite being temporarily dubbed 'Your Party' when it launched over the summer, the organisation has been marred by months of infighting.

Corbyn and Sultana have had a particularly contentious relationship, with disagreements erupting over how the party was launched and how funds raised from members should be handled. Two independent MPs, Iqbal Mohamed and Adnan Hussain, have already quit due to persistent power struggles and factional rivalries.

The Liverpool conference is being hailed as an opportunity for Corbyn and Sultana to iron out their differences and put forward a united front. However, some party members have been at odds with Corbyn over his past membership of the Socialist Workers Party, which has led to several having their membership cancelled.

Corbyn believes that the party's new name reflects its commitment to democratic socialism and mass mobilisation. "I am very excited to get this party started and begin the work of building a majority for real political change," he stated ahead of the conference. Sultana is more cautious, describing the party as 'rooted in and democratically accountable to a mass movement'.

On the agenda for the conference is the party's organisational strategy, programme, and leadership structure – with questions surrounding whether Corbyn should adopt a single leadership role or opt for a collective model.

I'm low-key thinking that 'Your Party' is kinda being a bit too modest 😏. I mean, it's got Jeremy Corbyn at the helm, one of the most charismatic left-wing leaders out there. And with Zarah Sultana on board, they're already making waves. So, why not own the name and be bold about their democratic socialism ideology? 'Our Party' or 'Popular Alliance' just sound like weak tea to me 🍡. I'd vote for 'For The Many', it's catchy and reflects their party's values nicely. But honestly, who cares what they call themselves? It's all about the substance, not the name πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.

Umm... I think it's kinda weird that they're even having a name change thingy, you know? πŸ€” Like, what's wrong with 'Your Party'? It seems pretty straightforward to me... but on the other hand, maybe 'For The Many' sounds way more inspiring and stuff... πŸ™ƒ But at the same time, I don't think 'Popular Alliance' is a bad name either... unless it gives off this kinda "boring party" vibe? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ And what's with all these internal power struggles and disagreements over funding? It just seems like they're trying to be too perfect, you know? πŸ’β€β™‚οΈ Can't they just, like, agree on something already? πŸ˜’

I don't usually comment but I'm kinda intrigued by this new party formation thingy... 50k strong membership is crazy 🀯! It feels like the whole Labour party drama spilled out and created a new entity. Jeremy Corbyn's past with the Socialist Workers Party is definitely a thing people will be watching closely - some ppl might see it as baggage, but I guess he's trying to own it and use it as a strength? The name change from "Your Party" to one of the other options could go either way, maybe it'll refresh the image or cause more tension... what do u think tho? πŸ€”

I'm still not sure about this "For The Many" option... it sounds like a bit of rebranding to me πŸ€”. I mean, if they're already calling it "Your Party", why change the name now? It's like changing your car's license plate mid-road trip πŸš—πŸ˜‚. Corbyn and Sultana need to figure out what their party is really all about before we start jumping on the bandwagon 🎸.

It's also a bit weird that two MPs already quit because of power struggles... I guess that's just part of the growing pains, right? πŸ€• But seriously, can't they just put aside their differences and work together for once? The party members are the ones who elected them to lead this thing after all πŸ’β€β™€οΈ.

I'm curious to see what Corbyn has planned for this conference... is he gonna iron out those wrinkles with Sultana or is it gonna be a whole new mess 🀯. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens in Liverpool this weekend πŸŽ‰.

I'm curious about this "For The Many" option... sounds like it could be a good name change πŸ€”. But seriously, I think it's a bit suspicious that they're trying to iron out their differences now. What's taking them so long? 😐. Corbyn and Sultana's relationship has been pretty rocky from the start, and I'm not convinced that a new name will magically fix all their problems πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. Still, it'll be interesting to see how this whole thing plays out in Liverpool... fingers crossed for some real progress πŸ’‘.

OMG 🀯 what's going on w/ Jeremy Corbyn's new party? πŸ€” I mean, 'Our Party' sounds pretty solid tbh πŸ™Œ its not like it's a bad name but still... I'm low-key excited to see how this all plays out πŸŽ‰ especially w/ Zarah Sultana being more cautious about the whole thing πŸ˜’. I feel Corbyn is trying to be too bold w/ that 'For The Many' option tho πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ and what's up w/ those internal power struggles? 🀯 its like, can't they just get along? πŸ˜”

I'm not surprised they're changing the name πŸ€”πŸ‘€. It's been an drama-filled run-up to the conference and people are still reeling from all the power struggles πŸ’β€β™€οΈ. I think it's gonna be interesting to see which one wins out - 'Our Party' or 'Popular Alliance'. Corbyn seems super confident about the new name, but Sultana's tone is more measured. Either way, I'm hyped to see what they have in store for Liverpool this weekend πŸŽ‰πŸ‘

I'm worried about this whole rebranding thing... it feels like they're trying to change who they are at the core πŸ€”. I get that they want a fresh start, but all this drama and infighting is gonna hurt the party's rep in the long run πŸ˜•. Can't we just focus on what matters – getting stuff done for the people? 🌟 Corbyn's all about democratic socialism and mass mobilisation, so why can't they just stick with something that works? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ It's not rocket science, is it? πŸ’‘

So they're tryin' to give their party a new name now? Like, 'For The Many' sounds pretty cool, but I think it's gonna be interesting to see how it all plays out. Jeremy Corbyn's been through some stuff with his past politics, and Zarah Sultana's got her own ideas on how the party should run. It's like, they're both tryin' to make a difference, but they don't always agree on the best way to do it πŸ€”πŸ’‘. I mean, 50,000 strong membership is pretty cool, but with all these power struggles and factions... it's like, how are they gonna get anything done? πŸ˜‚

😐 I'm watching this whole thing unfold and it's like, you know when your mates start to fight over who gets to lead the group 🀯? It's like, can't they just get along? πŸ™„ Corbyn and Sultana have been at odds for ages, and now they're trying to iron out their differences on national TV πŸ“Ί. I mean, I think it's cool that the party members get a say in what the party is called - 'For The Many' sounds pretty sweet to me πŸ€—. But Corbyn seems like he's got his heart set on something else... πŸ‘€ Whatever they decide, I hope it doesn't come down to petty squabbles and power struggles πŸ’”. Can we just focus on making a difference for the people? 🀝

🀯 I'm so done with Labour's internal drama. Can't they just get along? 😩 It's like they're trying to make the party look like a mess on purpose. 50,000 members voting on what to call their party is gonna be a nightmare πŸ™„. And to think Corbyn thinks he's got it all figured out with his "democratic socialism" thing πŸ€”. Meanwhile Sultana's over here being all cautious and stuff πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. Just pick a name already! πŸ’ͺ The fact that two MPs have already quit due to power struggles is just ridiculous 🚫. Can't they see how embarrassing this is gonna look for the party? 😳

🀯 I mean, what's the point of even having a new name if it's just going to be some watered-down version of Labour anyway? πŸ™„ Like, who needs 'For The Many' when you can just stick with 'The Party'? It's not like they're gonna make a difference or anything. And what's up with Corbyn and Sultana's constant bickering? Can't they just get along for once? πŸ˜’ I'm all for some good old-fashioned Labour values, but this infighting is getting out of hand. 🚫

πŸ€” I'm watching this whole thing unfold like it's a parliamentary election campaign πŸ—³οΈ! It's all about who's got the vision, who's got the unity, and who's gonna win over those 50k members πŸ’ͺ. Corbyn and Sultana are like two different camps in a political party - can they put aside their differences for the sake of the party? 🀝 The question on everyone's mind is what does 'For The Many' really mean? Is it just a fancy name or a genuine shift in ideology? πŸ€” I'm hoping it's the latter. What do you guys think? Should Corbyn adopt that collective leadership model, or is it time for a strong leader to take charge? πŸ’Ό

😐 seems like 'Your Party' has been a hot mess since day one. Internal power struggles & disagreements over funding have been super frustrating for members who just wanna see some real change. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ I mean, Jeremy Corbyn's got a lot of explaining to do about his past ties with the Socialist Workers Party... how can we trust him on democratic socialism? πŸ€”

πŸ€” party names are so overrated... either it's yours or it's not πŸ™ƒ why make it hard? just call it what it is: a bunch of ppl trying to change the system πŸ”„ and honestly, i'm more concerned about how much money they're raising from members πŸ’Έ than what they call themselves πŸ‘€

I'm intrigued by Jeremy Corbyn's stance on the new name 'For The Many', which seems to resonate with his democratic socialist ideology πŸ€”. However, it's concerning that internal power struggles and disagreements over funding have plagued the party since its inception. It raises questions about whether Corbyn and Sultana can put aside their differences and present a united front at the Liverpool conference πŸ“ˆ.

The fact that two independent MPs have already quit due to factional rivalries is a red flag, indicating that the party's organisational strategy and leadership structure need to be re-evaluated. I'm curious to see how Corbyn plans to address these issues and what the outcome of the membership vote will be 🀞. Will 'For The Many' truly become the party's new identity, or will it simply be a temporary label? Only time will tell πŸ”.

So I'm thinking, Jeremy Corbyn's been through some tough times with his old party, Labour, but this new 'Your Party' thing is like... he wants to reboot, you know? πŸ”„ Get away from the past and start fresh. But it's hard to shake off the baggage, if you know what I mean.

I'm curious about the membership voting on the new name - 'Popular Alliance'? That one sounds pretty neutral, but will it alienate some of Corbyn's more radical supporters? Or is that just a risk worth taking? πŸ’ The conference in Liverpool could be a make-or-break moment for the party. Can they put their differences aside and unite behind a single vision?

It's funny how some party members are still holding grudges over Corbyn's past... can't we all just get along? πŸ€ͺ And what about Zarah Sultana - does she have enough sway to bring Corbyn back on track, or is she too caught up in her own factional battles? The Liverpool conference might be the perfect opportunity for some soul-searching and realignment. Fingers crossed it works out! 🀞

idk how this is gonna play out... they've had so much drama going on its hard to see them coming together like that. Corbyn and Sultana's relationship has been super rocky, and now the whole party's gotta come together to figure out who they are and what they want. I'm a bit skeptical about the name change too - 'For The Many' sounds pretty bland to me... maybe it's an attempt to appeal to the centre? but at the same time, its not like they can just ignore all the internal issues they've had. 50k members have spoken, so we'll see how that plays out πŸ€”
