Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey listed probable for Sixers-Pacers on Friday

The Philadelphia 76ers' injury report for Friday's matchup against the Indiana Pacers has been released, and both Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey are listed as probable. Embiid, who has been recovering from a left knee injury, is expected to take the court despite expressing concerns about managing his workload with two games in three days. The former NBA MVP has indicated that he's on track for a breakthrough in his rehabilitation plan after the 76ers' loss to the Los Angeles Lakers earlier in the week.

Maxey, who leads the league in total minutes and minutes per game, is the only Sixer to have appeared in every contest this season. However, both Embiid and Maxey have been on the injury report twice before without missing any games. The status of Kelly Oubre Jr. and Trendon Watford, meanwhile, remains uncertain as they continue to rehab their injuries.

Oubre's left knee sprain has a second re-evaluation date set for Thursday, while Watford's left adductor strain is due to be reassessed on Wednesday. Despite the uncertainty surrounding both players, coach Nick Nurse indicated that neither can participate in live, on-court action at this time.

The 76ers' schedule over the next few days will be crucial in determining whether Embiid can manage his workload effectively. With two games in three days following Friday's matchup against the Pacers, it remains to be seen whether the former MVP can take on that increased workload without putting himself or others at risk of injury.

🤔 I think Joel Embiid is being a bit optimistic about rushing back into the game so soon 🏀. Two games in three days is a lot to handle, especially considering he's only just starting to get back on track after that left knee injury 💪. The 76ers need him at full strength, but they also can't afford to have him get hurt again 🤕. I'm keeping an eye on his progress, and hopefully he'll be able to manage his workload without any setbacks 👀.

🤔 I'm not sure if Joel Embiid is being too optimistic about getting back into action so soon... with two games in three days, he's gotta be careful not to overdo it! 😬 Tyrese Maxey is doing well, but we need to make sure those other guys, like Oubre and Watford, are good to go before they step back onto the court. Coach Nurse needs to keep a close eye on the workload and make sure everyone's healthy 🏥

omg i'm so nervous about joel embiid playing on friday lol he's been looking so good in practice but two games in three days is a lot for his knee 🤞 fingers crossed he can make it through the next couple of games without any issues... and poor maxey, dude's been running himself ragged all season 🏃‍♂️ i feel for him that he can't even take a break anymore. and kelly ouibre jr & trendon watford are still hurt? ugh my anxiety is spiking just thinking about it 😩 hopefully they can get back soon, coach nick nurse needs to figure out how to manage the team's workload or we might see some more injuries 🤦‍♂️
