I'm not surprised at all that the adoption surge has a darker side... those poor critters are gonna need some serious therapy after what they went through . It's heartbreaking to think about the long-term effects of trauma on their behavior and well-being . And it's only gonna get worse, just like the wildfires themselves . We should be prepared for a whole new wave of problems when the dust settles... I mean, when the adopters realize they've got their hands full with these traumatized pups . On the bright side, Pasadena Humane is doing an amazing job trying to help, so let's give 'em some props !
I'm still getting chills thinking about those wildfires last year... it's crazy how the trauma lingers on, even after all this time. I know people who lost pets during that chaos, and it's devastating to see them struggling with anxiety and stress even a year later. Those adoptions might seem like a good thing, but like Chris Ramon said, those animals are really hurting. We gotta keep supporting organizations like Pasadena Humane, 'cause they're doing the real work here.

It's crazy how many pets got rescued but also how traumatized they are. Burn injuries, anxiety, stress - it's like, what do you even do? The orgs doing this work are doing an amazing job, but I feel for the animals who are still dealing with this stuff. It's like, we thought we were helping by adopting new pets, but we gotta think about how to fix the trauma they're carrying...
