Live: Zelensky to meet European leaders in London after Trump criticism

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to meet European leaders in London today, amid tensions with the US over a proposed peace plan to end the war with Russia. The talks come after a week of inconclusive negotiations between Ukrainian and US officials in Miami.

Following Trump's criticism that Zelensky had not read the US proposal, the Ukrainian president will be briefed on his team's dialogue with US officials and receive all documents related to the peace plan by Monday, according to Kyiv's senior negotiator Rustem Umerov. The primary task of Ukraine's negotiating team was to gather full information on US conversations in Moscow and drafts of current proposals.

Meanwhile, at least seven people have been injured in a Russian drone strike on an apartment block in northeastern Ukrainian city of Okhtyrka in the Sumy region. The Sumy region has faced near-daily shelling and drone attacks since Moscow's invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022.

Zelensky is due to meet with European leaders, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron, to discuss the negotiations and find a peaceful resolution to the conflict. The UK and US have reaffirmed their commitment to reaching a peace deal in Ukraine, as British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper meets her American counterpart Marco Rubio in Washington on Monday.

As tensions escalate, Zelensky is seeking to build support among European allies for his country's position. With days of talks between Ukrainian and US officials ending without a breakthrough, the Ukrainian president must navigate delicate negotiations with Russia while maintaining public pressure from Trump.

omg u think trumps beef w/ zelensky is gonna hurt him in london lol no way that guy's got more guts than most presidents πŸ˜‚ anyway its crazy how things are escalating between russia & usa what a mess 🀯 and these europeans gotta deal w/ the fallout meanwhile okhtyrka's been hit again πŸ’” at least 7 people injured who knows what'll happen next? can we pls just get some peace around here πŸ™

πŸ€” So like when dealing with super complex problems like this war thingy... I draw a big messy diagram πŸ“

it looks like everyone is talking to each other but nothing's happening πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ Zelensky has to navigate all these different groups and keep his country safe. And with Russia being all unpredictable...

I think what Ukraine needs right now is a big map πŸ—ΊοΈ showing where all the attacks are coming from and where the safe zones are πŸ›‘οΈ That way they can figure out a strategy that works for everyone.

Oh, and can we please just add some coffee cups β˜•οΈ to this diagram? Like, if Zelensky needs a caffeine boost, he should totally take it from Europe 😴

πŸ€” This whole situation is super complex. I think Zelensky's meeting with European leaders in London is a good idea, but he needs to be careful about not appearing too desperate for support. The fact that the US and UK are trying to reach a peace deal without Ukraine's full input raises some concerns - it feels like they're trying to find a middle ground without really considering Ukraine's perspective.

I'm also worried about the situation in Okhtyrka. Drone attacks have been happening there almost daily since Russia invaded, and people are suffering. It's not just about politics; it's about human lives. The US and UK need to make sure that any peace plan they propose includes protection for civilians like those in Okhtyrka.

It's also interesting that Trump is trying to influence the negotiations with Ukraine. As a former president, he still has some pull, but it's not fair to pressure Zelensky into accepting a deal without even reading the US proposal. Transparency is key in these negotiations, and both sides need to be honest about their positions.

Overall, I think we're at a critical juncture in this conflict. If both sides can find common ground and prioritize human lives, maybe they can find a way forward that works for everyone. πŸ•ŠοΈ

πŸ€” I'm totally freaking out about this situation in Ukraine πŸ€• Zelensky is gonna be meeting with European leaders today, but the thing that's got me worried is that tensions are escalating and it feels like nobody's getting any closer to a peace plan 😩 Russia's been bombing apartments in Okhtyrka and innocent people are getting hurt πŸ™ It's not just about Ukraine anymore, it's about all of Europe being affected by this conflict 🌎

I feel like Trump is playing a huge role in all of this, criticizing Zelensky and making things worse πŸ’” Meanwhile, the Ukrainian president is trying to gather information on US conversations with Russia and build support among European allies πŸ‘₯ It's a tough spot for him, but I think he needs to stay calm and keep pushing for peace πŸ™

I'm so tired of hearing about drones and shelling and all these innocent people losing their homes 😩 Can't we just have world leaders work together to find a peaceful resolution? πŸ’–

um so like what's going on in ukraine rn πŸ€” it seems super tense over there i mean those russia drone strikes on an apartment block is just awful can you even imagine living that kinda fear all the time? anyway back to zelensky meeting with european leaders lol is he gonna get some decent support from them or is it all gonna fall apart πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ ukrainians are already dealing with so much stress and drama i wish there was a way for him to just have a chill meeting without trump throwing shade at him all the time πŸ˜’

πŸ€” so like the tension between Ukraine and the US is getting more intense and they're having these back and forth talks... I think it's kinda weird that Trump is criticizing Zelensky for not reading his proposal, but at the same time, Ukraine needs to make sure they have all the info on what the US is proposing. Like, how can you negotiate if you don't even know what you're negotiating about? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

and it's crazy that there's a Russian drone strike in another Ukrainian city... like, can't we all just get along? 😩 the Sumy region has been dealing with this stuff for years now and it's just getting worse. I hope Zelensky's talks with European leaders will bring some kinda resolution to this conflict, but at the same time, I'm also worried about public pressure from Trump... it's like, who gets to decide what happens in Ukraine? 🀝

man, this situation is getting soooo complicated 🀯. i feel bad for zelensky, he's gotta deal with trump's trash talk on top of trying to keep his country safe. and meanwhile, these innocent people are getting hurt in okhtyrka πŸ’”. it's just not right that they have to live like this every day.

you know what really got me thinking is how the world has changed since all this started. i mean, back in 2014 when ukraine first joined eu, we thought it was a good idea πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. but now? now it's just so... messy. and what's with all these drone strikes? like, can't they just talk things out or something? 🚫

anyway, i think zelensky is doing his best, but the pressure is on him to deliver. and european leaders gotta get on board too if they wanna make a difference πŸ’ͺ. fingers crossed it all works out without any more bloodshed πŸ˜“

I'm watching this unfold like a complex web, you know? Zelensky's gotta walk that tightrope, trying to keep his team on track while dealing with all these outside forces pulling in different directions πŸ’. And what's the real cost of peace here? Like, is it just about finding a diplomatic solution or is there more to it than that? πŸ€”

I mean, think about it – we're talking about lives lost, families torn apart... what does "peace" even mean in this context? Is it about Ukraine getting its sovereignty back, or is it about the global community coming together to stop Russia's aggression? It feels like we're just scratching the surface of a much deeper issue 🌊.

πŸ€” So like I'm reading this news about Ukraine and it's all super intense 🚨. The thing is, the US and Russia are trying to hammer out some kind of peace plan for Ukraine but it's like, really complicated πŸ’₯. There's this guy Trump who keeps stirring up trouble by saying Zelensky didn't even read the proposal πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ, which isn't helping at all.

Meanwhile in Ukraine, they're dealing with these random Russian drone strikes that are like, super scary 😨. People have been injured and it's just, you know, not cool πŸ’”. And now Zelensky is trying to convince European leaders to back him out because he needs some support from his allies 🀝. It's like, the more things change, the more they stay the same 🌎.

I'm thinking that maybe Ukraine should try to just have a straight conversation with Russia instead of going through all these middlemen πŸ“ž. I don't know, it feels like they're getting bogged down in all this back-and-forth 🀯. But at the same time, if Zelensky can find a way to get some support from Europe, that could be key πŸ”‘. It's just so... complicated πŸ’€.

I'm worried about Ukraine πŸ€•πŸ’”, it feels like they're getting caught in the middle of so many strong interests πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. European leaders meeting up to discuss peace plans is a good start πŸ’‘, but the US and Russia are playing hardball πŸ€Ίβ€β™‚οΈ. I hope Zelensky can get some real progress out of these talks πŸ“, or it's going to be tough for Ukraine to make ends meet πŸ’Έ. And what's up with all these drone strikes in Okhtyrka? 😱 That's just heartbreaking 😒. We need more peace and less hate πŸ”₯πŸ’”.

I'm still not convinced about these peace plans πŸ€”. I mean, how can you just "negotiate" your way out of war? It's all so simplistic. And what about all the innocent people caught in the middle? Have we really thought this through? πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ The US is already being criticized for not reading the proposal to Zelensky - that's a recipe for disaster! 😬 We need concrete solutions, not just empty promises and PR spin. And what about the long-term effects of all these drone strikes on civilian areas like Okhtyrka? It's all so reckless and irresponsible 🚨. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how this plays out, but my gut tells me we're in for a long and bloody ride πŸ˜“.

This whole situation is getting super complicated 🀯. I mean, on one hand, you got the EU leaders meeting up with Zelensky to try and hammer out a peace plan, but then you got this tension between Ukraine and the US over what Trump said about not reading the proposal... like, what's going on?! 😩 It's all so back-and-forth. The thing is, Russia's already been shelling and drone-bombing parts of Ukraine for ages, so it feels like they're just trying to wear them down at this point πŸ€•. But at the same time, you got these European leaders trying to broker a deal... it's all so delicate. I mean, Zelensky needs to keep his team on top of what's happening in Moscow and draft-wise, but then he also has to balance that with keeping Trump happy while trying to navigate public pressure from the US side. It's like, can't they just talk it out already?! πŸ™„

Ugh, can you believe what's going on with Ukraine? It's like something straight outta Game of Thrones πŸ’₯πŸ’”. I mean, can't they just get along? The US and Europe are trying to help, but it's hard when Russia is being super aggressive. 🀯 I feel bad for the people in Okhtyrka, that drone strike was so senseless πŸ’€.

And can we talk about Trump for a second? πŸ™„ He's always stirring up drama, like he's trying to be the real star of this whole Ukraine thing 🎬. But seriously, it's not fair to Zelensky and his team. They're trying to negotiate peace, but Trump is being all obstructionist. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

I'm just worried about how this is going to play out. Will they ever find a peaceful resolution? 🀞 I hope so, for Ukraine's sake πŸ’•. We need more leaders like Zelensky who are willing to put in the work and listen to other people's perspectives πŸ‘₯.

Anyway, I guess we'll just have to keep an eye on this situation and see what happens next πŸ•°οΈ. Fingers crossed for peace! πŸ™

man this conflict in ukraine is getting so out of hand 🀯 like what's the point of all these drones and shelling? can't they just talk it out? πŸ’” zelensky's gotta be having such a stressful week trying to navigate all these conversations with europeans, americans, and russians... poor guy 😩. btw i'm thinking of doing some yoga and meditation tonight to calm my nerves πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈπŸ™. how about you guys? any self-care rituals to share? πŸ€—

omg, this situation in Ukraine is getting soooo complicated 🀯. I mean, both sides are trying to build support, but at the same time, tensions are running high and it's like everyone's walking on eggshells 😬. Zelensky's gotta be super careful navigating all these talks with European leaders, US officials, and Russia...it's a lot of plates to juggle 🍽️.

I feel bad for Ukraine though - they're just trying to survive this conflict, and it's like the world is watching and waiting for something to happen 🌎. The fact that there were people injured in that drone strike in Okhtyrka...it's just heartbreaking ❀️. Can't we all just try to find a peaceful solution here? 🀞
