Houston-Area Children to Receive a Magical Holiday Surprise Thanks to Disney's Toy Drive
The holiday season is upon us, and for children in the Houston area, it's shaping up to be one of the most magical years yet. ABC13 and Disney are teaming up to make a difference in the lives of these youngsters by supporting the Disney Ultimate Toy Drive.
This annual initiative is an enduring partnership between Walt Disney and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve's Toys for Tots program, which has been making a significant impact since 1947. That year, Walt Disney personally designed the original Toys for Tots train logo that is still used today. Since then, the Disney company has donated millions of toys to families across the United States.
This year's drive offers two easy ways to give: donate online at DisneyStore.com/ToyDrive through December 24th or drop off a new, unwrapped toy in person at a designated location now through December 14th. For Houston residents, there are several convenient locations to choose from, including the Disney Store inside the Houston Premium Outlets.
The Walt Disney Company is also stepping up its support for Toys for Tots in Houston, with a generous donation of 5,000 toys scheduled to arrive at local drop-off points.
As one Disney store manager shared in a recent video, "Disney has been making an impact with Marines' Toys for Tots for more than 75 years. We're proud to continue this tradition and bring joy to children across the country."
