Meta’s layoffs leave Supernatural fitness users in mourning

Meta's Laid-Off Staff Leave Supernatural Fitness Users in Shambles

In a devastating blow to the fitness community, Meta has laid off more than 1,000 employees across its virtual reality (VR) and metaverse efforts. The company's decision to shut down Supernatural, a popular VR workout platform, has left users feeling heartbroken and uncertain about their future with the service.

Tencia Benavidez, a long-time Supernatural user, expressed her disappointment and frustration with Meta's decision. "They fought so hard for this thing, and now they're just shutting it down? What was the point?" she said.

Benavidez had been using Supernatural since the pandemic began, drawn in by its immersive VR workouts and supportive community of coaches. The service offered a unique opportunity to work out from the comfort of her own home, especially living in a rural area with limited access to gyms. "Supernatural is amazing," she said, "but I'm canceling it because of this."

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Supernatural's future, many users remain committed to the platform and its community. Stefanie Wong, an accountant from California, has been using Supernatural since the pandemic and plans to stick with it until the end. "It's not the app," she said. "It's the community, and it's the coaches that we really care about."

The layoffs have also sparked concerns about the future of music licensing for Supernatural users. The platform relies on licensed tracks from popular artists, but the company's decision to shut down has left many wondering how this will be handled in the future.

As Meta continues to navigate its metaverse efforts, it remains to be seen what changes are in store for Supernatural and its community of users. For now, fans of the platform can only hold on to memories of their favorite workouts and say goodbye to a service that has brought them joy and motivation during a difficult time.

omg u guys I'm tellin u this is NOT just about Meta layin off some people 🤯 it's like they're tryna cancel out the whole Supernatural vibe lol. think about it, they got so many ppl hooked on that VR workout thing and now BAM! they're just shuttin it down 😳. what's next? gonna cancel out all our fave fitness apps too?! I'm lowkey worried about the future of music licensing tho 🎵🤑 like who's gonna keep makin those sick beats for Supernatural users?! it's like Meta is tryin to pull a fast one on us 🤥

Come on, folks! 1k layoffs? That's a big deal 🤯. I'm not surprised Meta is struggling with Supernatural, though. I mean, VR fitness isn't exactly the most profitable business model 😅. And honestly, it's been a bit of a gimmick since the pandemic. People can just work out at home or in their local gyms now that things have normalized.

And let's be real, Tencia Benavidez was being a bit dramatic about it 🙄. I mean, yes, Supernatural was awesome and all, but Meta wasn't investing enough into it to make it sustainable. And those coaches? Maybe they should've seen the writing on the wall 📝.

It's not like Supernatural was the only game in town anymore. There are tons of other fitness apps out there that can do what they did for half the price 💸. So, yeah, maybe this is an opportunity for Meta to pivot and focus on something more profitable 🔥.

I'm so sad to hear about Supernatural getting shut down 🤕💔 Meta's decision is like, what even was the point? I've seen videos of people going through it while exercising, they were all having so much fun 🏋️‍♀️😄 but now it's just gone... I'm definitely gonna miss that. The community aspect was always what made it special 💕 and I feel bad for everyone who got attached to it 🤗. Can you imagine not being able to use it anymore? It's like losing a friend, you know? 😢

ugh this is so sad 🤕 meta should've found a way to make supernatural work out (no pun intended) instead of just shutting it down 😔 i feel bad for tencia and stefanie who are going through this 🙏 but at the same time, i'm not surprised - companies can be super ruthless when it comes to resources 💸 anyway, i hope meta finds a way to bring back some of the good vibes they lost 💖 maybe it's time for them to get creative with new ways to engage users and monetize supernatural 🤔

I feel like Meta just got burned out from all the virtual reality vibes 😂. I mean, 1,000 employees laid off? That's some next-level drama! And Supernatural is like the poor kid who got kicked out of school 🤪... but hey, at least users can still have their virtual fitness sessions and hold on to those memories 💖. The music licensing thing is a bummer tho 🎵, but I guess artists are all about that dough life 💸 anyway 🤑

I don’t usually comment but… I feel bad for those Supernatural users 😔 they had a great thing going with Meta's VR workout platform and now it's just getting axed 💥 like, what even is the point of having a sick VR fitness service if you're just gonna shut it down? 🤷‍♀️ And the music licensing thing... that's just another nail in the coffin 🎶. I don't know how Meta expected their users to just take this lying down 🙅‍♂️, but I guess when you invest your time and money into something like that, it can be hard to let go 💔
