Orphans review – oddball hostage power play is a peculiar gem

I'm so hyped about Lyle Kessler's 'Orphans'!!! 🤩 I mean, the way Harold manipulates Phillip and Treat is just masterful, you know? It's like he's pulling strings from behind the scenes and making everyone dance to his tune. And Forbes Masson as Harold is pure perfection - he brings this level of depth and complexity to the character that makes him both terrifying and heartbreaking at the same time.

And can we talk about how Al Miller directs this play?! It's like he's crafting this atmosphere of tension and claustrophobia that just draws you in. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, wondering what would happen next with these eccentric brothers.

I love how the performances from the cast are so outstanding too! Each actor brings their own unique energy to their character and it makes for a really compelling watch. Even though there are some flaws to the play, 'Orphans' is just an incredible theatrical experience that will leave you feeling all the emotions.

I gotta say, this Lyle Kessler's 'Orphans' is CRAZY intense 🤯! Harold's character is so complex, you feel bad for him, but at the same time, you know he's a total manipulator 😒. The way the director, Al Miller, builds that tension and claustrophobia... ugh, it gives me the chills! 🌫️

I love how the cast brings these characters to life, makes you really feel for Phillip and Treat's struggles 🤝. And Harold's backstory? Omg, it's like a masterclass in psychological manipulation 😲. It's no wonder this play is becoming a revival favorite - it's like you can't look away from the trainwreck... or in this case, the twisted family dynamics 🚂!

For me, though, the thing that really resonates is how much 'Orphans' explores the emotional nuances of these characters. It's not just about Harold's manipulative tactics; it's about what drives him to do what he does 🤔. And that's where I think the play truly shines - in its ability to make you feel all the feels 😊.

🤗 I gotta say, this play 'Orphans' is super intense, right? The way Harold manipulates Phillip and Treat is so mind-blowing 🤯. It's like, you can't look away from the drama unfolding on stage. And the cast's performances are top-notch 🎭. I loved how the director created this tense atmosphere that had me on edge 😬. What I find really interesting is how Harold's past traumas shape his behavior - it adds such depth to the story 💡. Of course, there might be some flaws with the play, but overall, 'Orphans' is a wild ride you won't want to miss 🎢!

I'm loving the psychological thriller vibes of this play 🕷️! The way Harold manipulates his "sons" is seriously mind-blowing, and I love how complex it gets - you never know what's gonna happen next 💥. And can we talk about the cast? They totally bring these characters to life, making them feel so real and relatable 🤯. The tension on stage is palpable, even when I'm sitting in my living room watching a recording 😱. What I do wish they'd explored more was what really drove Harold's behavior - that whole backstory he has seems super important to understanding him... but maybe that's just me being curious 😊.

🤯 I'm low-key obsessed with this new play 'Orphans'!!! 🎭 The way the director weaves a complex web of family dynamics is like, whoa! 😲 Harold's character is literally insane 💀 and Chris Walley as Treat is giving me all the feels 😩. Fred Woodley Evans as Phillip is also on point 👍. Al Miller's direction is pure magic ✨ I mean, it's not perfect but that's what makes it so captivating 🔥. The cast is fire 🔥! I'm sold, need to get my tickets ASAP 🎟️
