Pace to buy 36 hybrid buses with federal grant

Suburban bus service Pace is set to expand its hybrid fleet with a major boost from the federal government. The company has been awarded a $39 million grant under the Federal Transit Administration's Low-or-No Emissions program, which it plans to use to purchase 36 new buses for its West Division in Melrose Park.

This latest funding announcement comes just days after the Chicago Transit Authority announced plans to buy up to 150 hybrid buses, also courtesy of the same federal program. Pace had already received a $30.9 million grant last year to buy 33 hybrid buses, with the first new additions arriving just last month.

The government backing is welcome news for Pace, which aims to phase out its aging diesel-only fleet by 2040 in favor of more environmentally friendly options. The latest grant will help accelerate this process and contribute to a cleaner transportation system for Chicago's residents.

๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿ’š I'm super stoked about the new funding announcement! It's like, the ultimate win-win situation - Pace gets to upgrade its fleet with some awesome eco-friendly buses, and we get to enjoy cleaner air in our city ๐ŸŒณ. I mean, who doesn't love the idea of a more sustainable future? ๐Ÿคฉ The fact that the government is backing this initiative is a huge thumbs up! It's like the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) has taken a page out of the playbook from Marvel - we've got Iron Man of transportation ๐Ÿš€. Pace and CTA are really making strides in reducing their carbon footprint, and I'm all about it ๐Ÿ’–. Now, let's just hope these new buses bring a smile to everyone's face like the new Avengers movie brought us all together ๐Ÿ˜Š!

I'm all about seeing those buses roll into the 'burbs! ๐ŸšŒ It's awesome that Pace is getting some serious funding to upgrade their fleet. I've been on those old diesel buses in Melrose Park, let me tell you, they're not exactly the most comfortable ride ๐Ÿ˜ด. But with this new grant, we can expect a smoother and cleaner commute for everyone.

I love how the government is backing this initiative โ€“ it's all about investing in our community's future ๐ŸŒŸ. Pace has already made some great strides last year, adding 33 hybrid buses to their fleet, so it'll be exciting to see those new 36 buses hit the road soon! ๐Ÿ’จ This move will definitely help reduce air pollution and create a healthier environment for everyone living in and around Chicago.

It's also worth noting that this is just the beginning โ€“ with plans to phase out diesel-only fleets by 2040, we can expect to see even more eco-friendly options on the roads. Bring it on! ๐Ÿš€

I donโ€™t usually comment but I gotta say, itโ€™s about time the government is backing our public transport systems. I mean, we can't keep running on fossil fuels if we wanna save the planet, right? ๐ŸŒŽ The fact that Pace got a major boost from the feds is pretty exciting โ€“ 36 new buses for their West Division in Melrose Park is gonna make a big difference. And with all these grants coming out, I'm hoping more companies like Pace will start taking advantage of 'em. It's not just about reducing emissions tho, it's also about creating jobs and stimulating growth in our communities. So letโ€™s hope this momentum keeps building and we start seeing some real change soon! ๐Ÿ’š

Wow ๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿ’š This is awesome! Pace expanding its hybrid fleet is just what we need in Chicago. I mean, have you seen the traffic on the 290 lately? It's crazy ๐Ÿคฏ. With more eco-friendly buses, maybe our air quality will get better too... that would be a win for everyone. 36 new buses is a big deal, btw. Hope they choose the best ones so we don't end up with any fancy-schmancy buses just collecting dust on the side of the road ๐Ÿ˜‚. The government backing is what we need to make this happen - keep it up! ๐Ÿ’ช

Yaaas ๐Ÿš€ Pace is one step closer to making our roads cleaner! ๐ŸŒฟ I mean, who doesn't love the idea of having new hybrid buses hitting the streets? It's about time we start taking care of our planet, you know? And kudos to the government for supporting this eco-friendly move. The fact that they're committing $39 million to Pace is no joke! That's some serious funding ๐Ÿ’ธ. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it'll make a real difference. Chicago deserves better than aging diesel buses ๐Ÿšฎ. Bring on those 36 new hybrid buses and let's get this green wave rolling! ๐ŸŒˆ

just great to see some real change happening in chicago ๐Ÿš‚๐ŸŒฟ pace is stepping up their game and i'm all for it! 36 new hybrid buses is a big deal, especially with the cta already making moves too ๐Ÿค plus, $39 million from the feds is a nice chunk of change - can't wait to see those buses rolling out on the west division route. gotta say, 2040 seems like a pretty aggressive timeline for phasing out diesel-only fleets - hope it all comes together smoothly ๐Ÿ˜Š

Ugh, I'm not buying it ๐Ÿค‘...I mean, how convenient that they're expanding their hybrid fleet just days after the CTA announced plans to do the same thing? It sounds like there's some kind of coordination going on here, and I bet the government is just trying to sweep the environmental impact under the rug by saying "we're doing this for the greater good"... meanwhile, they'll just keep raking in those sweet federal grant dollars ๐Ÿ’ธ. And what about all the other bus companies in Chicago that aren't getting any of these grants? It's just another example of how the government loves to play favorites ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. Anyway, I guess it's a good thing for Pace and the environment...but let's not get too excited ๐Ÿ˜’.

oh my gosh ๐Ÿคฉ i'm so stoked to see the federal government supporting Pace with another huge grant! $39 million is like, whoa ๐Ÿ’ธ it's going straight towards 36 brand new hybrid buses for Melrose Park's West Division - that's amazing news for the environment ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’š can't wait to see those new buses rolling out and helping pace reach its goal of phasing out diesel buses by 2040 ๐ŸŽ‰

omg i just love buses ๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿš like how cool is it that they're getting new hybrid ones? i'm kinda worried about the environment tho, my parents are always talking about climate change and stuff... do you think we'll ever live in a world without pollution? ๐Ÿค” anyway, this is awesome news for pace and chicago ๐Ÿ™Œ i wonder what kind of buses they'll be getting, will they have solar panels or something like that? ๐Ÿ’ก

Just saw that Pace is getting another $39 million to buy 36 new hybrid buses ๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿ’š, I'm all about that sustainability vibe! It's crazy how the government is investing so much in our public transport ๐Ÿคฉ. We should've had this sooner, but I guess it's better late than never ๐Ÿ˜Š. 36 new buses might not seem like a lot compared to 150 from the CTA, but every little counts, right? Plus, it's all about setting an example for other companies to follow ๐ŸŒŸ. Pace is definitely on the right track (pun intended) ๐Ÿ‘. Can't wait to see the impact this will have on reducing those emissions ๐Ÿ’จ!

Just imagine the bus drivers at Pace all like "Oh boy, another hybrid to add to our collection, I'm so excited!" ๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿ˜‚ Just kidding, I know they're just trying to get from one end of Melrose Park to the other without too many traffic jams.

But seriously, a $39 million grant is like, a whole lotta cash for a bunch of buses! And with 36 new ones on the way, it's gonna be like a green energy rush over in West Division. I'm not saying Pace will finally get rid of their old diesel buses, but it's a step in the right direction... or should I say, the left side of the road? ๐ŸŒฟ

omg $39 mil is like whoa what a huge boost for pace cant wait to see those new hybrid buses hitting the road so we can all breathe easier ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸšŒ hope it inspires more cities to go green too

I'm so stoked to hear that Pace is getting a huge boost from the federal gov't ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ’š. It's been way too long since they've had any new buses, and 36 is a great number - it's not like they're gonna be swamped with all these new ones or anything! ๐Ÿ˜‚ But seriously, this is amazing news for the environment. I mean, who doesn't want cleaner air and less pollution, right? ๐ŸŒฟ It's awesome that Pace is leading the charge on hybrid buses - we should all be supporting them! ๐Ÿ‘

Ugh, I mean... seriously though, $39 million is a lot of cash! ๐Ÿค‘ They should totally make the most of it and get those hybrid buses ASAP. 36 new buses isn't bad, but I'm pretty sure they could've gotten even more if they asked for more funds. And to think, it's not just Pace getting in on this action - CTA is also getting in on the game with up to 150 buses! ๐Ÿš‚ That's some serious commitment to sustainability.

I'm glad the government is backing this initiative, though. It's about time we start thinking about the environment a bit more when it comes to transportation. We can't keep relying on old diesel buses forever... although, I guess that's exactly what they're trying to phase out by 2040 ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ. Still, let's hope Pace and CTA can make good use of this funding and get those hybrid buses rolling ASAP! โณ

"Money can't buy you happiness but it can buy you a lot of hybrid buses ๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿ’ธ." Seriously though, I think this is awesome! It's about time our government stepped up to support companies like Pace in making a positive impact on the environment. The fact that they're investing in cleaner transportation options will definitely make a difference for Chicago's residents. With 36 new hybrid buses on the way, I'm hoping we'll see less pollution and more people enjoying a healthier commute. This is exactly what we need โ€“ innovation and sustainability! ๐Ÿ˜Š

man i feel bad for pace they've been tryin hard to go green but it's tough with all the costs ๐Ÿค‘ like, yay for that $39 million grant tho! can't wait to see those 36 new buses on the road hopefully they'll be more efficient than the old ones ๐Ÿ’จ i guess the cta's plans are cool too, 150 hybrid buses? that's a lot ๐Ÿš€ but pace is really takin it to the next level, phasing out diesel by 2040 is ambitious ๐ŸŒŸ and it's not just about the environment, it's about people's health too, all this pollution is no joke ๐Ÿ˜ท anyway, let's keep supporting these companies as they try to make chicago a cleaner city ๐Ÿ’š

I'm so tired of the gov't handing out all these grants to companies that are just gonna buy fancy new buses. It's like they're trying to make public transport look cool or something ๐Ÿ™„. And 36 new buses out of nowhere? That's a whole lotta money, fam ๐Ÿ’ธ. What's wrong with their current fleet that they need so many more? Don't get me wrong, hybrid buses are great and all, but can we just slow down for a sec and think about the waste? ๐Ÿค”

just got word that pace is getting another huge boost from the gov ๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿš— - $39 million is a lot of cash to invest in hybrid buses! its awesome that they're taking steps to upgrade their fleet and go green, especially with chicago being a big city and all ๐ŸŒ†. 36 new buses will definitely make a difference, especially for west division in melrose park ๐Ÿ“. cant wait to see these new eco-friendly buses rolling around the suburbs ๐Ÿ’š

omg ๐Ÿš€ can't wait to see these new buses rolling out! $39 million is a huge boost for Pace, and it's awesome that the gov's supporting their eco-friendly goals ๐Ÿ’š. I mean, it's not like we haven't been hearing about this stuff for years, but finally some real money's coming in ๐Ÿค‘. 36 new buses is a big deal, too - it's gonna make a huge difference on Melrose Park's West Division. And hey, it's not just Pace getting in on the action... the CTA's also got their hands on some serious funding ๐Ÿค. This is all about making our transportation system cleaner and more efficient, and I'm totally here for it ๐Ÿ’š. Bring on 2040 - let's get those old diesel buses off the road! ๐Ÿ”ฅ
