Patriots Trading Keion White to 49ers in Underwhelming Deal
The New England Patriots are reportedly parting ways with defensive end Keion White, a second-round pick just two years ago. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Patriots have traded White to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick and a seventh-round pick.
White's time in Foxborough was underwhelming, with him failing to carve out a role in Mike Vrabel's defense. Despite being one of the team's top pass-rushers last season, he fell behind on the depth chart during training camp due to Vrabel's new defensive scheme and the presence of interior pass-rushers like Milton Williams, Khyiris Tonga, and Christian Barmore.
White struggled as an outside edge rusher, losing out a featured role to Harold Landry and K'Lavon Chaisson. He appeared in just five games for New England this season, recording six total tackles. His absence from the team's depth chart also makes New England's pass-rushing corps thinner, with White's removal now featuring Chaisson, Landry, Anfernee Jennings, Elijah Ponder, and Caleb Murphy on the active roster.
On the other hand, Keion White will look to recoup his value in San Francisco, where his pass-rushing capabilities will be utilized to account for the loss of Nick Bosa, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 3. The move is seen as an underwhelming return for a player with five sacks last season and high draft pick potential.

i mean keion white had some decent numbers last year but his role on the patriots was so limited it's like they didn't know what to do with him 
and now he's being shipped off to the 49ers who really need him lol meanwhile new england is left with a weaker pass rush corps 
i guess it's all about recouping value but that sixth-round pick and seventh-round pick just don't feel like enough 
that 6th rounder and 7th rounder combo better be worth it, i mean keion white was meh at best two years ago and now hes getting shipped out like yesterday's trash . the pats musta been so bored with him they just gave up on him. its all good for SF tho, bosa is done for the season and he gets to add some decent pass rusher depth
they just dumped keion white like he's nothing... i mean, six sacks last season? that's some nice juice... and now he's off to SF where he'll prob get a chance to shine with their pass rush woes lol 6th & 7th round picks? that's not even enough to cover his draft day value 
. He's still young and had some decent years, especially last season. I mean, 6 total tackles in 5 games is not impressive, but it's not a reflection of his worth as a player either 
. The Patriots are basically giving away draft picks for him to get rid of him, but now he's got a chance to prove himself with the 49ers and get some real playing time 
. I'm curious to see how this plays out, hopefully he can make a bigger impact in San Francisco 
and whats worse is how he got benched in foxborough. i mean we all know mike vrabels defense needs an overhaul but cant they at least give the kid some chances?! 
? Like, they're all Instagrammable and stuff, but honestly, who really uses them that much? I mean, I've got a French press from my grandma and it's been serving me just fine for years 
. Anyway, back to football... what do you guys think about the 49ers' pass rush? 
Like, I know Keion White didn't do it for the Pats but now he's gotta step up in SF where they need some serious pass rush. And let me tell you, that 7th round pick is going to be a steal if he ends up with like 8+ sacks this season. I'm all about underdogs and this guy just needs a chance. The Pats are trying to rebuild their D-line for the future but it's clear they're not the right guys for White. I got faith in him now, he's gonna light it up in SF! 
and now they're left with this thin pass rush corps? 
not good. on the other hand, the 49ers are gonna get some solid value from White's skills 
hopefully they can revitalize his career after that underwhelming stint in Foxborough 
I mean Keion White had some promising moments last year but the pats just couldn't make it work with vrabel's defense 
and now he's gonna get picked up by the 49ers who need him more than the patriots did 
hope he can make an impact there tho
