idk why the red sox are being so cautious about alonso's deal. i mean, they're basically getting the guy who has consistently been one of the best in the game every year since he debuted . like, sure, his market might not be as strong as it could've been if teams weren't worried about the luxury tax, but c'mon, they're still gonna get a top-tier player for a reasonable price right? Alonso's ties to the area are cool and all, but let's focus on the baseball part . i think 4 years is doable, and maybe even a bit underrated if you ask me .
Dude, I think the Sox are taking a huge risk if they sign Alonso. He's amazing but the Red Sox have so much talent already...I mean, you've got J.D. Martinez, Rafael Devers, and Xander Bogaerts crushing it on offense . And with the luxury tax coming into play, I don't know if it's worth sacrificing flexibility for one player . Plus, what about the Yankees or Dodgers? They're still in the mix for a championship run . Alonso would definitely be a great addition but can he handle the pressure of being part of another contender like Boston? ️
