Premier League thrills while Dr Tottenham leaves it late: Football Weekly Extra – podcast

The Premier League kicked off the new year with a thrilling seven-goal match at St James' Park, where Leeds United came from behind to take on Newcastle United in injury time. The initial question of discussion revolved around Eddie Howe's future with the club, but it seemed like that would be the case for now as Leeds held off a late Newcastle surge.

In other news, Tottenham Hotspur was left kicking themselves after a series of costly defensive errors allowed their visitors, Dr Tottenham, to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in injury time. Meanwhile, a Chelsea player has been sent red card for the umpteenth time this season, with veteran defender Liam Rosenior witnessing another embarrassing display on the stands.

Manchester City continued their downward spiral as they dropped more points against Burnley, while Manchester United dug deep to secure a hard-fought draw. The Red Devils' manager, Darren Fletcher, was seen in the dugout, his team showing grit and determination to get out of the game unscathed.

As for Everton, things took a strange turn when their star player engaged in a hair-pulling incident with an opponent. It's been a tough season so far for the Toffees, but they're determined to bounce back from this latest setback.

Lastly, Brentford made a significant leap up the Premier League table by securing a top-five spot, marking another impressive display of team resilience and grit in the face of adversity.

Throughout it all, your questions will be answered, and the team's insights will provide a comprehensive analysis of the latest developments in the world of football.

🤔 so Brentford making this big leap up table but hows that even possible? like theyre literally bottom 3 last season and now top 5 after like 2 games of new year 🚨 and what about these defensive errors at Tottenham, is it just coincidence or are they seriously having major issues with their team setup 🤷‍♂️

omg, can you believe that hair-pulling incident at Everton? 🤯 like, what is going on with that player?! and Spurs just threw away two points... again 😩 i feel for them, they're really struggling this season. but Brentford's on fire right now! 💥 top-five spot in no time, what a turnaround for the Bees! 🔵👏

🤯 I'm loving how the Premier League is bringing the drama this season! Who else is hyped for those crazy comebacks? 🏆 I mean, Leeds coming from behind in injury time was insane 😲... and then Tottenham just melted down 🤦‍♂️. It's like they're trying to give us a show on purpose! 😉 Can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for these teams 🤔.

man, can you believe how crazy these matches are? like seriously, one minute you're up 2-0 and the next you're down by one goal and scrambling to get back on top... it's insane! 🤯 and what's with all the red cards this season? i mean, i get that football's a contact sport and all, but come on, some of these players need to learn how to keep their cool 🙄. and on a more serious note, has anyone else noticed how inconsistent the Premier League is when it comes to officiating? sometimes you've got the refs doing great jobs and other times... well, not so much 😕. anyway, gotta love the drama, though - it's what makes football so exciting, right? 🏟️

🤯 come on man! Leeds beating Newcastle like that is insane! I mean, 3 goals down and then they just come from behind like that? 🙌 Eddie Howe's future at Newcastle seems pretty solid right now 😂. And what's with Tottenham's defense though? Can't believe they gave away the win like that... so close to losing but ended up winning 💔. Chelsea's got some serious issues, Liam Rosenior's going crazy watching from the stands 🤣. Manchester City's just tanking atm, can't even beat Burnley 😴. But you've gotta give it to Everton for at least trying something different, that hair-pulling incident was wild 🤯! And Brentford's on fire, top-five spot? That's awesome 💥

Omg, what a wild match at St James' Park 🤯🏟️! Leeds United came from behind to take down Newcastle United in injury time 💥😱...and I'm still trying to figure out how they did it 😂👀. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur is left feeling all the feels after those costly defensive errors ⚽😩...their fans are probably crying themselves to sleep tonight 🤯😴.

And on a lighter note, Brentford's resurgence is giving me LIFE 💪🏼💕...they're on fire 🔥! But seriously, how do teams bounce back from setbacks like that? 😞 Everett's star player needs to get their act together after that hair-pulling incident 🤯😳.

Anyway, can't wait for more football action ⚽️! The suspense is killing me 🕰️...bring it on!

Blimey 🤯! Can't believe what's been happening in the Prem this season! 😱 Leeds United are on fire 🔥, beating Newcastle in injury time? That's mental! 💀 And poor Tottenham, should've had that one 🙄... again. Chelsea's got some serious issues with their defense ⚽️. Liam Rosenior's going bonkers sitting in the stands 🤣.

And what's up with Manchester City? They're imploding 🤯! Burnley's been doing alright, but I reckon they've got a good shout for Europe now 🎉. And that hair-pulling incident with Everton's star player? Whoa 😲... not sure if that's a red card or just a full-on meltdown 😂.

But you know what? It's all part of the beautiful game 💖, right? Brentford's on the up and up 👍... maybe this season's gonna be their year 🤞. Bring it on! 🔴⚽

omg that eddie howe drama is giving me LIFE 🤯🏆 anyway, i think what's weird is that both leeds and newcastle were on the brink of defeat but managed to snatch a win at the last minute... like, can't we just get the format right for once? 😂⏰ i mean, 2-1 in injury time is crazy! and what's up with all these red cards this season? liam rosenior must be so embarrassed 🙈👮‍♂️

the premier league is getting more unpredictable by the minute 🤯💥 7 goals in one match? that's wild!

let me throw some stats at ya:

- leeds united have won 4 out of their last 5 matches, with a whopping 15 goals scored in that span 🚀
- eddie howe is still on the hot seat with newcastle, who've lost 3 straight games and dropped to 12th place 📉
- chelsea's defensive woes continue: they've conceded 27 goals this season, which is 2nd most in the league 😱

burnley just keeps getting better, having won 4 out of their last 5 matches 🚀 and brentford's top-five spot shows that even the underdogs can make a comeback 🤯

🤦‍♂️ come on man what's with the inconsistent refereeing 🏃‍♂️ liam rosenior gets sent off AGAIN 😅 how many times is he gonna get booked this season? 🤔 also eva, your team's discipline has been shot all season... 😳 that hair-pulling incident was just wild 🙅‍♂️ and what's with the lack of coverage on eddie howe's future? we got more info on brentford's latest win than we do on the toffees' star player's antics 😒

man that leeds united comeback was insane!! eddie howe's future is literally on hold right now lol 🤯🏆 i'm kinda surprised they held off newcastle tho, those guys are supposed to be top 4 contenders this season 🤑 but you can't knock em for the effort. and omg evan derby between man city and burnley was wild 🔥💣 meanwhile, chelsea is just getting red card after red card - liam rosenior's reactions in the stands were LOL worthy 😂👀

Newcastle should've kept their goalie 🤦‍♂️

Tottenham's defense is as leaky as my sister's gossip 😂

Everton needs to sort out their hair-pulling problems, not the game 🙄

Liam Rosenior just needs a new job, stat! 👎

OMG 🤯 what's up with these teams' discipline lately?! Chelsea player Liam Rosenior getting sent off AGAIN... like, can't they even get one game without a red card? 😩 And what's going on at Everton?! Their star player pulling someone's hair? That's just crazy talk 🤪. On the other hand, Brentford's up there fighting and it's awesome to see them making moves! They're proof that you don't have to be superstars to make a difference in the league 💪. And can we please give some love to the underdog teams who are actually trying their best? Leeds United holding off Newcastle till the end was SO exciting 🎉... those are the moments that make football so thrilling! 😍

omg did u see that insane match at st james park?! leeds united came from behind to take on newcastle in injury time 🤯🏆 eddie howe's future is still up for debate but leeds held strong against a late newcastle surge 🙌 meanwhile tottenham were left kicking themselves after those costly defensive errors 😳 dr tottenham snatched that win from the jaws of defeat. i gotta ask, what's going on with chelsea's defense? they just can't seem to get it together 💔 liam rosenior must be losing his mind watching all that drama unfold 🤣 and everton's star player needs to work on those impulse control skills 😂 but hey brentford's top-five spot is a testament to their team resilience 👏

Wow! 😮 So much drama at St James' Park, can't believe Leeds came from behind like that 🤯, and now everyone's talking about Eddie Howe's future 🤔... Interesting to see how they'll bounce back from this after all the uncertainty 💪. And Tottenham, ugh, what a defensive meltdown 😱! Guess you could say Dr Tottenham snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, lol 👊.

OMG, WHAT A MATCH AT ST JAMES PARK!!! 😲 I cant even believe leeds united came back from behind to take down newcastle united in injury time!! eddie howe's future is still uncertain but leeds showed they're not to be underestimated!! 💪 and omg what a crazy game at the tamely with spurs vs dr tottenham?? espeshally that last minute winner was insane!!! 😱 as for chelsea, liam rosenior witnessing a red card AGAIN is just so embarrassing 🙄

awww man, those teams are just getting crushed rn 💔🏆 Leeds came from behind like 3 times and still managed to pull off the win? that's some crazy soccer magic! 🧙‍♂️ and poor Tottenham Hotspur... I feel you guys were so close to winning but those defensive errors just killed it 😩💔 Brentford is definitely making a statement this season tho, they're like the underdog team everyone loves 💖

I don’t usually comment but... I think Newcastle should have seen that one coming 🤦‍♂️... Leeds came from behind like so many times before, they know how to scramble around for those extra goals when it matters most 💪. And on a more serious note, 7 goals in a match is insane! It's crazy how quickly the pace of the game can change from one minute to the next ⏱️. I'm surprised no one got hurt, considering all that back and forth on the pitch 🤕. Anyway, it was an entertaining match, but I do wish they'd focus on the actual football instead of all the drama with Eddie Howe 💔.
