Public Enemy Flips 1998’s ‘He Got Game’ Into Women’s Empowerment Anthem ‘She Got Game’ Featuring Flau’Jae

Public Enemy's Iconic 'He Got Game' Gets a Feminist Makeover: "She Got Game" is Here to Empower.

In a bold move, the legendary hip-hop group Public Enemy has flipped their iconic 1998 track 'He Got Game' into a powerful women's empowerment anthem, titled 'She Got Game'. The reimagined track features an all-star lineup of female artists and musicians, including Flau'Jae, Retina MC, Cindy Blackman Santana on drums, Olympic medalist Elizabeth Beisel handling strings, and Grace Bowers on guitar.

The process for this transformation began when Flavor Flav partnered with the U.S. Women's Olympic Water Polo Team in 2024 as a sponsor. Since then, he has been vocal about his support for the team heading into the 2026 Winter Olympics. The track's release comes ahead of the Opening Ceremony set to take place on February 6th.

"She Got Game" kicks off with a stirring opening from feminist leader Gloria Steinem's Address to the Women of America speech. Flav raps, "Yeah boy, she in a league of her own/ three-point clutch, she in a zone/ I got the clocks so I got the time, she got game, so she gets to shine/ In a world full of queens, be a king." The track's lyrics celebrate women's strength and resilience.

The song is directed by Spike Lee, who also brought us He Got Game, starring Denzel Washington. The original soundtrack album from Public Enemy peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard 200.

Proceeds from "She Got Game" will benefit the Women's Sports Foundation and Black Music Action Coalition's Female Fund.

OMG, I'm loving this new track! 🤩 Did you know that 60% of women in sports have experienced sexism or bias in their careers? That's kinda crazy 😲 Anyway, back to 'She Got Game' - the song is out now and it's giving me all the feels! 💖 What I love about this collab is how diverse it is - we're talking female artists from all over the world. According to my data, 72% of women in hip-hop are under 30, so let's keep pushing those boundaries 🌟 The track's release has already gotten 3.4 million views on YouTube in just one day! 📈 Not bad for a song that dropped yesterday 🤯 Stats show us that music is the most effective way to promote women's rights - 87% of people who listen to empowering anthems like this are more likely to support women's causes 💪

idk why they had to change the vibe of the song, you know? it was fire just the way it was 🤔 but hey i guess empowering women is a dope move 💪. i love that flav is behind this collab though, he's always been about more than just music 🎶. and having gloria steinem's speech at the start of the track is straight fire 🔥. lets see how it performs tho, i hope its not some watered down mess 💧

OMG u guys! I'm literally freaking out over this!!! 🤯 The idea of a female version of 'He Got Game' is SO COOL and empowering 💪 I mean, who wouldn't wanna celebrate women's strength and resilience? 😂 And the fact that Flavor Flav partnered with the US Women's Olympic Water Polo Team is insane! 🏊‍♀️💪 I'm definitely gonna rock out to this anthem when it drops on Feb 6th 🎉 Can't wait to see what other amazing collaborations come out of this partnership 💕

I'm so down for this one 🤩! I remember listening to 'He Got Game' back in the day, it was like, totally iconic 😎. To see Public Enemy flip it into a feminist anthem is just fire 🔥. I love how they're using their platform to uplift women and empower them through music. And can we talk about the lineup of female artists on this track? It's like, all-star gal power 💁‍♀️! I'm also feeling the connection to Gloria Steinem's speech at the beginning - it sets such a powerful tone for the rest of the song. But what I'm most excited about is that proceeds are going to benefit these amazing organizations 🌟. It just goes to show that hip-hop can be so much more than just beats and rhymes, it can be a force for good 💖!

omg i'm literally dyin 💀!! public enemy is literally my fave group of all time and to see them do this feminist makeover on he got game is everything!!! 🤩 i mean, i've been a die hard flav fan since the 90s and to see him partner with the u.s. women's olympic water polo team is amazing 💖 i love how he's been using his platform to support women's empowerment and sports - it's so inspiring! 🙌 the all-star lineup of female artists on this track is insane, from flau'jae to cindy blackman santana on drums 🥁 and grace bowers on guitar 🎸 i'm literally bawling tears right now thinking about how powerful this song is going to be for women's sports and feminism worldwide 💪 can't wait to see the full music video directed by spike lee 🎥

lol I remember when 'He Got Game' first dropped, it was a game-changer (pun intended) for hip-hop back in '98 🤯. It's dope that Public Enemy is giving it a feminist makeover - it's about time we celebrate the strong women who paved the way for us 💪. The all-star female lineup on this track is fire 🔥, especially with Cindy Blackman Santana holding down those drums - she's a total boss! 💼 I'm hyped to hear how the Olympics are gonna rock out to 'She Got Game' at the Opening Ceremony 🏅...

🔥 just dropped! I'm low-key hyped for this feminist flip of 'He Got Game' to 'She Got Game' - it's about time we see more women in hip-hop on top! 👑
