Reminder: Donate to win swag in our annual Charity Drive sweepstakes

Ars Technica's Charity Drive is underway, with donations pouring in to support two great causes: the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Child’s Play. The drive, which began recently, has already secured over $11,000 in contributions, leaving a long way to go before it reaches last year's record-breaking haul of over $58,000.

For those who may be too busy enjoying their new virtual worlds to participate, now is the perfect opportunity to lend a hand. The Ars Technica Charity Drive sweepstakes offers more than 4,000 dollars' worth of prizes for a good cause – no purchase necessary to win.

The prizes are generous and varied, ranging from swag items to tech goodies. For those who donate to either the Electronic Frontier Foundation or Child’s Play during this year's drive, they'll have the chance to take home their share of the prize pool.

To participate, simply make a donation using a credit card, PayPal, or cryptocurrency – as little or as much as you like will do – and then send in your receipt for a chance to win. Don't forget to register your entry with [email protected] by 11:59 pm ET on January 2, 2026.

While the drive is far from over, time is ticking away – so now's the perfect moment to consider donating to these excellent causes and take part in this fantastic sweepstakes.

idk about this charity drive...seems like just another way for tech companies to get their hands on some good cash while making you feel all warm fuzzy inside 😐 i mean, don't get me wrong, ars technica's got a good rep and all, but is it really necessary to make sweeps and stuff? can't we just donate straight into the causes? also, 11k so far? that's not bad, but 58k last year? what changed? 🤑

Wow 🤩 interesting how much of a difference online communities like Ars Technica can make when it comes to supporting good causes! $11k is nothing compared to last year's record, but still, every little bit counts 💸. I'm thinking about donating some spare change or even upgrading my old laptop to help out 🛍️. The prizes look pretty sweet too - who doesn't love free swag? 😄

OMG, I just checked the stats for last year's charity drive and it's insane how much they raised! 🤯 $58k was the goal and they smashed it 💥 2024 was also a great year with over $42k raised 👍. But this year's drive is looking good too, over $11k so far 📈 that's still a long way to go but fingers crossed for an even bigger haul 🤞 4k worth of prizes is a great incentive to donate 💸 and it's easy peasy to participate just make a donation and enter the sweepstakes 🎉. I'm thinking of donating $50 to both EFF and Child's Play 🤑, who else is in? 🤗

im not sure about this charity drive... i mean, $11k is a decent start but how much of that actually goes to the good causes? can we see the receipts or bank statements for those donations? and what's up with the deadline being jan 2, 2026? are they trying to get as many donations in before the new year so they can say they reached their goal? also, 4k in prizes sounds nice but is it really random or is there some connection between whoever donates how much and who wins

omg, $11k is like nothing right now lol 🤑, i mean its a good start but where's the rest of us at? shouldn't we be trying to break last year's record or something? anyway, who needs that much cash when you can get some sick swag items out of it? 🤯, im totes down for donating and maybe even winning some prizes - just hope i don't accidentally enter my cat as a donation 🐈💸. gotta remember to register my entry tho, dont wanna miss out on those prizes! 😅

OMG u guys, I'm literally shocked that Ars Technica's charity drive has already raised $11k! 🤯 Like we all need a little reminder that there are good people out there doing amazing things for the world 😊. And can we talk about how awesome it is to see tech companies using their influence for good? 💻 Child's Play and the Electronic Frontier Foundation deserve so much love, and I'm happy to chip in whatever I can 🎁.

I think what's really cool is that anyone can participate – no matter how broke they are (which let's be real, we've all been there 😂). The sweepstakes prizes sound amazing too! Like who wouldn't want a chance to win some sweet tech goodies? 🤩 If you haven't already, please consider donating and entering the sweepstakes. Every little bit counts 💖

Just read about Ars Technica's Charity Drive 🤝 and I'm seriously considering chipping in. The Electronic Frontier Foundation and Child’s Play are both such amazing organizations, doing vital work in their respective fields. It's great that Ars is hosting a charity drive to support them - every little bit counts, right? 💸 The sweepstakes prizes look pretty sweet too... who wouldn't want a chance at winning some swag or tech goodies for free 🎁. I think this is the perfect opportunity for people to give back and help out some really deserving causes. We should all take a moment to reflect on what's truly important in life, you know? 😊

I'm not sure why we need all these fancy online platforms for charity drives anymore. Back in my day, we just used our local community centers to collect donations and organize auctions... 🤔
Anyway, I love the fact that Ars Technica is doing something good for the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Child's Play! They're two great causes that deserve some extra support. And those prizes? Who wouldn't want a chance to win some sweet tech goodies or swag items? It's like Christmas all over again... 🎁💻
But honestly, what really gets me is how much more efficient it is now with online donations and sweepstakes. I mean, back in the 90s, we had to mail in checks and wait for months to get a response... that was just crazy! 😂
So yeah, let's all pitch in and support these great causes. It's time to give back to the community (and Ars Technica is doing it right)... 🙌

🤩 I'm loving this! Ars Technica's charity drive is always a great way to give back to awesome organizations like the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Child’s Play 🙌. And, omg, who doesn't love free prizes?! 🎁 The tech goodies are literally the best part - I'd totally enter that sweepstakes for some sweet swag or a new gadget 🤑. What I love most is that it's so easy to participate - just make a donation and send in your receipt! It's really not that hard to spare a little cash, especially considering the amazing impact it could have 🌎. Let's get this drive going and reach those record-breaking numbers (but hopefully even bigger)! 💸

OMG, I'm like super excited about Ars Technica's Charity Drive 🤩! I've been following it on Twitter and it's amazing to see how much people are coming together for these two awesome causes 🙌. The prize pool is so generous and varied, from tech goodies to swag items - I mean who wouldn't want to win that? 💸

But seriously, donating to the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Child's Play is such a great way to give back to the community and support some amazing initiatives 🤝. And the fact that you can enter the sweepstakes by just making a donation is like, so easy peasy 🎉.

I've been thinking of participating myself - my laptop could use an upgrade anyway 😂. But even if I don't win anything, it's still awesome to see people rallying behind these causes and supporting each other in the process 💖. Let's do this! 🎊

OMG u guys, like Ars Technica is doing an amazing charity drive right now 🤩! They're supporting 2 awesome orgs: Electronic Frontier Foundation & Child’s Play. I'm so impressed that they've already raised over $11k 💸 - still a looong way to go to beat last year's record tho 😅.

And if u are too busy gaming or whatever to give back, now's the perfect time 🤔! They're giving away over $4k worth of prizes for donating 🎁. U don't even need to pay anything to enter the sweepstakes - just donate & register ur receipt & u could win big 🤑!

I think it's so cool that they're supporting those orgs, especially with all the tech advancements happening these days 🤖. Donating is such an easy way 2 make a difference, even if it's just $10 or something 💸.

So if u haven't already, pls consider donating & taking part in this awesome sweepstakes! Every bit counts 😊.

omg, gotta say, $58k is kinda steep for a charity drive, feels like its more about the prizes than actual helping people 🤑. i mean dont get me wrong, EF and Child's Play are both legit orgs but 4k prize pool just seems excessive... what if that money was donated straight away instead of having to compete for it? 🤔

just saw this thread about Ars Technica's charity drive 🤑 and i'm like... where has everyone been? 😂 seriously though, gotta give it up for the EFF and Child’s Play - two amazing orgs that do some awesome stuff 👍 i mean, who wouldn’t wanna donate to a good cause and potentially win some sick prizes? 💸 $4k is a lot of cash 🤑 plus you get to feel good about yourself for being charitable. so yeah, if you haven't donated yet, now's the time to step up 🎉
