Heroic Rescuers Brave Rushing Water to Save Stranded Dog in California
A dramatic rescue unfolded in Hesperia, California, when a group of quick-thinking good Samaritans risked their own safety to save a stranded German shepherd dog from rushing water. The harrowing ordeal was captured on exclusive video.
The drama began when a hiker spotted the dog stuck on a steep mountainside above fast-moving water and tried to coax it down, but with no cell service and growing darkness, she had to abandon her attempt and seek help. Fortunately, two rescue teams – Animal Advocacy and Iron Paw Rescue – sprang into action around 8 p.m.
Using a cable tied to a truck as an anchor, the rescuers bravely crossed the water, managing to reach the dog despite treacherous currents. The video shows the team sitting with the animal, keeping it calm, and offering food to comfort it.
However, their progress was soon halted when the dog and its rescuers became stuck on the embankment, unable to cross the increasingly aggressive water. Iron Paw Rescue's Mark Premasing recounted the harrowing experience: "Darn near went under... Didn't have a life vest on like we should have. We were just more worried about getting to the dog on the other side of the river."
With the group stranded, San Bernardino County Fire Department crews arrived at 11 p.m. and brought them back across the water using a secured raft. Thankfully, all parties involved are now safe.
The circumstances surrounding how the dog ended up stranded in such perilous terrain remain unclear, but it's heartening to know that the rescuers' bravery and selflessness were rewarded with a successful rescue operation.

I mean, I'm all for helping animals in need, but come on, who puts themselves in harm's way like that? 
At least the rescuers were able to keep the dog calm and give it food though, that's super sweet.

Wasn't there anyone who could've been notified to help the poor thing out?
This is not a game of "rescue roulette" where everyone has to cross by their own two feet... 
First, we need better cell coverage on those rural trails, right? Like, how are people supposed to call for help when there's no signal? And what's up with all these rescue teams popping up at the last minute? It's like everyone's a hero 24/7 
. I mean, I'm glad they saved that dog and all, but can't we just have some decent infrastructure in place for once? 
! And what's up with not having life vests? Don't they know that can be a matter of seconds or minutes out there? It's wild to me how close it all came to going wrong - like, for sure, no one should have had to go 'darn near under' 
!
this is just wow.... I mean, what kind of animal gets left behind on a steep mountainside above rushing water?!?! And those rescuers, they literally put their lives on the line to save that poor pup... I'm talking brain freeze level scared, and they still manage to stay calm enough to coax it down with food 
. The video is insane, like you're watching a scene from some action movie or something! And then when they get stuck on the other side... I was literally on the edge of my seat, thinking 'they're gonna make it, they're gonna make it' 
. But seriously though, the rescuers are heroes 
and that pup is one lucky dog to have people like them looking out for it 
. Can you even imagine how traumatized that poor hiker must've been just trying to help?!?! All I'm saying is, these rescuers saved a life today... what an incredible feeling 
. and i love how they were all worried about getting to the other side because you can tell they genuinely cared about the dog
