Rewakening the ‘inflation monster,’ OPEC+ moves to send US gas prices higher | CNN Business

You know what's wild? I just got back from the most amazing road trip with my friends over the weekend 🚗💨 We drove through this gorgeous national park and saw the most incredible sunsets... anyway, it made me think about how gas prices always seem to be a mystery 🤔 like, who exactly is in control of all these oil supplies? And have you noticed how some cities are super eco-friendly but others just can't get enough of those big trucks hauling stuff around? 🚚💨 I swear, if I had a dollar for every time I filled up on gas and thought about the world's energy situation... 💸

OMG, like, can you even imagine paying $3.80-$3.90 per gallon for gas 😱?! I'm low-key panicking just thinking about it 🤯. I know some people are all "inflation is a natural part of the economy" but like, I get it 🙅‍♀️. Higher gas prices will definitely affect consumers, especially with inflation already on the rise 💸. Some people might say we'll see higher prices again by summer, and honestly, that's just stressing me out 😬. Anyone else worried about this?!

I'm not buying it. 1.6 million barrels per day might sound like a huge cut, but let's put it into perspective - there are around 9 billion barrels of oil that OPEC+ produces every month 🤔. That's just 0.018% of their total production. I need to see the source for this "shocking" move... how did they come up with a number like that? And what's really driving these prices? Is it just speculation or are there actual supply issues at play? I'm not convinced by the narrative here 🤷‍♂️

🚨😱 I'm freaking out about this OPEC+ move! 1.6 million barrels per day cut? That's crazy talk!!! Gas prices are gonna sky-rocket and it's gonna affect everyone... 🤑💸 my wallet is already crying just thinking about it 😩. What's next? Are they gonna raise the cost of everything else too?! 🤯 I need some answers on this one... 💬

🤔 so what's up with opec doing this crazy thing? like, i get it they wanna make more money but does it have to hurt us so much? 🚗 my friend just bought a new car and now he's all worried about gas prices 🤑 i feel bad for him lol. and yeah energy analysts are saying we might be in for some inflationary pressures...that sounds super sketchy 😬
