Rodri: Man City midfielder 'suffering' and 'struggling' after injury setback

Man City Midfielder Rodri 'Suffering' and 'Struggling' After Injury Setback

Rodri's season is shaping up to be a frustrating one for Manchester City fans. The 29-year-old midfielder, who has been a mainstay in the middle of the park for the club since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2019, has struggled to regain full fitness following a serious knee injury.

Since missing almost the whole of last season due to a severe ACL injury, Rodri's return to action has been marked by only occasional appearances. The Spain international initially picked up a hamstring issue at Brentford in October but has not seen significant game time since then.

According to manager Pep Guardiola, Rodri is "suffering" and "struggling" as he tries to make his comeback from the injury. Guardiola expressed concern over Rodri's prolonged absence from action and warned that he needs to be careful with the risk of re-injury.

The 2024 Ballon d'Or winner has been a vital cog in City's midfield for years, helping the club win four consecutive Premier League titles, the Champions League, and an FA Cup. Guardiola acknowledged Rodri's exceptional abilities, stating that "he is another level of the players."

However, the manager emphasized that he needs to protect his star midfielder from further injury. Guardiola expressed his desperation to have Rodri back on the pitch soon but also prioritized his team's safety.

Rodri's situation has left many fans and pundits questioning the club's ability to win major titles without their key player. As the season progresses, City will need to rely heavily on other midfielders like Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan if they hope to compete for silverware.

i feel bad for rodri 🤕 he's been through so much injury already and it's frustrating for him and his fans... 4 premier league titles are nothing to sneeze at though, city's got some serious depth in midfield 🤝 silva and gundogan can step up but it's not the same without rodri in that middle ground 💪 meanwhile, pep's gotta walk a fine line between getting rodri back on track and avoiding another major injury 😬

ugh man this is so frustrating 🤯 rodri was such a big part of mans city's success and now he's struggling with injuries again... i get that pep wants to protect him but at what cost? they can't keep relying on silva and gundogan to carry the team. it's like they're just patching up the midfield instead of fixing the problem altogether 💔

I feel bad for Rodri 🤕... He's been a superstar for Man City for so long and now he's struggling with an injury. I get it, injuries are part of the game, but it's frustrating when you're not back on the pitch ASAP 💔. The manager is trying to protect him from getting hurt again, which is smart, but it also means we won't see Rodri at his best right now 🤦‍♂️. I hope he can get back to form soon and help City win more titles!

🤔 It's disheartening to see Rodri struggling with his injury, considering his importance to Manchester City's midfield. The club's reliance on players like Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan to fill the gap is a concern, as it may lead to an uneven distribution of workload and potentially increase the risk of further injuries 🏥. Pep Guardiola's emphasis on prioritizing Rodri's safety is understandable, but it's also crucial that he finds a solution to get his star midfielder back on the pitch ASAP ⏱️.

im not surprised about rodri's struggles he's been injury prone since joining man city 🤕 anyone remember when he first came back from his acl injury last year? he was still struggling with fitness then now its a hamstring issue lol like is this guy cursed or something? anyway, pep needs to be more careful with his players if he wants them to win titles without getting injured. bernardo and ilkay are good subs but they can't carry the team on their own 🤦‍♂️

I gotta say, I'm getting a little worried about Rodri 🤕. He's been so dominant in the past few years and his absence is really being felt. It's not just about Manchester City's chances of winning big titles, it's also about the impact on the players who are trying to step up to fill his shoes. Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan can do great things, but they're not Rodri 🤔. I think the club needs to be honest with themselves about their midfield depth and consider making some signings in the January transfer window... or next summer, whoever wins the league 😉

🤔 this is what i'm saying, football clubs are all about investment and risk management... Manchester City's been known to splurge on top talent, but they need to weigh the cost of Rodri's injuries vs the benefits of having him on the pitch... if he can't get a decent run out of games without getting hurt, does it even make sense for them to keep throwing money at him? 🤑

😕 this is crazy Rodri's been with the team since 2019 and already he's missing almost a whole season 🤯 it's not fair to fans who've been waiting to see him back on the pitch. 💔 i mean Pep's right though, we don't want him risking more injury. 🙅‍♂️ but at the same time, he's like a major cog in their midfield machine ⚽️ and they need him to compete for those titles. 🏆 it's gonna be tough for them without Rodri, but they've got some good young players who can step up ⚡️ fingers crossed he comes back strong soon 💪

man i feel bad for rodri, he was having such a great year last season before that injury happened 🤕 i remember him dominating the game against liverpool at old trafford it's crazy how one bad injury can mess up an entire season 🔄 i hope he gets back to full fitness soon and we get to see him wreak havoc on the pitch again 💪 but pep has to be super careful with him, you cant put a price on rodri's health and well being 💯
