High School Hoops: Upset Wins and Dominant Performances on a Busy Saturday Night

Saturday's high school basketball scene was filled with upsets, dominant performances, and some cancellations due to various reasons. Let's break down the night's top results.

The day started off strong for Montini, as they defeated Fenton 45-42 in a thrilling matchup. Similarly, Loyola pulled away from Lake Zurich 56-29, securing their title. Wheaton-Warrenville South also made headlines by crushing Willowbrook 56-31.

Lake Forest took center stage with back-to-back victories, beating Niles West 51-43 and then defeating Bulls Prep 70-42. This was followed by a strong performance from New Trier, which topped Mount Carmel 69-39 to claim their title.

In the Fenton-Manteno game, it was Southland vs. IC Catholic that cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. Bolingbrook also pulled out of its match against MacArthur, with the reasons for cancellation still unclear.

Carmel dominated Deerfield 51-44 in overtime, while McHenry took down Mundelein 62-32. Vernon Hills had a strong outing against TF South 73-26 and Oak Park-River Forest continued their winning ways, beating Northridge 55-32.

Lindblom scored an impressive 79 points to lead Gateway Legacy-Mo to a loss, while Naperville North edged Ridgewood 49-36. The title match between St. Patrick and Wheaton North was won by the latter, with the final score being 69-48. Payton also emerged victorious against Highland Park 58-56.

In the Riversiders' championship game, Thornwood took home the title with a win over Riverside-Brookfield 63-59. Brother Rice secured their spot in the finals after beating Fenwick 46-28. Joliet West defeated Hinsdale South 47-36 in another title match.

whoa just saw all these crazy upsets and dominant performances on the hoops court 🤯 i think lake forest is on fire right now, beating two teams back-to-back is no joke 💥 montini's win over fenton was so close though 42-45 is a big margin of victory 😬 what do you guys think about lincoln-way west taking down providence in the title match? that's some tough competition they had 🤔

omg i'm dying over the results from last night's hoops 🤯 montini's win against fenton was insane, and i love how loyola took it to lake z Zurich 😂 but seriously, who did you guys think would come out on top? 🤔 lincoln-way west vs providence was such a nail-biter, and Burlington central's title win is giving me all the feels 🎉 also side note, 79 points from lindblom is insane! 🤯 what's up with the cancellation of southland vs ic catholic tho? 🤷‍♀️

OMG, what a night for hoops 🤯! Lake Forest is on FIRE 🔥, beating Niles West and Bulls Prep back-to-back. And New Trier is looking strong too 💪, taking down Mount Carmel in the title match. But wait, Lindblom's 79 points are insane 🤯 - not sure if that team was prepared 😂.

And congrats to Thornwood on their Riversiders' championship win 🎉! They took down Riverside-Brookfield 63-59. I'm loving this tournament so far... check out the top results here: https://www.hshsports.com/hs-basket...set-wins-dominant-performances-saturday-night

Saturday night was straight fire 🔥 for high school hoops, but I gotta say, some of these upsets have me raising an eyebrow 🤔. Montini taking down Fenton 45-42 is cool and all, but I'm surprised they didn't cover more ground in that game. And Lake Forest's back-to-back wins are solid, but can they keep it going? 🤞 New Trier dominating Mount Carmel was a nice win, but will they be able to hold onto their title?

I love how Wheaton-Warrenville South crushed Willowbrook 56-31, though - that's some serious dominance 💪. And while Bolingbrook cancelled out of its match against MacArthur, I'm still gonna keep an eye on them 👀.

What's up with all the cancellations, tho? 🤷‍♀️ IC Catholic vs Southland was supposed to be a big one, and now it's just... cancelled. Same with Ottawa Marquette's game against Hall. Can we get some info about what went down? 📝

Anyway, congrats to all the winners and champs - can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store! 🎉
