See ‘Star Wars’ legend react to Acosta’s Darth Vader impression | CNN Business

Star Wars legend Mark Hamill has shared his thoughts on a potential spinoff series based around his iconic character Luke Skywalker.

In an exclusive interview with CNN's Jim Acosta, Hamill expressed his enthusiasm for the possibility of revisiting the beloved character in a new spinoff series. When asked about the idea, Hamill replied that it was "exciting" and he would be open to reentering the role.

Hamill also shared his thoughts on how Luke Skywalker might evolve as a character in the future, stating that he would want to see the character grow and mature in new and unexpected ways. He emphasized the importance of exploring complex themes and emotions in any potential spinoff series.

Acosta asked Hamill if he had given any thought to who could play him in such a spinoff, and Hamill jokingly replied that "anybody" would be fine as long as they didn't make him look like himself. He also expressed his desire to see the return of familiar characters from the original trilogy.

Hamill's comments on the potential spinoff series demonstrate his continued passion for the Star Wars franchise, which he has been closely associated with since his iconic portrayal of Luke Skywalker in the 1970s and 1980s.

The data says 74% of fans would love to see a new Luke Skywalker spinoff series! 🚀 It's no surprise Mark Hamill is down for it, he's been keeping the character alive in his head all these years 😂. I mean, have you seen his tweets about Star Wars? The man is still as stoked as ever! 💥

Now, let's look at some fun stats:
- 85% of fans think a new Luke series would be a great way to introduce the character to a new generation 🤝
- Mark Hamill has been in the spotlight since 1977, that's like, what, over 40 years? 🎉
- The original trilogy has sold over 10 million copies worldwide, no joke! 📚

I think it'd be awesome if they could get some behind-the-scenes info on how they plan to make Luke grow and mature. What do you guys think? Would a new spinoff series be worth revisiting the ol' Skywalker legacy? 😐

I mean, I'm all for another Luke Skywalker show, but can we please get a revamp of this platform first? 🤦‍♂️ It's like they're just phoning it in every time someone big comes on to talk about their favorite franchise. Can't we have some actual discussion threads or even just some decent live chats without Mark Hamill having to share his thoughts through some canned interview with a journalist? 😒

And what's up with the comments section anyway? It's all just a bunch of spam and trolls who can't even be bothered to read the actual article. I mean, come on people, if you're gonna comment, make it worth reading! 👎

I'm low-key hyped for a new Luke Skywalker show lol 🤯 but like can we please get some new blood into the mix? The dude's gotta be older by now, you know? I mean, I love Mark Hamill to death, but it'd be cool to see someone else bring a fresh perspective to the role. Plus, wouldn't it be lit if they brought in some of the original cast for cameos? That'd be pure nostalgia fest 🍿👏

I just love Mark Hamill, he's so hilarious 😂! I was watching one of his podcasts with his wife Kimmy, and it was like they were having a coffee date 🍵. Anyway, about this spinoff series... hmm, I think it would be awesome if they made Luke older and wiser, maybe as a mentor or something? That way he could still have some cool Jedi moments but also show us more of his personality 🤔. And omg, can you imagine who would play him in the spinoff? 🤷‍♀️ I guess it would be hard to find someone who's just like him... unless they cast a clone or something 😂! What do you guys think?

I'm stoked that Mark Hamill is open to revisiting Luke Skywalker 🤩. I've always thought it would be awesome to see more of Luke's journey after Return of the Jedi. He's got so much depth as a character, from his time as a farm boy to his rise as a Jedi Knight. I'd love to see how he'd handle being older and wiser, but still dealing with the weight of his past experiences.

I'm also hyped that they're talking about exploring complex themes and emotions in this spinoff series 🤔. Luke's got a lot of emotional baggage, from his relationship with Darth Vader to his struggles with the dark side. I think it would be really interesting to see how those storylines play out on screen.

As for who'd play him, haha, good luck with that! 🙃 Mark Hamill's iconic performance is hard to replicate. But seriously, if anyone could pull it off, it'd have to be someone who's got a deep understanding of Luke's character and can bring his own unique take to the role.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Luke Skywalker spinoff series 💫 – let's make this happen!

I'm so down for a new Luke Skywalker spinoff 🤩! I mean, can you imagine how cool it would be to see a whole new story unfold from Luke's perspective? It'd be awesome to explore more of his emotional depth and see him face new challenges as a character 💫. Mark Hamill seems like the perfect guy to helm this project – he's got the passion and dedication that made the original trilogy so iconic 🎥. Let's hope they bring back some familiar faces from the OG trilogy too, maybe even a cameo by Han or Leia 👏. The possibilities are endless! Can't wait to see what kind of cool stuff they come up with 💪

Imagine a new Luke Skywalker series 🚀💫! Mark Hamill is totally down to revisit the character, and I'm loving that vibe 😎. I think it's awesome he wants to see Luke grow and mature in new ways - maybe explore some of his struggles as a Jedi or as a hero? A spinoff could be so cool if they brought back old friends like Han Solo (if they ever make him appear) 🤔👦

Here's a quick diagram of what I think a potential series could look like:
```
+---------------+
| Luke's Past |
| ( explore |
| his Jedi |
| training, |
| his love |
| for Leia) |
+---------------+
|
|
v
+---------------+
| New Quests |
| ( Luke faces |
| new threats, |
| meets new |
| allies/foes) |
+---------------+
```
I'd love to see Mark Hamill back as the hero we all know and love! 🙌 What do you think? Should they give it a go? 😁
